I'm not rethinking anything all of us posted in that argument it's an example of why some great Ontario outdoors people aren't on ofc anymore
-
sarcasm, like I said many times before, I'm going to do what's best for my family and me you and jeff should-

this doesn't having anything to do with Rick, I consider Rick a friend but here's an example of a fb thread pertaining to how people get alienated from the ofc boys club dozens of great Ontario outdoors people have left OFC Sunnybrook Health Sciences CentreLike Page April 30 at 1:27 PM · With N95 masks in limited supply worldwide, Sunnybrook is developing and testing an alternative form of the personal protective equipment using a modified full-face snorkel mask, should the need arise. “This is an unprecedented time that is highlighting the need for innovative solutions to the challenges health-care workers are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Dr. Brian Courtney, a cardiologist, engineer and scientist at Sunnybrook. Dr. Courtney is working with engineer and interventional cardiologist fellow at Sunnybrook, Dr. Brian Li. Both are leading teams of engineers, entrepreneurs and physicians in developing and testing the N95 alternative, as well as tie-back surgical masks that can be made in-house. The masks will only be used if their safety and effectiveness can be ensured through aggressive testing and only in the event that our supply runs out. These projects were also made possible thanks to a community of generous donors, including Canadian Tire and its Product Development Team for their support and gift of 1,100 full-face snorkel masks. His family runs a resort catered to fishing and family fun. Others like Kevin too might take offense had you said these things on the fishing site. I think it's going to be a disaster Rob. Lots of outfitters will get screwed and lose their shirt. Things were booming before this virus. I know 1 up and coming outfitter that just went all in and paid a lot of money to buy some solid camps, bad timing, I hope they can make it through this. I've got friends that own a Water Depot in Oakville, they're basically screwed unless the gov't introduces something new, something that us taxpayers will eventually pay for... it's just an ugly mess

I don't post stuff I don't believe to be true. If you want a picture of a ticket, bet me a case of beer I can't get a picture of a ticket? The cops have been picking off cottagers and non essential travelers, but your odds of getting stopped are slim. I just went back to the city for a night and coming back up the 400 today it was busy, guys towing boats, ATVs, enclosed trailers, utility trailers with lumber, it's obvious these guys aren't essential travelers but the hwy was loaded with them this afternoon
-
I listened to a radio interview today with the mayor of Algonquin Highlands a couple interesting things- boat launches are open, it sounded like partly because they don't have the resources to sign, block off and enforce, but they're open -marinas are deemed non essential and must stay closed, 1 marina has requested police presence for this weekend because some of the owners of the stored boats there are getting ornery and making threats, lol
-
I don't write stuff I don't believe is true. If you're confident I'm full of crap, bet a $100 and I'll do the leg work and try to get a picture of a ticket? I heard more of the story today- 3 groups of cottagers who knew each other, headed to the same place, driving in separate cars, the cop pulled over 1 of the cars and the other 2 cars also stopped, the cop nailed the 2 drivers who refused to return to their primary residence you don't recall correctly, I'm not telling anyone anything, I'll say it again, I'm at my cottage for the last 6 weeks because I feel it's safer and more enjoyable for my family and I, and my family is far more important than what incompetent politicians like doug ford say

flying squirel nest in my outboard, what to do?
chris.brock replied to chris.brock's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
I didn't know what the little pink things I was looking at were OI, my wife noticed skin from the arms to the legs and figured it out, the mom looks like a short, fat red squirrel, more brown than red with big black eyes and a bushy dark tail, I've seen them gliding down to bird feeders at night I probably stuffed this whole thing up too, but at least we tried and put in some effort, I think it shows an appreciation for nature and life -
no, he talked to each of them directly, he runs a small marina/ boat storage operation thing if you want to back up your opinion with a wager, $100 or whatever, I'll post a picture in a week of a $750 ticket from hwy 35 from one of these cottagers?

I looked closer, at the top and back of the the cowl, where you would put your hand to pull up and tilt the motor or take the cowl off, it's not a direct passage but it's not sealed off easy access for critters who can squeeze through small gaps mine's a Yammi too, maybe check your V Max Akri too when you go to store it -
stocked brookies are open year round here so Chuck and I made a long hike into a lake on Thursday, not a single bite! how's that for a report Nick, lol
-
That's my opinion too. From the WHO right on down, federal, provincial, and all the so called expert advisors, total incompetence, resulting in thousands of lives needlessly lost I talked to, from a distance, a busy body guy who lives up here in Haliburton and knows a lot of cottagers, he's heard of 3 incidents of cops pulling over cottager's cars on hwy 35 and telling them to go home, 2 refused and got $750 tickets

I haven't taken a close look yet, but my motor is electric start only, there's some foam crap she may have squeezed around where the pull chord would normally be on the manual start model? -

Akri, I'll nutshell it, lol -built a birdhouse with a hinged roof from materials laying around -took the cowl off, momma blasted out to the closest tree -I put the nest and Wuhan etc into the birdhouse and tacked it to a nearby tree, 15' up -I watched from a social distance, momma came back, sniffed around the outboard, then just sat there frozen, for a long time, not moving and didn't seem to notice the house that was close by -I moved back in, she scared off, I took down the house and bungied it to the out board and watched from a social distance -she came back, sniffed around, then went into the house, I left -the next day I wanted to see if she was tending Wuhan and Huawei etc or had abandoned the whole thing, I opened the roof but couldn't see or hear anything coming from inside because of all the dried grass and crap for the nest, I used a stick to open the nest and she rocketed out, bounced off me and went somewhere -I moved the house from the outboard to the closest tree, 8' up -the next day I checked the house and again she was in there and exploded out now I'm done and won't check it anymore -
How long did it take you to learn to fish?
chris.brock replied to b_cdot's topic in General Discussion
I do feel there are some true naturals, I've known a few, and for some guys, even with hard work, fishing will always be just drowning worms, that's fine though, this is a hobby for enjoyment, not a competition there are also guys who don't post much, if anything online, that can smoke those true naturals who post stuff -

lol what? -
I talked to a cottage neighbor, from a distance, he got pulled over on the 400, the cop asked where you headed?, it was obvious the way the car was packed and the kids in the back, he said going to the cottage the cop said no, turn around, head back home he said, we have all our supplies, there's no travel ban, sorry but I'm going the cop said here's a $750 ticket, have a good weekend, lol

It's like swatting a mosquito, yeah, that one ain't gonna be back, but there's plenty of others that will damn, if we'd just hurry up and make everything concrete and asphalt we wouldn't have these problems
