  1. I'm not sure it's Ford going too far; I live in a community of about 140 units. A neighbour (retired cop and should know better) just got home from Florida, got in the car with his son and went into town. Later had a bunch of friends stop by for a beer then the son took off to see a couple of buddies. I have missed so many family firsts because I don't want to take a chance that I might be part of the problem then I watch idiots doing crap like this. 😡
  2. So the last time I smoked a whole brisket I didn't trim the fat and I found that I had a lot of grease when I took it out of the foil. This tome I decided to remove some of the fat and render it down. Now if you have ever had scrunchions you know how wonderful they are, well this is what I ended up with. Now I am going to make a big pot of baked beans but instead of pork I am going to use some of this. 😊
  3. Well 15lbs of brisket and two lbs of salmon just went into the smoker now the waiting begins 😊
  4. I live alone, have been tested several times for covid because of medical appointments, always negitive. I have a piece of property in French River, fully serviced lot and a motor coach. I can literly leave here not have to interact with anyone and stay there for the whole summer without having to go into town but under the current guidelines I am not alowed to do that. I might just risk the fine because at my age who knows how many more summers I might have.
  5. You mentione they are in Quebec, is it possible they were closed because of the shutdowns?
  6. Sobeys has whole beef brisket $4.00/LB, not the best price I have seen it but still pretty good. Iam going to grab one tomorrow. Anyone in Lindsay want one let me know, I'll grab one for you. Time to get the smoker going again 😊
  7. Thank you!!!! I really appreciate the feedback.
  8. I have to admit I am totally confused, for every study/report there seems to be another one that contridicts the results of the previous one. I feel there is so much that is unknown: Do people that have been infected have some degree of immunity? Should people that have been infected get the vaccine, one dose, two doses? (One report I heard suggested that people previously infected shouldn't get a second dose of the vaccine, something about a rebound effect?). Why isn't the antibody test readily accessible? Why can a person go to a nursing home, get tested and have the results in 15 minutes but when I have a medical apointment i have to wait up to 4 days for results? If a person has been infected with one form of the virus do they have any resistance to varients? So many questions and so many so called "experts" disagreeing with each other. The fear of the unknown scares me more than anything else.
  9. And to you and your family too my friend
  10. Beautiful
  11. So I woke up and my dog is laying on the back patio covered in dirt with a rabbit in his mouth. The rabbit's not bloody, just dirty. My neighbor's kids raise blue ribbon rabbits. I instantly knew it was one of theirs. 😢 I took the rabbit away from my dog, rushed inside, and washed all the dirt off it before my neighbors could come home. It was stiff but I heard some animals play dead when they are afraid but I couldn't remember which ones. I took it and placed it back in one of the cages in their back yard then I ZOOMED back home. (Don't judge me 😒) Not 30 minutes later I hear my neighbors screaming so I go out and ask them what's wrong? They tell me their rabbit died three days ago and they buried it but now it's back in the cage. 😳
  12. Bingo halls open and people lining up for 3 to 4 hours to get in, drive through the Lindsay bingo hall parking lot and 75% of the license plate frames are from out of town. Go to the Lindsay Mall, again it's obvious many cars are from hot zones. Our license testing center, most of the people there are driving driver training cars that aren't local. What's the point of putting restrictions in place if they aren't going to be followed or enforced.
  13. Thanks Geoff, really appreciate the effort, there seems to be quite a few places that sound promissing but that one color in that particular style is elusive
  14. Thanks, I realize that smaller local shops can't carry everything but I would have thought that the manufacturer could give me the name (s) of some Canadian distributors, I did provide my full name and address.
  15. Thanks, I have sent them an email, hopfully I can purchase them locally, well at least from Canadian based supplier
  16. Last week I reached out to Zoombaits, a while back someone had given me a package of one of their products, limetruse plastic worm. My son and I really liked the product but I hadn't been able to find more and we were almost out of them. I sent Zoombaits an email telling them about our success and explaining I was looking for a Canadian supplier. I got a very brief email back suggesting I contact a vendor in Virginia Beach. A follow up email from me explaining I was looking for a Canadian supplier has gone un answered. It's a great product but by the time I pay exchange, freight and potentially brokerage it's going to be a real PIA.
  17. Amazing what the technology has advanced to. Beautiful picture that only a few years ago would have taken thousands of $ worth of equipment to capture.
  18. Ya, get a quote on getting it done in steel. When I had our roof re done I priced it out with shingels and steel, by the time I factored in the cost to strip, dispose of, and reshingle it was $500.00 more to have it strapped and done in steel. The house ended up cooler in summer, warmer in winter and the paint on the steel roof was guarenteed for 40 years.
  19. I hope you have a wonderful day my friend and that 2021 brings you health and happiness.
  20. I tried the trowel trick once, worked well until I got a little paint on the trowel. I would use plastic, use a trowel to gently push the plastic under the trim nice and neat then paint the trim, that will keep any paint off the carpet.
  21. A friend wanted a lighthouse for her garden, I couldn't find anything that wasn't junk at a price I was willing to pay so I built her this one. It's 3/4" mahogany exterior grade water proof plywood so it should last for a few years. It turned out to be a bit of a challange because trying to cut a taper with a 30* angle so the hex all fit properly with hand tools working outside in the cold was harder than I thought. Anyway, it works, the light is solar powered and rotates and I just earned enough brownie points to last me for at least a year 😊
  22. I really think thats a smart move on your part, a lot of that stuff looks like low end and you would have a hard time getting rid of it at almost any price. I have a box full of stuff that I bought over the years because the price was right, much of it has never even seen water but I might use it some day 😊
  23. More reports on Facebook, many problems, many rescues underway, conditions are very dangerous. Stay off the ice, it's dangerous.
