  1. Buy an Icom!!! Probably the best VHF radios made. Nice and small and flush mounts real nice.
  2. Dang, that's a pretty sizable freshwater fish. http://www.scout.com/outdoors/fishing/story/1414970-huge-alligator-gar
  3. I know on Mercs Flo-Torque props have hubs available for Yammy engines. Don't know if the ones with the integral hub will fit though. The Laser has the Flo-Torque hub correct? See different hubs here: http://www.westmarine.com/buy/mercury-marine--flo-torq-ii-hub-kits-and-components--P006_190_002_541
  4. Car audio shop for straight copper or West Marine if you want tinned marine wire.
  5. I have a 4hp 2 stroke as a backup engine on my 18 footer. It will push the boat to 7MPH. My boats dry hull weight is 950#'s. Then you add 3 batteries, an 80# TM, 18 gallons of fuel a 115 HP 4 stroke and a couple of anglers so 7 MPH is fine. My guess is you will get similar speeds with the 2.5 at WOT.
  6. Cabling us pretty easy. There are usually one or two multi-pin connectors under the engine cover that need to be disconnected. Then there are the throttle and shift cables, fuel lines and battery cables and of course steering.
  7. Doesn't anybody watch the commercials on the teevee anymore? If you can make an airboat out of screens and the bottom of a tin boat with a screen door....... https://www.getflexseal.com/
  8. Other than routine maint. this is all that has ever been needed.
  9. Yes it is. But the brainy engineers in Japan figured it would be better to have it mount from the inside behind the motor. Personally I would have had it bolt in from the outside. But I'm no engineer!!!
  10. Yes, RS Venture GT. the 1049cc big block version.
  11. Ordered up a new rad for the sled @ lunch today. Not totally insane price either @ $350. Now the fun part. Seems I was right in assuming you have to completely disassemble the sled to replace it. The shop says it's 16 hrs labour. Glad I know haw to do things for myself. Even the motor has to be removed to get the thing out.
  12. Crew Members From The Show 'River Monsters' Saw Something Nuts While Filming One Day APRIL 19, 2016 It's safe to say that most "reality shows" are, in fact, out of touch with reality, right? Well, maybe not. One day, crew members working on the reality show "River Monsters" were filming near a remote island off the coast of Australia. They were looking for one particular monster, as they tend to do, but found something bizarre instead. While they were driving their boat around the island, a cameraman suddenly saw something in the distance. Fortunately for us, he kept filming as the situation unfolded.
  13. Pretty simple to disable all of that reporting software. All you have to do is go into privacy settings and toggle off all of the ones you want to disable. If you don't want it automatically updating you can tell it that your internet connection is metered and then it will ask you if you want to update.
  14. We had 8 loaded on tablets and it was as bad or worse than trying to use it on a laptop or desktop.
  15. There are ways around automatic update in Windows 10. I happen to like Windows 10 much, much better than 8 or 8.1. I hated Windows 8 variants with a passion. What a horrible, useless POS that OS is.
  16. Yep, time to run him. What a puss!! Boyle does a mean chicken dance though.
  17. Well today didn't go exactly as planned. Got my doors, couches and these two windows up to the cabin. While taking these windows up I going a bit too slow and got stuck at the last section of my hill and spun the track and buried the sled. Ended up catching a piece of gravel with the track and it hit my rad and put a hole in it. Day over!!!! Tomorrow I'll have to figure out hot to get the rad out of my sled and hopefully it can be welded up. Have to borrow a buddies sled next week and get my windows in before it's too late. Time for rum and hockey!!!
  18. If i can get my 115 on my 18 footer down to 2 MPH you should have no issues with that 40 on your 16 footer.
  19. Pegging your beads is so 2005!!!!

  21. Most of my homies in Alaska partake of the herb. Most smoke it quite a bit and they don't remind me of Cheech & Chong at all. They are pretty darn normal in fact. Well, most of them. It has been legal do have up to an ounce in possession there for quite a long time and now it is completely legal and going to be taxed like other sins.
  22. Plenty of ways to fish without riggers. Dipsey's, wire line or lead core as well as trolling sinkers can all be used. You can also use bottom bouncers to get your lures down deep. I will even troll very slowly with a 1-2oz jig and catch fish. My rod holders are mounted just in front of me so they are easy to access when a bite happens. Between me and the console on the gunnel. The other is in the same place on the other side. I also have mounts forward and at the back but for most of my fishing I use the middle ones. I was looking to see if I had any pics of my rod holders in and I don't seem to have any.
