Girls Night Out - Some SERIOUS fish here.....
Big Cliff replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
What a wonderful report and beautiful pictures! Thank you so much for sharing and I hope I'll see more reports from you in the future. -
Sinker, it was really nice meeting you and your dad Friday night. Looks like you called it right on the mark as to location. My spot produced as well (where I told you I'd be). Opening night I landed 5 then lost 4 more and had 6 more solid hits before I realized that the back trebble on my crank bait had broken off. by the time I realized what had happened the bite was over. Last night we landed 12 or 13, lost a few more, kept 3 for the table. Again everything from a little guy not much bigger than the lure to a couple of nice solid fish but nothing bigger than about 20". I think it is a really good sign, numbers seem to be up and a wide range of age classes.

I am in Lindsay and I have a 4'X8' utility trailer, I'd be happy to lend it to you is you want., you'd bave a bit of overhang but it should do the trick for you.

I am sure there are plenty of products that "will work" but when I started doing my research some of the things I found about enzyme products is that; they can take a few applications to compleatly work, some people are algeric to some of them, apparently some of them leave a residual odor behind, and sometimes the odor can come back if the humidity is high. Now don't jump all over me for this, I'm not a chemical engineer or anything, I am only relaying what I learned from doing a lot of reading. This NokOut is an oxydizer, it leaves no masking agent behind, and it is non alergenic. As I said in my original post, I had tried a lot of products and this was by far the best of any of them. Use what ever you would like to use, it really doesn't matter to me, just trying to answer a question that was asked based on my experience!

Well, I figured this post would generate a lot of opinions and I'm glad it did. My thought is that any single mother of four who is willing to work for the wages she could get at a place like Tim Horton's instead of sitting on her butt and collecting welfare can't be all bad and to be fired for something as simple deserved a warning at worst! I am very pleased to say that the response I got from my email to Tim Horton's did get answered and I was satisified with the reply and the outcome. hery is a copy of that email: Dear Clifford Bignell: I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us at our Head Office. At Tim Hortons we strive to offer all of our customers friendly and efficient customer service, high quality products in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. In regards to the recent situation with the termination of a staff member in London, Ontario... Unfortunately the action of the manager of this location was not appropriate, nor grounds for dismissal. With an apology from management Ms. Lilliman has been rehired by the franchisee. We sincerely apologize to our customers for this unfortunate incident. Best Regards, Susan Operations Services THE TDL GROUP CORP. _____________________________________- Did the publicity do it? I don't know but I am pleased that if nothing else, she will be given another chance!

Just read an article in the Toronto Sun where a single mother of four was fired from Tim Horton's because she gave a baby a Timbit. Fired for giving away a Timbit I am sure there will be several varying opinions on this but here is a copy of my email to Tim Horton's: "I just read an article in the Toronto Sun where a Tim Horton's employee, Nicole Lilliman was fired for giving a baby a Timbit. Well, as far as I am concerned you guys have hit the bottom of the barrel. You pride yourselves on Community and Goodwill and then you fire an employee for demonstrating that spirit? Where are your brains? As far as I am concerned she should have been given a raise and a promotion. I use to stop at Tim Horton's EVERY morning on my way to work but you know what? Coffee Time will get all my future business, I'll be dammed if I will support an organization that is so hypocritical. That $0.16 Timbit could have gotten you much more in return but your actions will cost you not only an employee but a customer too. Have a nice Day!" OK, so I'm a little cranky until I've had my coffee LOL!

That is a biography that should be published! Very well written! Thanks for sharing it with us.

OK, here is a topic I can offer some advice on with confidance. Get a product called NokOut. I tried it out last year, our dog had gotten skunked full face. We tried everything;Skunk off, you name it, most of them seemed to work but if the dog got wet, the smell came back. A friend told us about NokOut, she uses on her kids sports bags, smelly shoes, cat litter boxes..... so we got some. One application on Andy and the smell was gone and never returned. I was so impressed with the product I decided to try it on my hunting clothing, and on myself. Twice the week before I had been winded by deer and I had tried Dead Down Wind, Code Blue, and a whole lot of other products. I washed my clothing and used NokOut in the rince cycle, about 100 yards from my tree stand I misted the air and let it settle over my then I misted my boots and gear and got up into my stand. Within about 30 minutes a deer walked out right beside the ladder on my stand and just stood there for a few minutes, it wasn't 15' away from me and had no idea I was even in the area. Two nights later a wolf came out about 20 yards down wind of me, again, it had no idea I was even in the area. I was so impressed that I contacted the manufacturer and asked why they didn't market it to hunters and fishermen, they replied that they weren't hunters or fishermen and had no idea there might even be a market for it there. i did some more research on the product and the more I did, the more impressed I was with it. It is totally safe to use on pets or people, I haven't found any odor it doesn't eliminate, stale gas, onions fish, even amonia (which is the base of all urin) it doesn't mask it, it eliminates it! Oh, and no, I don't own shares in the company LOL but I do buy it by the case as the company did agree to give it to me at wholesale for providing them with the idea for the new markets so if you are in the Lindsay area and want some, I'll give it to you at my cost. Here is the URL if you want to get more information on it and find out where you can get it in your area. NokOut Odor eliminator Tell them Cliff Bignell sent you, I want to keep getting it at wholesale LOL. Mods, if you feel this post is in the least inappropriate, please feel free to edit or remove it as you see fit!

Sinker, I just had a good look at my charts and can't find anything that clearly shows the deviding line. I have always believed it was the old railway tressles but I wouldn't want to bet money on it. I also tried to do a search for township maps but other than a referance to some map in a drawer at the library I couldn't find anything that clearly showed any boundries and an extensive search of MNR files wasn't any more productive. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Sounds to me like a Win, Win, Win situation to me

Fishing spots for inexperienced anglers
Big Cliff replied to jonnybass's topic in General Discussion
Over the years I have shared many many fishing spots with others, heck, that's how I met up with Rick on a fishing trip to the French River a lot of years ago. Some of that sharing has resulted in wonderful and long lasting friendships. Sure there have been a few occasions where the information has been taken and used without as much as an acknowledgement of my efforts, sometimes even abused but for the most part it has been respected. One of the things that gives me much pleasure in life is trying to help others be it fishing or anything else and believe me I have been rewarded many times over. I can't even start to count the times members of this board alone have done things to help me, a recent example would be when I posted asking for help to put my dock in this year, the turn out was spectacular! I am a little more careful now on how I give out information on spots etc. I don't post it openly on the internet anymore, many of the places I fish are places that others have shown or taken me. I feel that if they want to share those places then it is up to them. I do think that a lot of it has to do with how you ask. "Could anyone tell me some good fishing spots?" isn't going to get you nearly as much help as "I am planning a trip to Sturgeon Lake in July to do some fishing and wondered if anyone could give me some pointers on where, what, and how to fish there?" being a little more specific in the kind of help you are looking for will give you more specific answeres. If anyone asks me for help now I try to share some of what I do know and will give out some of the spots I have found on my own but I tend to do it by email or PM, I've just found that to be a better way and I must admit that the level of help I give is usually related to the level of willingness to help I have seen the asker demonstrate themselves. -
What do you mean by the lower French? If you are planning on running the shoot to the bay with a 15, you in a lot of trouble boy. Going down will be semi OK but going back up..... It can be done but this boy wouldn't do it and I use to run it all the time! Now if you are talking about from the falls down but not going through the shoot..... That's a different story. I fished that area for many years with everything from a 9.9 to a 25. The Flat Rapids with a 9.9 can be a little dicey in a 9.9, a 15 no problem. let me know what area you are talking about.

It's also turkey hunting season Roy, I'm sure he is being kept really busy with that too!

Many, Many thanks to all who showed up to help putting my dock in for another season, I know I couldn't have done it without your help. It was cold, it was windy, the waves were crashing in on shore but that didn't sway anyone. Beans and Jack did a wonderful job on the BBQ. It was really nice to see some old friends and finally meet up with some new ones. We mean it when we say, "any time" be it for a pit stop, a day, an evening...... any time! I believe Bly got some pictures, I'm sure she will post them when they get home. Thank you Sydney for catching the first, second, and third fish of the new season of the newly installed dock, can't think of a nicer person to start the season off for us. What a beautiful, articulate little girl, she didn't care if it was cold or windy, she went fishing anyway, a real trouper! Sue and I are going to work out a date for a summer G2G for all of you, some fishing, perhaps a mini tournament, some Bocce ball, a fish fry, we'll try to make it when the weather is a bit nicer. With many thanks and much love! Cliff, Sue, & Andy

In desperate need of a lawyer on this board
Big Cliff replied to urbanangler1990's topic in General Discussion
Take that to the funeral home! Should do the trick, if his brother wants to fight that then let him contact a lawyer. Do it now! -
I don't know, wind has picked up, waves are running a good 12-16", water is still about 10-12" higher than normal. I got a feeling I am going to be going swimming but that water sure is cold! Oh well won't be the first time, should make for some good pictures LOL. Sue just put a big pot of hot coffee on, I think next year I'm going to invest in a wet suit or something LOL. Well got to go get things ready!

Well, the rain held off for most of my garage sale yesterday and it looks like today is going to be nice and dry, a bit windy but no rain. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Big Cliff

What a family! -
I am very sorry for your and your mom's loss! I think the most important thing to remember here is that his body may be gone but his spirit will live on. It really doesen't matter what his original family does, what matters is what you do! Keep him in your hearts and his spirit will live on forever! I am sure he would have wanted it that way from the sound of it! Peace be with all of you!

Address is 313 Snug Harbour Rd. Lindsay It is off Hwy 36 If coming along 401 going East exit 115/35, go North and follow 35 to first set of stop lights, that will be Hwy. 7. Turn right on 7 for about 1.5 km (first set of lights) which is 36, turn left on 36. go North on 36 about 9 km to Snug Harbour Rd. Turn left on Snug Harbour Rd and continue for about 3.5 km to 313. Phone is 705-328-0750 I would like to start about 10:00 am so we can get the docks in and enjoy some time together. Bring your kids and fishing rods if you would like, there are plenty of pan fish to be caught right off the dock. I'll have burgers and hot dogs, pop and coffee or tea. Burgers and hot dogs will be served around noon. Stay as long as you like, G2G ends when the last person goes home LOL. About the only rule we have around here is no smoking in the house. If it gets cold or too wet, there is lots of room in the house to warm up or dry off. Please RSVP if you are coming so I can make sure we have enough food. Cliff -

I also have spare waders, size 10 I think! I have all the tools we will need. Sinker, even if you can't get here to help, bring your dad by for a visit and a burger, the work won't take long but the G2G lasts until the last one leaves. Beans, I could probably use some help on the BBQ if you are available! -
The docks are going in this Sunday starting at 10:00 am, rain or shine anyone that can help, it would be most appreciated, anyone that just wants to come for a G2G is most welcome. I will provide some burgers and hot dogs, pop and coffee, bring your spouses and kids. Please give me an idea if you will be coming and how many so I can make sure to have enough food and stuff available. Big Cliff
