  1. That is wonderful news Bruce! Congratulations to all.
  2. And these are the same idiots that think they are qualified to manage our country are they not? Who is going to control where all these billions are actually going to be spent. Who is going to insure that the money is used to help those most in need and not used to support rebel groups? They can't even get it right here at home so now they are going to try to do it at arms length? I might buy that in a couple of cases but I don't for a second believe that is the reason for most of it. How would you be feeling right now if you had to try to bring your children up in a situation where you couldn't even drink the water because it was so poluted, where in some cases it isn't even safe to bath in? Oh but wait, Canada, your home and native land thinks it is important to make sure that people in some foregin country should have safe drinking water.
  3. It's wonderful to watch all these billions of dollars being pledged to helping other countries and other people! What about helping the 31 first nations communities right here in Canada that don't even have safe drinking water? That's right, 10% of our First Nations communities are under "boil water advisories" and have been for years but we can spend all this money to provide clean drinking water to some other country?
  4. I think it's about time! Good for MNR (finally) As for the rotating season, I think that is probably one of the best ideas I have ever heard and I would support that 100%. Now if I could only figure out where to catch crappie through the ice on Sturgeon Lake..... well I do know but I can't get there LOL.
  5. I don't think so, NATO has sided with Turkey and it looks like Turkey has proof and have covered their butts. Russia ( and the US) have been pushing the envelope with a lot of people for quite a while now, it's almost as if they are trying to push "someone" into starting something that they can "react" to so they can claim "they started it!"
  6. Tilt trim: now you need a battery and a way to charge the battery. The block of wood and a string sounds like a really good plan at least for now. Sitting winterized for 6 years, I'd be making sure that motor is up and running well before I'd spend a cent on adding anything. After 6 years of sitting, anything rubber is likely to be dried out, I'd be wanting to change the impeller and check all the seals and fuel lines before even trying to start it. As for the prop, if you get the motor up and running properly, just get the one you have repaired for now, fine tuning can come after. It looks like it had been well taken care of and might be worth spending a bit of money on but make sure the basics are there first.
  7. It's those darn grow lights they use to grow their "tomato" plants Steve. Our place is 1500 sq ft on two levels, raised bungalow. Propane kitchen range, hot water heater, furnace, and fire place. We have friends staying with us so 4 adults, our average monthly hydro bill is about $184.00/ month
  8. I would be more than happy to help you in any way I can!
  9. Oh but wait, there is more!!!!! Turns out that 25,000 is just the Government sponsored number, apparently there is no cap on the number of private/corporate sponsored refuges coming in to Canada. I'm all for helping people when we can but two years ago when propane prices went through the roof I know Canadian seniors that had to choose between heating and eating. When I started calling our MPs and MPPs I was told to tell them to go to the United Way and they might be able to help because there was no provision in our government to help them. There was a comment about "why was I so bitter?" I am bitter because I know seniors that have worked and contributed for their whole lives and the total sum of their pensions are $1370.00 a month but we can spend $60,000.00/ person to bring people here that have never contributed anything to Canada. Oh and I just heard on the news now that priorities will be given to gay single men? WTH, where is the logic in this?
  10. Talk to a pattent lawyer, work out a deal with them, small fee up front fee, % of sales for a period of time. Have the originator cover your out of pocket expenses and again agree on a % of sales. You are going to have some duds but they won't have cost you anything but some time and just one or two success a year could make you, the lawyer, and the originator very rich. Brian has some good ideas for products, I have one of his adaptors for my ice auger and wouldn't leave home without it!
  11. Well, first of all, how old are they? Some of these things can be dangerous, even the blades on some of the smaller helicopters can cut like a knife. If you do get them RC toys, make sure they can be switched to different frequencies or they won't both be able to fly/control them at the same time. I have had a few different helicoptors over the years then got a drone, much easier to fly and a lot more fun! The drone that Art posted looks like an excellent starter unit. Make sure you get units that use RF rather than IR for control the IR units don't work well out doors. Whatever units you do buy, make sure spare parts are available, there will be a few crashes in the beginning LOL.
  12. I think it is relevant in that this is 1.5 billion taxpayer dollars that they are spending, they originally said it would cost about 1/5 of that. $240,000.00 to settle a family of 4 (and that doesn't include all the medical, dental........ costs). Totally rediculious! It would be different if we were flush with money and the Canadians that are already here were taken care of but that isn't the case. Our health care system is already being slashed (because we can't afford to pay Dr.s and nurses; medication costs......) We have seniors living below the poverty line (because there is no more money to give them). It's fine to keep a promise, if you can afford it!
  13. So today the Liberals announce that it is going to cost $60,000.00/ to land and settle each of these refugies.
  14. So how mich are they? I just use my 20V DeWalt and that does as a multi tool for me.
  15. I think this is fantastic news! Congratulations on stepping outside the box that so many people become trapped in. As for part time jobs; driving a cab can be a lot of fun and if you are any good with people it can be very rewarding, lots of flexability there too. As for the design/prototype business, I think that could be a real winner if you take it a step or two further and help take it right through to pattents and even marketing. Not every idea is going to be worthy but it would only take one good one to set you and the originator up for life. Whatever you decide, you have just taken a huge step in the rest of your life, enjoy every minute of it!
  16. That is wonderful news, so glad to hear it You have way too much class for that! How about just walking by their again when the kids are getting out and if she tells you to leave again, give her one of your big beautiful smiles (you can throw in the one finger salute too if it makes you feel better ) and tell her to call the cops then just keep walking!
  17. Well writen as are most of your posts, I might not always agree with you but I always appreciate the time and thought you put into explaning your point of view. In this case however I do agree totally with you that bombs are not the answer! I just heard on the news that the French bombing runs have killed 38 ISIS members so far. I would love to know what it costs to drop just one of those bombs! I am thinking that the cost/ is going to be extradonary. I don't like the idea of our soldiers going into combat over there, I think that once again we are getting dragged into a war that we didn't start and isn't ours to fight but we do tend to stand by our friends even if they aren't always right, it's the Canadian way.
  18. Not that it affects me but it was well written and could save someone a pile of money! Thanks for taking the time to post the article.
  19. I would think she'd just get 72 blow up dolls
  20. She couldn't have had a better life than to be with you! I am so sorry for your loss
  21. Exactly, I was 5' 9" and weighed about 145 lbs. I didn't loose many fights because I didn't play by the other guys rules. That is my point, you don't have to be big to beat a big guy in a fight, North Vietnam didn't have any fancy planes or equipment. ISIS has a lot more technology, they are ruthless, and they are now showing that they can bring the war to any country in the world.
  22. How much do you want to bet that those "trainers" are going to end up being targets! ISIS don't have the necessary equipment to stop the jets but in a ground fight they don't play by the rules.
  23. Not a single F18 has been lost in the war against ISIS so far. Now Trudeau is going to pull our fighter jets out and send our ground troups in. ????????
  24. We already do!
