Thanks everyone! Still holding in 3rd, but only by about 300 votes. Things can change in a hurry so I've seen! Let's just hope we stay in the top 10 and the judges like what they see. http://www.wfn.tv/adopt/view.php?entry=360 -

No Jocko, You read it right. He had over 12,000 votes! -
Rich, I've been reading all the good advice you have been getting. I know it does not make it any easier to decide! I can't say the opportunity was ever offered to me before personally, but I know a few people who have worked in Bahamas and St. Lucia. They all felt the same about it. Nice to visit, but it gets old real quick! They were all only there for 3 months at a time as well, not three years! 3 years is a huge commitment. Good luck, but think it over real well before deciding. JF has some solid advice for you.

Thanks Guys! You have all been great! I know we all have enough to do these days without trying to keep up on voting, but your efforts to do so are surely appreciated. I could have spread the word a little better, and I know my kids and Wife have done a lot to get this out, but I really only asked for support from the folks on this board. You all are like family anyways! LOL Even as it is, I hate to keep pestering with posts on here, but one last day!. If I was fortunate enough to win, of course there would be a full report on here of the trip!! Thanks again!!! -
Man, that is one quality looking rod and real combo you got going on there! LOL Nice catch too!

Thanks again everyone! Some real nice comments on my contest page from some people I have a lot of respect for around here! I really appreciate that as well. Jocko, I feel the same way about the way some people are going after votes, but hey, to each his/her own! My girls have done a wonderful thing in trying to get me in to this contest. ONE MORE DAY!!!! We have to keep it going strong until midnight tomorrow! http://www.wfn.tv/adopt/view.php?entry=360 -

Folks, I have had lot's and lot's of votes and support from some great people here, but it is down to the last couple of days and I need everyone to vote each day. There are only a small number of votes keeping me in the top 10, and I have to stay there till the contest closes for a chance! Thanks in advance everyone! http://www.wfn.tv/adopt/view.php?entry=360 Brian (Rattletrap2)

Thanks for the link Cudz! Let us know how you make out with fees, but like others have said, you are best with USPS over the couriers. I signed up for his newsletter. Looks like a decent site and vendor!

You folks are fantastic! Thanks a lot. Only a few more days!

That's interesting! I worked on the Twin Otter line in Downsview from 1977 to 1979. It was a pretty interesting time in my life. Are there any other ex- DeHavilland people out there?
-
Very cool Cliff! I'm quite happy to see it through your eyes though! That is close enough for me. Throughout all those great shots, the one that attracted my attention most was wondering who the lucky stiff is that gets to service the A/C condensing units hanging on the side of the bullet ridden wall???!!! LOL Thanks for sharing the trip with us! Good to have you back!

Brian, I think there might be the lyrics to a good song in there somewhere? Long as I remember The rain been comin' down. Clouds of myst'ry pourin' Confusion on the ground. Good men through the ages, Tryin' to find the sun; And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain. I went down Virginia, Seekin' shelter from the storm. Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow. Five year plans and new deals, Wrapped in golden chains. And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain. Heard the singers playin', How we cheered for more. The crowd had rushed together, Tryin' to keep warm. Still the rain kept pourin', Fallin' on my ears. And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain. Good ole' classic CCR!

Drove 15 minutes, Fished 15 minutes, Drove back home!

Beautiful fish there Splashhopper! Better yet, with a layer of scum like that, it's hard to tell what lays beneath those weeds! -
Those are impressive numbers for that little lake! For the Bass to be over 4 lbs. and only 19" long, it must have been a football! Usually they would not get to that weight until they were around 22 to 23". Every inch means a big difference with Bass in most cases. Pretty tight numbers for the 1st through 3rd. place Bass though.

ramgirl, As Terry and Misfish have already stated, I would suggest that you don't try to do too much too fast. The Tyler event evolved over several years from a humble beginning to what it is now. I would think you want this to go off smoothly, and assuming it does, make it an annual event getting bigger and bigger each year. I would think a location is going to be the most difficult thing. The one we have for Tyler is held on the ice, which allows for lot's of room and since the event is based out of a lakeside park, there is ample parking on shore. My experience has been that finding a good summer shore spot is difficult (but most likely not impossible!). If you use a park, then the authorities would have to be on board with regards to liabilities and such. I know it is a sad state of affairs when we have to worry about being sued over something like this, but it is however a reality. Like Terry said, you will need portable toilets unless there are already this type of facility at the location. Many private companies rent them for about $120.00 per day including drop-off and pick-up. Seeing as it is for charity, you might be able to get a donation on this from the company. Minimal expense for them. We will try to come up with more specific info as things progress and you can always ask for specific info as questions come to mind. I really would suggest keeping it simple to start with, and try to get media coverage for the sake of the sponsors. Good Luck!

Thanks Mike!

Thanks Dan, Terry, and jr7roo! I have no idea where this coward is coming from, but I doubt he is from ONTARIO, and he certainly does not know me! Having a pond in your backyard does not mean you are financially well off. It means you are 50 years old and have been working (and will continue working for many years to come!)your butt off for 33 years to try and have a place that we can enjoy. The banks do have lots of money...all you have to do is ask for some! As for transferring fish... they were here when we moved here with the exception of a few Goldfish and some Largemouth fry that I purchased from a fish farm. Otherwise, the fish are reproducing and doing well. "Charlie" does not seem to mind the Alberta girls using TV, radio, message boards, newspapers and other methods, so my guess is he must be from there?

I have a 1987 90 H.P. Merc which is basically the same engine. The 70,80, and 90 all use the same base, with just some minor modifications. When I first got it back in 2001, it did the same thing, but only on occasion. some times it picked right up and took off, other times it bogged.. In the end, it turned out to be the ignition module. This is a roughly 3" by 6" metal block filled with black epoxy, mounted to the engine in the vertical position, and has all the wires going out to the coils and such. It is very simple to replace yourself (which I did), but unfortunately, it costs about $470.00 from a Merc dealer. Thankfully, mine has worked great since. Hard to tell if this is your problem, but I believe a Merc Mechanic can diagnose this. good luck!
