Recommendation on sunglasses that truely polarized & 100% UV?
cram replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
If it helps: - glass is better than plastic for optics. Less scratchy too. More expensive, and can be heavier. - colour of the lenses can be important. Copper is a good universal colour for tea stained water. Green for green or clear water (you'll see a lot of ocean guys wearing green/blue costas). - Dark grey is best for brightest days, but sucks when it's not. You can get polarchromic lenses which darken with brightness and visa versa. I have this in mine, though not sure how well it works. -

I'm not saying that a 200 dollar pair is 10x better than a 20 dollar pair......but to say there's no difference is absurd. I know a lot of fly fishermen who would emphatically disagree with you. Put on a pair of Costas (glass, not plastic) or Smiths and compare them to your 20 dollar rapala or bass pro glasses. If the difference in what you can see isn't obvious, then I guess your "facts" are better than my "opinion". -

You should try it before judging. The expensive ones are often much better. -

I have Smith Optics, and they're great. KickingFrog - I can definitely tell the difference between those and my cheaper ones. Could be because of Smiths are glass and the others plastic, but I think it's more than just that. -
2 days to go before the "X" goes on your ballot. NF

So our GDP is 3-4 times theirs. You're right though - 4% increase in pop to 2013. I thought it was 7 or 8. -

I don't like the OLP, but just to clear up some of the misleading "facts" quoted in this thread. - Our debt may be 2x Ukraine's, but isn't our GDP 3 or 4 x larger? - We may have added 100,000 public sector jobs since 2009 (representing an 8% jump from 2009 levels), but hasn't our population increased by 7 or 8% since then as well? - Hudak isn't planning to kill full day kindergarten. He just wants to reduce the staffing. Personally I wish he'd do the former. I think the OLP needs to go to the penalty box and pay for what they've done. I do think the PCs have a platform based on mistruths and lies, but assuming their only chance is to win a minority government they can be bumped again in the near future anyway. If the OLP does get in with a minority gov, keep in mind that they'll be partnering with the NDP to get anything passed. That means even MORE taxes and special programs. -
I will bet you all of your fishing gear that you're wrong. :-) The reaction IS an immune reaction. You actually get more sensitive the more frequently you're exposed.
-
It's actually the opposite. If you don't react to it, it's because you have no immune reaction. |Those who react are having an immune reaction. Sinker, you'll now react to it in the future....your body has developed an immune response. That could fade with time, but it's unlikely to go away.

Will you be asking about the OMNR to those that approach your door?
cram replied to Gerritt's topic in General Discussion
Is the middle class really disappearing, or is it just changing? We are losing manufacturing jobs for sure.....but I see a lot of middle class people in software and IT jobs. It's a different economy now. No one (including Hudak) is bringing manufacturing back to Ontario. At least not in a big way. -

I wish there was a "none of the above" option, and if that ends up winning....the parties have to pick someone else to run in place of Wynne/Hudak. -
That's pretty sad if you ask me, and I'm a big fan of MMA.

Need recommendations for SUV all season tires NF
cram replied to Tomcat's topic in General Discussion
Whoops -- for some reason i thought you wanted snow tires (which would've been weird this time of year). Editing/correcting my note. +1 on the michelins. Also tried continental cross contacts (based on recommendations from a couple of tire review sites) and the shop couldn't get them balanced. Switchec over to michelins and they've been great. -
I thought the new smokercraft hulls were supposed to be great in terms of getting on plane.......guess not

My point is, that stuff is only exposed if the ice melts.....and many of the arctic countries (including ours) are investing a lot of $ to position themselves around it. If the governments were making all this up, why would they simultaneously be betting large on the ice melting? -

Knightfisher -- my point is, if the arctic wasn't melting why are so many countries lining up to fight each other for what's underneath the ice? Why is China working hard to get included? Do you think they're all pretending? -

Knightfisher, here's a survey for you: 1. Do you believe that CO2 is a greenhouse gas? Yes or no? 2. Do you believe that CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is increasing? Yes or no? 3. If you believe 1 and 2, then what's the conspiracy?? Further: 1. Do the last few years not feel different to you? |They sure do to me. 2. If it is a conspiracy, why are the arctic countries all positioning like crazy (and investing $) to claim oil and mineral rights up there as the ice melts? Why is China working like crazy to get included as an arctic country? Do you think they are all "pretending" as part of the conspiracy to get your tax dollars? -

I won't try to change your mind about climate change, but that "Friends of Science" org is run by and funded by oil companies in Calgary. They don't even try to hide it. Take a look at who funds it and who runs communications for it.
