  1. We've had the storm hit us... Nothing spectacular (I love thunder/lightening!).. mostly a light show! ...With a few sprinkles in between.
  2. When are you heading to Sarnia? I may be heading this weekend... Leaving Friday I think.
  3. I posted the SAME EXACT question too! hahaha http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34960 I'll be fishing from SHORE though; that might be the only difference.
  4. Hey Folks, I'm heading to Sarnia, Ontario next weeked - Was just trying to get a general consensus of what species can be caught from SHORE. As far as what I've heard/been told... Dusk brings good Walleye at the Blue Water Bridge... I mostly fish from SHORE (as mentioned) but in terms of location, I'm usually near the "Blue Water Bridge"... or the Seaway Rd/Harbour Rd near the Marina. I'm not asking for your favourite spots/secret locations (But if you feel like a nice Guy/Gal, I'd be happy to hear from you!) ... I was just wondering what SPECIES are plentiful this time of year (around the area). The last time I was in Sarnia, I caught my 1st 'Brown' trout! Pretty exciting... Anyway, Thanks in advance to whomever gives their input! Fella Angler, Rob
  5. Awesome stuff dude, CONGRATS!! Dave Mercer, better watch out bud - Looks like you've got some serious competition heading your way!
  6. What was the weapon of choice? I just got back from CT and picked up a few of my fav's!
  7. LMAO!! Hahahaha... ya right!! That's pretty awesome - at 1st I was thinking of the REAL thing... was gonna say, keep it and make it an aquarium pet! Then you have a "story" behind WHY you have it as a pet!
  8. Where the pics you promised dude?!
  9. hehe... Its a PERSONAL BEST! hehehe... Now I'm betting you're aching to catch a 35"+.....Nice fish! I caught my 1st ever pike earlier this year too!
  10. Awesome, I'm gonna check the Zellers in Toronto.... See if they've got anything going on - Thanks for the headsup Weeds!
  11. Sweet!! Looks like a "Panther Martin"... Where did ya pick it up from?
  12. Thanks MJL for clarifying such a n00bi3 question....
  13. I apologize it I sound really noobi3 - but I have this stupid willingness to want to learn more about this style of fishing... Anyway, this is my floatreel.... stupid question? but this is considered Backplated? :dunno:
  14. There's Grundy Lake up north. Good PP...but also has that "wilderness" experience you and the boys are after. Cant believe I missed this post! :S
  15. I'm SO NEW to this type of fishing - I have no idea what's going on! What the heck is a backplate? (I assume its solid looking?) Is it something you can 'BUY' to ADD to the floatreel/centrepin? Or is it a specific STYLE of Floatreel/Centerpin? I'm such a n00bie to this fishing style!
  16. I personally feel that WIRE LEADERS ruin the action of the lure (depending on its size)... I personally prefer LEADER MATERIAL.
  17. LMAO! Seriously, eh! Hahahaha...I love that picture btw! Its funny as h3ll...
  18. Awesome report! I wish/need to head to a place that has fish of that magnitude!! Btw, I've been meaning to ask you (Since I've joined) - What the heck are you doing in the Cooler?
  19. .... Throw lures (as mentioned above) in habitat PIKE/WALLEYE/PERCH would be found. Basic rule of thumb (and I'm sure everyone knows): Find the Baitfish, Finds the Bigger Fish.
  20. BIG PIKE normally are DEEPER WATERS in summer.... Spring time, they tend to all hangout in shallow back bays. (I think winter too). Do it the old fashioned way....Read books or check some articles online... you'll find TONS of things. Try THIS LINK I got my books from there and read up on it. In terms of lures... RAPALA's HUSKY JERK is a classic PIKE lure... Just check it out online or read some books (either buying or going to the library). goodluck!
  21. DanielM is right - looks like a Telescopic rod to me too... Try holding the rod @ 90 Degree position... lift it up about 2ft off the ground, then drop it (while your hands are in an "O" shape, so not to drop the rod)... the top portion of the rod SHOULD collapse about 4-6" shorter.
  22. Holy smokes!! That's a MONSTER! Great catch! Congrats and Goodluck tomorrow!
  23. Same question.....
  24. Some (if not a lot) of people use "Mozilla Firefox" now.... I think that's what TC10Z meant. That's got me curious, I wonder what BROWSERS most OFC'ers use.... I use Google Chrome and Firefox. (I switch from time to time)
  25. Nice, how deep were they?
