  1. Thanks. I have a weagle that almost sinks with a fluoro leader. It moves a lot of water once it gets going, but that might be bettter.
  2. Does mono float? (at least relative to flouro)
  3. Udder butter.
  4. Try udder butter or bag balm. Not kidding.
  5. I liked my local Target. MUCH prefer it to Walmart.
  6. Have seen them in Oakville twice.
  7. Hondas are supposed to be great. Many of my friends have one. I have driven a Sienna a few times and to me it's just as nice. In-laws have a Chrysler and it's pretty sweet as well. Some features are better than the japanese versions.

    2 Owl Day

Bill -- did you see 4 snows?
  11. I researched this to death before getting mine (an etec 115). My impression was that BRP had a big issue with the larger motors (150 and above) in their first few years. They apparently rectified it on new releases. I went with etec for a bunch of reasons, but one of them main ones was nearby access to a dealer. If a Suzuki dealer was nearby I would have gone with that. Same with Yamaha.
  12. I looked at Suzukis as well and they're supposed to be a really nice motor as well. Would have bought one if the dealer was closer.
  13. Ha! That's a great one.
  14. That's fine, but I'd rather the stupid driver beside me on the hwy have snow tires. Not saying it should be mandatory, but its still you who is missing the point.
  15. Another thumbs up for etec. It's only been one season, but I'm liking it so far.
  16. Many of them already do. Mine does.
  17. If there was no genuine benefit, then insurance companies wouldn't give a substantial discount. They're pretty good at doing math and assessing risk. Their cost savings is also proportional to the amount of driving you do, experience of the driver, etc. Someone who drives 200km a day on the hwy is going to realize more savings than the guy who drives 5 kms a day and not on the hwy (and i don't care if that guy doesn't have winters).
  18. An anecdotal response based on one afternoon's experience. I don't know if mandating is the right thing to do - probably not - but anyone who thinks they aren't significantly better hasn't used them. One of my friends who believes winter tires is for sheeple is also a huge Nascar fan who goes on and on (and on) about matching different tires to different tracks and different conditions....I love the irony.
  19. I bet your insurance company already does this.
  20. Mandatory on the hwy, otherwise not.
  21. Any recommendations on independents for beef, chicken, or pork within an hour's drive of Oakville? Say as far west as KW or as far north as Grand Valley....
  22. I researched the 70DV as well, and it's supposed to be a great unit.
  23. The tangle is a terrible mess. I just cut the hooks every time (except for spinnerbaits).
  24. I have one and keep it open when fishing by myself, and have it stowed otherwise. It does save a lot of space. Also easier for travel and storage in general. Haven't seen any issues with fins. It's a finer mesh for sure, but very soft with smaller holes, and super deep (almost comedically so). I don't get how it would cut fins, to be honest. It does tangle with hooks a lot more than the larger/thicker mesh though.
