It is up to the angler to know the difference. Ignorance to the regs is no excuse. Next time it happens and you see it, call the tips line with a license plate number and description. Encourage the person to stay around until the MNR show up or have his picture taken with the fish.

Excellent segue there Joey. Bass population in the Kawarthas is growing too. By the way, I drink my coffee black, those who drink it with milk or cream may as well be poachers......and I like console vs. tiller, so sue me.

On-line poker is not rigged. As some earlier posts state, the money is passed around from player to player with the house taking a rake or getting a fee for tournament entry. Getting beat on 3 straight 95% favourite hands is a tough outcome to face, but the house did not win your money, another player did. Each play of the cards is random, no matter what it seems like. As far as on-line poker, yes I do play. And I perceive my skill (yes, poker is a skill) to be above average. It takes brains and mathematics skill and an ability to read players (this can be done live, and on-line, by studying betting petterns, tendencies etc). You cannot judge a player's skill on how much they have won or lost in the short-term, less than 5-7 years IMO. Poker is a long-term investment, your bank-roll will fluctuate up and down depending on the run of the cards (luck, or lack thereof), and the skill of the people you play against. In the end the most skilled players will win in the long run. Daniel Negreanu is a great poker player and ambassador to the game. He does get "lucky" and pull the odd card on the turn or river, but so does everyone else from time to time. What sets him a part from others is the way he can read people and their betting patterns. Watch a few episodes of a recurring poker game on TV, it is eerie the way he can call other's hands. When he calls and is beat, so be it, but the reason he calls is not generally because he "knew he had it" it's beacuse the pot is giving him the right odds to call. In the end if he keeps calling with the right odds, he will win in the long run.

I have not tried the harder levels yet. Finished it on easy. After beating it my goal was to finish it on easy without losing any lives. Very difficult task! I have not been able to do it. My PB so far is a score of 5391 with 17 lives left. My PB so far is a score of 5380 with 18 lives left. My PB so far is a score of 4507 with 19 lives left. My strategy was to use the cheap towers and create a zig-zag maze all the way from top to bottom. I would then level up 13 of the cheap towers (less money and they hit for more damage than the squirters). This is how I got the 19 lives PB. The only thing I couldn't kill with this strategy was the boss flyer at level 49. It is by far the hardest thing to kill. The missle launchers are the only way to do it that I have found and you need to level one all the way to the top and have another one leveled to the second highest level. That takes a lot of gold though and by forgoing the shooters (missle launchers only work on planes) the boss on level 48 gets through. If someone can determine a strategy to beat the easy level with 0 lives lost, let me know! Great game Rick - thanks for making my long weekend one where I sit in front of the computer!

It's great when you can entertain them using something educational. Thanks for the post, might make a nice b-day gift for my 4 year old nephew.

I am going to tackle the transom of my 1989 Springbok Aluminum in the next couple of weeks. This is a fully size bass-boat type set-up. I noticed a little bowing in the transom last year and checked out the wood and it seemed in pretty rough shape in spots. I have read a lot about this project on other forums and am going to tackle it like so: Laminate at least two 3/4" marine plywood, to make at least 1.5". Yes I am using marine ply, not PT or ACX, ABX and going to pay for it. I am not playing around with $50-$100 bucks here or there when that transom holds a 300-400 pound Evinrude 150. I want to do it right, but by myself for the satisfaction. I will get the true thickness when I pull the Motor off and get a look at the existing wood. Question 1 - Any hints/tricks at unhooking/pulling the motor off the boat? It's a 1989 Evinrude 150HP. Heavy. I have a motor lift to use (and a front-end loader it the lift isn't high enough), more worried about detaching the wires, controls etc. from the motor. Is there a place I need to hook on to the motor, or some special thing to use to lift it off the boat? Question 2 - I have read to use 2 part epoxy to laminate the ply, running the wood in opposite directions. Where do I get the epoxy? All the stuff I have read on the web talks about US suppliers - Where can I get something in Canada? I want this thing to be bullet proof when I am done. Question 3 - Waterproof the final product made after question 2, by covering/painting with epoxy. Is this the same epoxy used in step 1? If not what do I use? Question 4 - Re-hanging the motor. What bolts do I use and where do I get them. Do I need to torque them and to what spec? I want to use new bolts, not the originals. Do I need to do anything special to "align" it on the new and hopefully improved transom? Any comments/hints/tips/general support is be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Update with Report! My wife and I went out on Saturday and found 3 caches all within a 10 minute drive of our house. One in Lakefield by the whats his name was a return trip as we missed it the first time. What a gorgeous place - definitely going back and looks like a great fishing spot too. Some of these are areally tough to find and are hidden real well. Has to be because some people find them by accident and destroy them from what I have read. Some real nice walking and some great exercise. The thrill of the hunt leaves an unquestionable "high" and when you find it, all the better. I suggest to everyone to give this a shot. Would be great for people with kids or for a family long weekend activity.

Hey all. Been a long time since I started a thread, but since spring is here, I thought I would give it a shot. I bought a GPS Last December and have been waiting patiently for fishing season to give it a try on the water, but I wanted to put it to use in other ways. I have been using it on weekend trips to make my way around the province, but I needed something more. I heard about geocaching and want to give it a shot and now that the weather is nicer, I don't have any excuses. It seems like a really interesting activity that gets you outrside and also some exercise, which I desperately need after being cooped up inside for the winter. I did a quick search on geocaching.com and was surprised to see there are litterally hundreds of geocaches with 1/2 hour or so of where I am. My wife and I are going to head out this afternoon to try and find some of these little treasures. I am really excited about it. A really interesting thing is that sometime people place coins or other artifacts in the caches that they would like to travel the world. Someone will find the cache, take the item and place it in another caches. A log is kept on-line of where the coin (or whatever) has travelled. I guess it is important in this case to update where you placed it on-line. One coin I read about made it from Australia to Siberia and touched 6 of 7 continents and is still going strong - pretty interesting stuff. Great way to enjoy the outdoors it seems and could be a great Family bonding experience. Share your thoughts and experiences if you will.....

I had Home Depot Install a door. I was not happy. After researching, unfortunately after the fact, I found I could have gotten it installed for about half the price had we found our own installer. Simple math and common sense says that HD must make money on the product and the install, but they pay the installer and keep a portion. That says to me they upcharge the install. They do have good product, but find you own installer if you go that route, IMO.

I have a Magellan Explorist 500. I like it a lot. The most up-to-date street turn-by-turn map software was expensive, about $200. I did have some difficulty in dealing with Customer Service, but after my issues were resolved I like the unit. It has a lot of features and I got a steal at 55% off at CTC. I have not yet purchased the Eastern Lake Ontario map yet, waiting for the softwater season, but if it is good as the road mapping software I will be a happy camper.

My wife and I were caught in Mexico during hurricane Wilma. The power and destruction was immense. We made it through, but I would never, never want to ride out one ever again. We were not there by choice, just not evacuated in time, it came on too quick. It was the first hurricane to build to a category 5 in less than 24 hours and still hit land. We were within 5-8 k.m. of the eye coming ashore and felt it's calm. Eerie. Hope you all never have to ride one out.

This is not true. You own the land your house is built on. The municipality can have an "easement" to allow use of your property to get to municipally owned land or structures (like sanitary sewers for manitenance), but you own the land. I don't even think the municipality can expropriate your land (for purposes of airport/highway/road), I think only the Provincial or Federal Government can do that. Even if the Minicipality wanted to expropriate land from someone it would definitley go to and Ontario Municipal Board hearing, so in the end the Provincial Government would be making the decision anyway. When land is expropriated they must give you fair compensation, they can't just take it, as far as I know. For example, when they were building the 407, I heard of a number of old Farmers that made a killing on getting their land expropriated (or, bought) by the Provincial Government. Something that may happen again when the 407 is extended to Hwy. 115 by 2013. I think this is off topic...sorry.
