  1. Sorry Mr. Topwater.. I thought they were illegal. Looks like I'm wrong!
  2. I mean illegal to use in Ontario. Not possess.
  3. Illegal in Ontario (i think). Where'd you buy them?
  4. I was fishing one morning and a baby beaver swam right up to the edge of the boat, looking up at me as I cast. The mother was pretty freaked out, smashing the water over and over until the baby got bored of looking at me and swam away.
  5. Must be very cool to have those around. Sure beats muskrats!
  6. Are they (otters) as playful as advertised?
  7. Something I've never seen in the wild is an otter.
  8. There's something I've always called a marten that's about the size of a small cat. Longer body, but cat-sized. Could be a mink. Not sure. Saw a mink here in Oakville.....or what I'm calling a mink. It was definitely smaller than what I see up north. Or could've been a younger one.
  9. You'll often see martens during the day along the the lake shore. Like Wayne said, they're not very big. Neat to see though. Not sure how rare wolverines are, but there's at least one of them south east of North Bay.
  10. That's amazing about the cows. Had no idea.
  11. Definitely not the prettiest of fishes!
  12. Very cool.
  13. I think it's great.
  14. ( and by "green innovators", i mean companies that are developing and manufacturing alternative energy, better batteries, etc etc)
  15. I'm all for a local pollution tax (if you're dumping crap in our local waters, you should pay a bunch of tax to the region) but carbon tax should be a global thing, otherwise it puts Ontario manufacturers at yet another disadvantage against international counterparts. If you want to save the world, then it would be better to give massive tax breaks to green innovators that set up and employ people here. You'd be helping people get good jobs, and saving the planet at the same time.
  16. Very nice. Congrats.
  17. Every state or province I've fished in has had a license you had to pay for. The gov gouges us on a lot of fronts, but I don't think this is one of them.
  18. I'd pay double the license fee if it meant leaving the seniors alone.
  19. Some braids - like powerpro - absorb a lot more water than others, and it's a pain in the ass. I also don't like all the green dye coming off and spreading everywhere.
  20. Cortland Master Braid. So much better than Power Pro. Doesn't absorb water the same way. The line structure/shape doesn't degrade with use. Doesn't bleed green all over the place.
  21. Thanks for this. I hadn't thought of running antifreeze through the pump.
  22. If he's switching over his all seasons for winters.....isn't he going to have 4 tires in the back to tip off the border guys? :-) I ordered a set of tires through tirerack to be couriered to my door. Even with import fees they were hundreds less than I would have paid here for the same tires.
  23. I have Blizzaks on a Highlander and they're great.. MIchelin XIce on wifester's car, and they seem good as well but I don't drive it as much. Lots of options though. You might check out the ratings on Tirerack.com whether you buy from them or not.
