Well, since a barking dog never seems to anoy the people that have it, the solution is very simple; let the dog into her yard and then when it barks it can anoy the neighbours!

Moe, I'm with Wayne on this one, push it with the manager and make sure everything is doccumented. Might not do you any good if there is serious engine damage, their defence would be you should have pulled over and stopped as soon as the light came on but because you continued to drive, you are responsible for the damage.

Hi gravyboat and welcome to the board, glad you joined! Where are you from, what do you like to fish for, tell us a little about yourself, it'll help you hook up with like minded people on the board. Oh and pictures, we love pictures!

Good that you fired off a letter, did you get the kid's name? I think I'd have gone through the door and asked to speak to the manager!

Looking for someone to do some home renovations.

LOL, yes Cliff, this is PAID work I am offering but I'll still provide some burgers and some evening fishing if anyone wants it. -
I have a few projects around here that need doing and no time to do them myself. Install a small kitchen down stairs, drywall, pluming and electrical, some painting, a small retaining wall that needs to be built outside, some new shingles on my garage roof. Thought I'd offer it to any OFNr's first. If anyone is interested please let me know ASAP as I want to get it going fairly soon. Thanks Cliff

Some one correct me if I am wrong here but it is my understanding that this "ticket taker" worked something like an average of 20 hours/week over time. I believe his salary was about $27.50/hr and that the over time is at time and a half or about $41.25/ hr. That doesn't include benifets or anything. More power to him if he is willing to put a year and a half of work out in a year. Wish I could make that kind of money, holiday pay, and benifits but I'm not willing to go to TO everyday to be a ticket taker. If you envy him then I'm sure there are job openings at the TTC.

A little help with reporting a poacher please
Big Cliff replied to Casey123's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure but can't you call the "TIPS" hot line for something like this? As FnA said in his post, even the police could respond and lay charges. Goot post, I'll look forward to hearing what can be done. PS good for you for stoping and at least saying something and trying to do something about it! -

Glad you got new rubbers but the best part of the story for me is that your wife is doing so well! -
Just gained a whole new level of respect (and I had nothing but respect before) for our boys in blue. Wish there were more like you! Please keep it up and ask your brothers to do the same, our CO's need all the help they can get!

Water in Sturgeon Lake has risen in the last few days to the point where it is 1.5-2' Higher than normal for this time of the year and not showing any sign of receeding in the next few days. I suspect they are trying to hold it back to take some of the pressure off of the the people down stream, an inconvenience for me but a small price to pay to save someone elses home. Anyway, if I can I would like to shoot for a week this Sunday, same time. Would those who had offered to help please confirm that you have seen this, if I haven't heard from all of you by tomorrow evening, I will try to contact you by other means. Thanks again! Big Cliff

If karma can be counted, Wayne has billions in the bank! Glad to hear Jen is doing better and hope a cure can be found one day soon!

Wow, thanks for all the replies gang, I can't tell you how much it means to me. Jeffw, 313 Snug Harbour Rd. 10:00 am Sunday phone 705-328-0750 if anyone needs it. The whole thing shouldn't take an hour to do then anyone that wants to fish or just stay and relax is welcome to. I will have burgers and hotdogs, beer and pop. I sure hope I can return the favour one of these days! Thanks again everyone, what a great family! BTW Cliff, I have lots of kids fishing rods here and whan I say lots of pan fish, I mean LOTS. Don, I really appreciate your offer but it would take you longer to drive up here than it will take to put the dock in! You'd still be most welcome if you'd like to come though! Beans my friend, relax and enjoy or I might put you to work on the BBQ LOL. Talk to you on Saturday.

Water came back up a good 4-5" here again today, I am wondering if they are holding water back to try to relieve some of the pressure on those people down stream. Fortunatly there isn't much rain in the forecast. Sure hope it is helping. Talked to Jamie at Emm's Sporting goods here in Lindsay yesterday, he was telling me that the pickerel spawn is over as of Thursday last week and the pickerel have started moving back toward the lake. He said the suckers and carp are in now, (and I always thought that the pickerel spawned after the suckers) learn something new everyday LOL! Heard something on the radio yesyerday about more dead carp being found in the Kawarthas in the last few days, I checked down here last evening and didn't see any, hope we don't have the same situation as last year. Anyway that's all for now folks!

Thanks Moe, that is a long drive, are you sure it isn't too much of an inconvenience for you and your cousin? Sinker, bless his heart has also offered to help and will be here too. One more would really make things go easier if anyone can spare the time. Gerritt, I know you would my friend!

Love the colour! Sorry to hear you had the problems!
-
Made one in a pinch one time on BOQ, one pink, one green' one blue blade, a few of whatever beads I had, the other guys laughed and called it Cliffie's Christmas tree. I caught 11, the other two guys in the boat caught 2 between them, for some reason, they didn't laugh so much any more LOL. I really think it has more to do with presentation than colour, I was letting out line untile I felt mine bumping bottom then bringing it up just a bit. Worked well for me at least!

I'd like to try to get my dock in this Sunday if I can and I know several of you have offered. Trust me your help would be much appreciated if you could make it. It usually takes two of us about an hour to do and I have waders but if you have your own, please bring them. You are welcome to bring your young ones and significant other too if you would like. I will provide burgers and hot dogs and refreshments and the kids (and adults) are welcome to fish off the dock once it is in, (I've got lots of fishing rods, kids and all) there are a million pan fish and we have started getting some crappie here in the last year or so. I would like to start around 10 ish so we can be sure to finished by lunch time. Please RSVP if you can make it and let me know how many kids etc. I can supply some vegie burgers for anyone that would prefer that. Thanks Big Cliff!

last I heard from you, you were looking at a place in or near Dunsford, didn't hear if you found anything or not but, if you are still looking there is a nice place just down the road from us that came on the market recently. Let me know and I'll get all the info for you. If you did find a place, please share that with us too, we all love happy endings!

Nice day, sun is shining, decided to hook up my irrigation system: Everything went according to plan, hooked up the pump, intake line, just had to put the foot valve out in the lake. It's Ok, the water is only up to my knees, no problem so I waded out , set up the intake, stood back and admired my setup. I turned to head back to shore, slipped on a rock, fell over my marine railway and ended up swimming. DAM THAT WATER IS STILL COLD! My buddy (if you know what I mean) pulled a turtle and I doubt I'll see him for a few hours (he doesn't like cold LOL). Nothing hurt but my pride but I am starting to think this kind of work is best suited to the younger guys LOL. Anyway just had my first swim of the season and probably the first swim anywhere in Sturgeon Lake this year! Glad there was no one there with a video camera or that one would have gotten posted on the internet as "what not to do"! LOL

Beans you just had to do it again didn't you? Clean up on Cliff's keyboard and monitor please !

Thanks for the report, glad to hear you are getting a lot of use out of your new toy and are still impressed with it. I really liked the idea of adding the trolling motor to it! I wish I could afford one of them but there are a lot of other things that top my budget list right now. What about servicing them here in Canada? Are there any Canadian sales/service reps? -
Mine was a Mitchel 300, it only lasted 30 or so years!
