  1. Ohhh! That is a big fish. Very clean too. I think it weighs about, big.
  2. They probably didn't understand what you said and maybe they were new to the area and thought you are a seasoned angler and know the water. They probably cam closer to you because they thought maybe you have this knowledge and that you had to be on an exact location to catch fish. Who knows. Generally, most fishermen are friendly to me when I talk to them regardless of their ethnicity.
  3. Gross! I mean that in the best possible way. I would carry the canoe, the supplies, and Mike to catch fish like that. I wouldn't carry you Bill. That would be taking it a step too far.
  4. Aww! This is just sick! I love your pics. When my camera grows up I want it to take pics like yours. I just ate dinner but I know I would have room for all those meals right now. As far as the fishing goes, you know you have it good when you are pulling your lures away from 30" fish so they don't mess them up. Sweet! You are the Jackfish master! Favourite line: Grant catches a dink mid 30 incher. lol. Love it.
  5. I would be very careful of this invite. Alex wants to show you his brown hole. Sorry Alex. Couldn't let that one go by without a comment.
  6. Stikezone Slammer is a drop shot bait that looks more like a goby or minnow that anything else. They are great lures and made here in Ontario. Get a pack and learn to drop shot. You will not be dissapointed. I like smoke colours best but they are all good.
  7. that smallie that the mother is holding is really fat. Getting their feed bags on early it looks. man I need to get out.
  8. Use slammers, gulp leeches, or gulp minnows, 4" senkos etc. I usually nose hook for most action.
  9. i usually do it without moving or moving very slowly. You need to make contact with the bottom but not really have a tight line so you can make the lure move with subtle line shakes. If I am drifting I would go for more of a carolina style rig or a split shot rig. That is just my opinion though. If I was drifting faster and drop shotting I would make sure I had enough weight to stay on bottom and probably leave a longer gap between hook and weight as the angle of the line to the bottom will be smaller.
  10. man I need to get out. I haven't been for 2 weeks. I have only fished Simcoe and Couch 3 times this year with 2 of those being evenings and the other being an unsuccessful hot day. Good job on the bog
  11. I play sports for a couple hours a day with 14-19 year olds. Been doing that for 15 years now.
  12. That is a helthy looking fish. Nice gloves too.
  13. sick! As usual. Would not expect anything less from you. Good job!
  14. I think Brian Berriault at Backwater Tackle in Midland does work on them.
  15. Really? I have never caught smallies on this set up in those areas. Largies yes, smaliies no. I always have a carankbait on one rod and a senko on the other. Followed closely by a drop shotted slammer, a tube, a jerkbait a spinnerbait, and finally a grub. All work depending on the lake.
  16. go with chrome and greens. Spoons. Last time I was out we did ok at 90' over 116 but in the past I would go 90' in 90' of water. Some people use 20' leads off ball but I too use more than 50' leads. 7th line to the 5th works as well. As does BBP.
  17. nice hogs. How did the Friday night tourney go?
  18. That is strange. I once caught a knot eel. It is an eel and when it gets into the boat it ties itself into a knot. True story. Caught it ogg noosa in Australia. I also caught a lobster or a big crayfish in a river .
  19. Only one side is reserve. Yes you can fish it.
  20. Me either. Don't eat bass. If i want to eat fish I go out on Simcoe for a half hour and catch perch.
  21. Yep! those don't work either. Seeing as Alex and I live in the same area, just send them to me and I will make sure he gets them..
  22. often fish lake gibson and the river. River has good pike and largemouth. Lake has crappie, walleye, pike, smallies and largies. come out of river into a small lake keep going through another small riverish turn left and fish the north east side of lake.
  23. People, you need to wake up. CC big O crankbaits do not work at all. THey are worthless pieces of junk. Now all you guys who have them can send them to me. PM me for my address. I will dispose of them for you, no charge.
  24. drive to mindemoya. It is not far and a good walleye lake. It can get rough like Couchiching though so be careful
