Well after a few years of crappy fishing on georgian bay, and a couple of years of talking about trying lake ontario my dad and i finally tried her out. They were calling for pretty crappy weather for us but i think we got extremely lucky. We stayed at my uncles place in scarborough, and fished july 1st in the evening and july 2nd in the morning. We managed to get three rainbows and one salmon at the 15lb mark. It was a good go and we hope to get down once more hopefully in august. Heres a few pics from the action.

Well headed north with my dad AKA "fisherman" for some bass fishing on saturday. After landing a nice little smallmouth on my first cast with the hulapopper i figured we were going to have one of those days. The visibility in this lake gets real crappy in a hurry once the water warms up, but we could still see a good 5-6ft down which was a good sign. I think we honestly landed 40+ bass and atleast a dozen walleye between the two of us. Got this guy on the green tube i was pitching near a fallen tree for a bass..lol Got this guy on our way back to the launch. Another confused walleye biting my favourite bass tube... Big fish of the day! Although my dad could give a pretty good argument And here he is with a walleye. Though i took a pic of him with a bass, but guess not..lol All and all a wicked day except for my light action mitchell going overboard with a bass attached on the other end... but we won't talk about that... Cheers guys and happy fishing!

The Spanish river that flows right through town should still have some walleyes in it. I was there about a month ago and the fishing was pretty decent lots of pike in there too. You don't have to go far.

Yup all about down sizing. Worse comes to worse might have to pick myself up one of these bad boys and i can start scooter pooling with a few guys from work!

Could we be the generation that runs out of fish?

I read this article on a different site the other day and it made me sick to my stomach. It boggles the mind to think about some of the things large companies are willing to do just to make a buck today, only to completely screw the future. -
^^^ We have a winner! But seriously, it is all about being independant and will be more and more everyday. My personal goal is to one day live self sufficiently by going off the grid with solar, wind, and geothermal. I know it may sound far fetched but i hope to one day achieve this. Then i can buy a little plug in electric car for errands and going to work, and keep the truck at home for the weekends. I then won't have to worry so much about being bent over with ever increasing fuel costs.

So Canada has just put in 10.5 Billion in GM

Bad economics all around. Things like this are going to make this recession that much longer and painful. Oh did anyone read the article about two weeks ago on how part of GM's restructuring plans involves importing cars from China starting in 2011? -
Well last friday a few fellas from work and myself headed up to Spanish for our third annual walleye trip. We were hoping for better weather than last year because man was it cold last year. We arirved at Vances resort about 3pm that afternoon. Weather was better and some fish had moved into the river. The first two days we spent trolling the river with worm harnesses. Fishing was slower than i had hoped but we did get a bunch of fish. The third and final day we went out into the bay and trolled various rapalas with some pretty good sucess. The total was about 50 walleye and 10 pike between the four of us. Many fish we caught, many fish were released, a few were eaten, and many tales were told till 1am wiskey in hand...lol. All together it was an awsome trip! Hope to do it again next year. Heres a few pics from the action.

I was up to the big chute on may 18, so the upper side of the severn in that area. It was nice because they had not yet opened that section of the trent so there was hardly any boat traffic. Anyways i know some good spots in the fall for walleye but not in the spring. We tried lots of different spots that i though looked good on the chart, with not much luck except for rock bass and sunfish. At around 12:30 we decided to try one last spot and we ended getting in to a few nice walleyes and a few good sized crappie to boot. So to answer your question they are biting up there for sure just keep trying new spots. We caught all of our fish on green go get'ers with worms, in about 10-15ft of water. Hope this helps.

Went up there last year late june for a friends bachelor party, fishing was pretty good for walleye and pike. Planning on going back up this year in a few weeks, pretty nice boat in camp sites east of 69. I didn't have any maps or anything last year but was able to locate fish on some under water points on the fish finder. There are lots of unmarked navigational hazards so watch out.

Anyone up north already? How are the black flies?

They were starting to get thick in this afternoon in parry sound, when the wind wasn't blowing. -
Just another typical cash grab. More taxes and fees means more regulation and enforcement = more taxes and fees, bigger goverment which leads to ...... not even going to say it!

I went out with a few friends out of foot's bay last weekend. We fished two areas both had around 16 inches or so but only the bottom 6-8 inches looked nice and black. The areas of open water around peoples docks was getting very large. We caught ots of trout but they were all tiny none over a pound and a half.

I would'nt call the conditions on the notty as of late great but they aren't too bad. In the springtime in my mind, on the notty you can't beat a nice dew work fished on bottom with an egg sinker. Think i might go and try it this weekend myself...

I would not doubt the rumour you've heard is true. Honda is months ahead on the production on most of their vehicles. They usually run days or weeks ahead on inventory.

Well headed out of bbp on simcoe today. Tried a few different depths from 65-110ft marked quite a few fish at all locations. Moved one last time around 11 and found some active whities. Between 11:30 and 1:00 i iced three and lost several others. Quite a nice day out there. Had to cross a few pressure cracks to get out the but the were fairly solid and we had no real issues. Gonna give it one last try tomorrow.

Yep... sure was nice out there today Got into a few whities myself after moving around a few times and finding some active fish.

Mind you i only drove where plent of other trucks, vans, and cars had already been out and i didn't cross any pressure cracks out there! Ice was creaking like crazy out there today though under my truck too kinda made me nervous.... -

Well a pretty good weekend on simcoe. Anyhow i'll give you the rundown. Friday night i wasn't sure where i was going to head put for saturday morning. Woke up saturday morning 5:30am debated on going to the fishing for tyler event. So, gave the old man a call at 5:45am (AKA Fisherman) believe it or not he does go fishing from time to time! He picked me up we headed to innisfil registered for the event jumped in the argo and decided to go for a tour around the north end of fox island to search for some lakers/whities. Poked some holes in a few spots from 40-90 feet marked a few fish, but nothing really doing. So around 9:30 we figured we'd head back and try to find some perch. So we started heading back and inbetween the islands and the west side my dad says lets just stop here for a few minutes. So we stoped threw the finder down and started marking fish right away! What a fluke, not two minutes later i pulled up a 4 pound white. So needles to say we set up and started fishing serious. Over the next 1-2 hour we lost 3-4 more and my dad caught a nice white on the ultra light. Packed it in at 11:30 and headed back. Sunday my dad and i decided we'd head out to the same spot as the day before. Set up at roughly 8:00am. Marked a few fish on the finder but not a whole lot. So, i decided we should head off another 500 yards or so away the whitefish couldn't have gone far from the day before. Almost five minutes after we set up we started marking a tonne of fish. The action was good for about an hour then it died right down. We each ended up getting one whitie each, and my dad lost a nice one that just kept peeling the drag like crazy! Today i hooked up with a friend of mine who isn't huge into fishing but wants to get into it more. I told him we should get into a few fish but no garantees. Went out the the same spot as sunday set up by about 8:00am started marking a few fish immediatly. Fish were checking out the bait but not biting. Around 10:00am the fish came through thick and started hitting pretty aggressivly. I ended up getting four with a nice personal best 6+pound whitie. My friend did get one little guy that we let go to grow bigger and stronger for another day. Pretty good weekend on simcoe nice weather nice fun derby on saturday couldn't ask for much more!

Nice whitie man! I can't wait for this day to be over 4 days in a row of hitting simcoe for me!
