What a pleasant surprise! Against all odds, especially that hot weather. A large Smallmouth is a bonus!

Glad to see you were able to make it! There's a lot of history in that area. Lake Nipissing figured prominently with French fur traders as a 'highway' plied with their birch bark canoes. Imagine what the fishing might have been like, say 300 years ago!

It seems kinda nice, you can wear a jacket, and be comfortable, instead of those dog days. But i guess the drawback is the bite is tougher, unless yer fishing a river.

Yeah, they're partyers on the BOQ. I caught a fully cooked rack o' ribs while ice fishing on the Rush bar, close to Snake Island.
