Hey everyone, I am going to let you in on a little secret. CTC (at least in Barrie) does something called one day before and one day after. This means you can go into the store the day before the sale starts and get the product at the sale price and also if the sale ends you can go in one day late and still get the sale price. I always seem to get the product on sale before it sells out. Let's keep this between us. lol

My magic swimmer is pitching a shutout and I have given it a good go every year for the past 3. Some of my lucky crafts do catch fish. I have a nice $19 square bill crank that does well but my $4.49 big O is better. My pointers have caught fish but my $8 husky jerk or x-rap does better.

I just bought 2 in the silver shad colour. I am a sucker for new expensive baits and I never buy 1 at a time. Always at least 2 just in case. Still trying to catch my first fish on any one of my 5 sebile lures I also have about 6 lucky crafts that have caught a grand total of 0 fish. Wonder what my shipping charge on 2 lures is going to be. I hope not too much. I am thinking this might be a new good night fishing lure.

very cool. I had almost those exact same seats last week when the Leafs beat the Sabres. I was section 115 row 14. I too ate pretty much the whole menu at real sports bar. I however did not get to meet the players or go into the dressing room. A bit jealous over here. Congrats.

True Mark Jones is such a well rounded and strong LH. Last night I was trying to think of anyone who might be close and couldn't. He has made everyone he has faught look terrible. Ironically the fight he dominated the most was his fight with Hamill. He made Matt look silly and ended up getting DQd (pretty much after Hamill couldn't even get up). 23, big, and strong, wonder how much longer he stays at LH? Give him a couple years and see if he moves to HW

That is not your fault. I thought the shoreline would stay too but yesterday and last night was too warm. No biggie, now if this ice can melt really really fast we might be able to get some pike fishing from the boat before the end of the month rolls around. well not likely but it would be nice.

Brian I can't help drill holes friday. I have no probs deilling holes for people on Saturday though. I have a manual auger but it takes me about 30 seconds to drill a hole.

Went to Dick's sporting goods at Galleria today and I spent more there than at the BPS sale I went to on Tuesday. Great deal on Power pro at 10.98 per 150 yards. Better deal on Fireline ($8) and other trilene products but you need to be a us resident as it is a mail in rebate. Fireline is still 12.99 without rebate. All Gamkatsu hooks are 25% off. All strike king lures 25% off. 2 packs of 5" senkos are $11 ($5.50 per pack of 10 is as good as I have ever seen). All rapalas are 20% off and there was a special on all crankin raps at 2 for $9.00 and I bought a couple of the new square bill crankin raps. THere are pretty good deals on rods and reels as well.

great fish. like the big rod too, but that wouldn't work too well in my 2 man portable shelter. THose are real clean looking fish!

Not sure. Everytime I look at one of your reports I want to take up float fishing so bad. I live right beside simcoe and I have a bit of trouble getting time off until noon to fish at times with 3 young kids. I will definately take it up when my kids don't want to spend time with me anymore. I figure that will come in the next 7 years or so. I will be like 46 or 47 by then which sounds a bit old to take something up but I will give it a go for sure. I used to river fish every weekend when I was a teenager. Used to go to Beaver river and Saugeen back inthe day. I even had an 11ft rod but I had a spinning reel. One day, one day!!

You should have taken it off for sure. From what I have read and the people I talked to today, nobody went home empty handed.

i too was in oro but only got out from 11:15 until 1:15. got 3 lakers. Nice day and as you say it was good fishing. Congrats on a fishfilled day

Got another today on a swammer too Mark. Is that the name you have given them Mark or does it have another. You just called them swimbaits to me, so I am not sure what their real name is. You need to get these out soon. I want to try them for summer bass too! The soft rubber sure makes their tails swim better than my hollow bellied baits. I am sure this bait is going to be another winner.

On a side note, both fish appeared to be natural as I couldn't find any clipped fins. Nice!

My wife gave me a pass for 2 hours this morning. I must say that I probably didn't deserve to go but she is very understanding and cool. Anyway, Got out at 11:15 and had a fish on within 15 minutes. Smaller laker on a Strke Zone swammer. Then only chasers for the next 45 mins. The fish were very active but not commiting to the bite. Change of lures and change of techniques resulted in 2 nice lakers with 15 mins of each other. Both hit white tubes as I was burning them from the bottom. The first laker came up from 70' when my lure was at about 30'. Amazing how good their eyesight is. It probably took it about 2 seconds to 40' up. Crushed my lure 20' under the hole. Second bigger laker did the same but hit earlier, around the 50' mark. Had a couple nice runs and goth tangled in my other line. No probs just opened the bail on other rod and played it out. All the fish were released. Fun march out on the ice!

Was at the 6th yesterday and it never heated up until about 11 am. Stay on it. I was in 85' when I finally got some action.
