Yea it's pretty sick how a Merc tech and just plug in a laptop and and check out how many hrs the motor has on it but it can also tell you where them hrs where logged at every RPM range. The Smart Craft gauge is a very unique feature and works very well with Opti's for being a 2-stroke motor. Check with Merc they will know the answer

Well i know for a fact that, for a Merc the 2-Stroke is the way of the fossil. Mercury has stopped production of all conventional 2-stroke's but they still make Optimax. So the four strokes are the way of the future. Cleaner for the environment, quieter, better on gas, no smoke and weight wise it's about 85Lbs a 2-stroke will come in about 10-15lbs lighter. If you go to the Merc website 2-stroke's aren't even listed anymore.

A Rude or a Yammy are great choices. One thing i did hear was if you buy a yammy from the states and it is registered in the States then the warranty is not valid in Canada. Just double check that before you buy

You should be able to mount a scissor mount trolling motor on your Legend. It will over hang but the mount bolts will be on the mounting area. It is normal for it to over hang. I been trying to get a template for you but i can't find one yet. On that Hull we normally use a 48" shaft but i think the edge comes in a 50" shaft which is fine

Have you considered buying a new boat with full warranty? i think for the price you are looking at you can get a pretty decent boat in that price range, Just a thought

What happened was the Eagle unit was suppose to be on sale for 299 but they didn't have any stock so to honor the deal they substitute the eagle for the HDS-5. There was only 50 units total.
