  1. The biggest thing to consider when purchasing a battery for trolling motors is Ah........meaning how many hours you can drain one amp per hour.....for me, my local Wal-mart sold the 120 Ah....no problems whatsoever!.....On the other hand, my first battery was one of those new fangled batteries with the circle cells, and after getting my second one under warranty, which pooched as well, I went to wally world and got my 120Ah energizer for almost half the price!
  2. I know what you mean, and have heard of steelhead getting used to some types of hardware when they're exposed to it in higher pressure situations and such, ie: cleos and what have you.
  3. I said something along the same lines........She still din't seem to understand tho!......Remember, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than understanding!....How much was that four-wheeler?
  4. Hah!...........I was goona say, that's pretty in-depth!
  5. During the hard or soft water season?.....Gotta love it when the Brookies are on too!
  6. It's pretty amazing how fish can get used to baits!
  7. Over time I seem to have accumulated quite a few of these in my tackle arsenal, but can't say I've given them an honest whirl, however, they do seem that they would be a pretty versatile bait that would be good for just about anything during hardwater or soft, whether jigged, drifted, or trolled.....Just curios as to whether or not any fellow anglers have had good success using these baits?
  8. Put my snowmachine to sleep!.....OOPS!
  9. Don't wory my freinds.....We (Canadians) will be in the same predicament, it's all a matter of time IMHO.....It seems as if they just don't want us out there.....But, thats just how I feel about it, I could be wrong, I HOPE SO!
  10. Limeyangler, did you ever try those Whistler Jigs by Northland Takcle?........They're like a basic jighead but have a sort of propellor system on them for added flash and noise.
  11. My apologies to any who may have been offened by my thread....I guess maybe it got a little out of hand? I'll try not to touch on subjects that are so sensitive from now on. Please, no comments, just accept my apologies....Thanks!
  12. Hmmm....that's kinda what I thought?
  13. To me there's nothing more rewarding than coming home after a hard day on the water with a nice feed of fish for the family!
  14. I'm finding that the lowered limits on Lakers is very discouraging.........I mean who's going to load all their gear up, take a short journey into the remote wilderness just to come back with one legal nice sized fish??....Hardly worth it!......Try targeting different species some say?....We all know it's just a matter of time before these resources too are deemed "depleted" by someone sitting behind a computer screen that punches in some formula?....W'ell never be told that we can't fish, that would be politically incorrect, w'ell just be restricted to the point that everyone just decides that it's not worth it.......is it just me, or are the great outdoors that w'eve enjoyed for generations now ever so slowly being taken away from us?.........All comments appreciated!
  15. Hi all, just wondering if any fellow anglers out there have ever given these spoons a whirl, they seem to be very versatile, caught my pesonal best speckie while trolling with one of these in the spring of the year..
  16. I won't say that they don't work, but these lures are notorious for hog-tieing..
  17. Ah, Ah, Ah.......careful, loose lips sink ships!
  18. Got me a nice silver lake-fresh one on a pearl/green buzz bomb a few years back......
  19. I've found pretty much the same, just curios as to weather or not the same was true for others......on a slightly different note, I was reading an article that said to try putting a little bit of orange lure "paste", as this was supposed to resemble lake trout fry?
  20. Technically speaking, fireline isn't a braid at all.....
  21. OHHHH
  22. Or salted trout belly!
  23. Just wondering if anyone has ever noticed a difference between salted and un-salted tubes when it comes to angling for Lakers during the hardwater season? One thing I do know for certain tho is the salted ones sure make a mess of all your tube heads!
  24. The lure that caught me absolutely squat last year would be the Little Cleo!.....Yes, I know, amazing as it sounds.....The worlds most vesatile lure in my opinion (There is, I believe, a cleo color pattern and size available for any given possible situation;ie: jigging, casting, trolling). But, will I say that the Cleo is a un-productive bait?......Only a fool could say so! Do I own probably almost every color pattern and size? Yes!...............I will continue to fish with this spoon, based on fellow angler's sucess rates, and will someday catch a fish on a Cleo!
  25. For speckies tho, I prefer a smaller Hildebrant with a snell hook and worm, seem to get more that way when they're finicky!
