  1. BB Nice batch of fish!!! :good: But Erie was very angry? At 2-3 feet I would say she may have been mildly annoyed not angry and certainly not very angry. :tease: Angry is 4-6 and very angry is anything over 6.
  2. Clean your fish on an island or several hundred yards away from camp. Only keep enough for that day. If cleaning on a small island you can leave the entrails on a rock by the shore. If on the same shore as camp toss as fars as you can into the lake.
  3. NAH, they'll know you're there from all the grunting and swearing and swatting of black flies!!! Heck they'll hear you 3 portages away!!!! :rofl2:
  4. I paddles fine but the electric does make life easier. A lot of guys use fins for positioning but I have a bad knee which makes it pretty painful. That's one of the reasons I sold my float tube and replaced it with a toon. Rowing is good exercise especially out on the lake.
  5. If you really want to go light one of these pocket chainsaws works well. No axe, no buck saw just a small tin with a piece of chain and rope.
  6. Yes it will!!! Most times any way. My friend had a grizz pushing in on his tent in AK last September and he reared off and drilled it in the nose with a colossal rigut cross and it left the area like it was on fire!!! He did have his trusty 44 mag as backup but firing off a hand cannon inside a nylon tent is a last resort as the muzzle flash instantly melts a giant hole in the tent!!!
  7. You can fit 1 piece rods into beavers and otters. My rod tube fit no problem on last years Attawapiskat trip 7' long 4" diameter pvc tube.
  8. Since we're bringing the generator we may as well bring the Easy Bake Oven so we can have some cupcakes!!
  9. flint and steel fire starter (and matches) toilet paper!!!!! Leatherman Bug Dope Frying pan and ultralight grill compass, map and gps
  10. Top water fishing for Great White Sharks!!! Do you really have to ask why? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XCWT-tBLnD8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  11. Nope. They only produce hydrogen gas when being charged so it's not an issue. If you need to charge it in the boat the cover needs to be removed so there is your venting.
  12. I stick mine in a cheap case and strap it down. This way I don't hve to worry about shorting it out or having the battery go for a swim. I just have a super cheap cover and use a long cam strap wrapped around it and the rear platform. You can see it in this picture behind my seat.
  13. The main knot for tying backing to flyline and leader to flyline is the Nail Knot. Best to get a nail knot tool as it makes tying them so much easier. This is one of the cheapest on the market. Nail Knot Tool How to tie the knot Nail Knot Tying Instructions The next most important knot is the blood knot or the double UNI. It is used for tying tippet to leader and tying tapered leaders (unless you by the knotless ones in the tackle store). Blood Knot Tying Instructions
  14. I used Walkers, Canons and Big Jons when I was chartering on Lake Ontario and all are capable but my favorites for ease of use and simplicity were the Big Jon Captains Pak riggers on my buddies boat.
  15. Treat it just like you would a car or truck. Grab a electric polisher and pre wax cleaner, clay bar, wax and sealer and you should be able to get her looking good. Check out your local car & truck detailing shops for some pro info on what you need to do and advise on products to use.
  16. If you think he truly believes this then you are living in a dream world. It's an election year and he will say anything to get re-elected!!! It's no different than McSquinty telling us all that he wouldn't allow houses to be built on the Oak Ridges Morraine or that there would be no tax increases or cuts to health care. I have no opposition to same sex marriage at all. Everyone should be happy. But I do object to some politician flip flopping just to garner a few votes!!!!
  17. I used to live within walking distance of Luther Marsh, duck opener was insane!!!
  18. Yep!! Don't want to lose any tourist $$$.
  19. No, as you are actually renting the boat. Rentals are exempt from needing to have the boating card. Plus it's not like you'll see any one any how. LOL
  20. I thought we were talking about Italians? :dunno:

  22. I've caught a lot of muskies on spinnerbaits too. Including my PB 53 1/2" fish. :good:
  23. Yeah, if you're going with 100# I would use crimps for making your leaders. I use 40# Seaguar for pike and just tie them on.
  24. Unless the Kings beat them.
