I like to lay on the ice and play keepaway from the small ones. Once you get the school in a frenzy you can jigg the school right up to under the hole... Half the fun of perch fishing for me im a big kid at heart.

Make shure you have a boaters licence i got a ticket for that in washago... Got pulled over by the huge greatlakes boat they have stationed there

Ps dont go wandering around lake simcoe blindly you will go for a cold bath if you do. 95 percent of the laker grounds are not sfe right now.. And probably 100 percent unsafe by this weekend

Hey guys i finaly got out on some safe ice in laker grounds on sunday.. I was on the ice for 8am. Was already a crowd out there i popped some holes in 120 fow marking fish all day long no big schools but lots of lookers. It was realy fustrating i just couldent get em to turn. Another fustrating thing was my laker tackle tray was left on the kitchen table at home. I fished all day with a small half and half willians(perch size) and a 1/8th oz buckshot spoon (not exactly my confidence lures). And wouldent ya know billm i snagged a laker lol. I was fighin this fish for 10 min finaly get it to the hole and it was hooked behind the gills i thought i had a twentypounder on it was quickly released .....other than that an un eventfull day. Was nice to be out ice was a solid 5inches where i was. I did see bunch of lakers caught on sunday and 1 whitefish. A slow day fishins better than a day at work.

Do they still have the porquipine they let you pet? I loved that when i was a kid

Beauty fish Scugog scares the crap outta me. More deaths per fisherman than any lake in ontairo. And i grew up in the area (oakwood) all i ever heard growing up as a kid was stick to the west side.

Vintage and normal classes fully insured. 1000 ft track with 1000Ft of runnoff. 7th line across from earlrowe pp. 30bucks run all day. Google "snowsquall radar run" for more info. Its not my event. I will be runnin my 98 polaris xc700 with a few tricks up its sleeve.( My buddies call it the bass boat of ice fishing sleds) its got a hitch on it for the otter and all. If you make it say hello. Its all about comfort and if your not a local or familliar with the lake and icepatterns i cant blame you.... My rule rule of thumb for snowmachines is six inches. And foot travel is min is 3 with 4 bieng exponentialy more comfortable. No idea on the canal sorry. Whatever you do do not go much north of hwy 89

I was on 5inches 1km due east of gillford rd today bill. She was really noisy today. Felt like earthquakes going on all day.

I was out today. I caught some tank perch. 10 over ten inches with the biggest at 13. And about 150 under ten inches went back down the hole. I wouldent venture further north than gillford. Lefroy was open water yesterday @4pm. Today @ 4pm its 1/2 inch of ice as far as the eye can see out into the main lake basin.

Foil lined insulation sheets are great for that too! 23bucks for a 4x8 sheet

Im still pluggin away on my giesler cedar strip. Lots of work left. Keel , transom, seats, epoxy, trim.....whats that saying about boats again....
