Today was another day I had the pleasure to spend with Skud in the bush looking for brown furry fellas and gals. On the road by 5am,parked by 5:30.walking in at 5:58. How do I know this,because I fixed the clock on the trail cam. Can you see we walked in on someone? Never even noticed the flash. So with the wind and the rain and bit of snow that fell,we headed into the bush.By 6:10 ,Skud is set and off I go to the climber for an couple of hours,then head to the far stand. All that was seen by me was, two over wieght racoons dragging thier butts to bed and a few squirrels. Like said,the weather was abit on the crappy side.There were those times, that the wind would stop and that quiet in the bush would stay for a few minutes.Those are the times when you think something is going to come out. Anyhoo,once 12 pm came,I head to hook up with Skud to hear if he had anything happening.Same report as I. Someone did come into the buch sometime this week.My feeder was cut off the tree and my rope to pull up your bow was cut. Why this senceless move? One never knows.I figured they did a push to move the deer deeper onto the ajoining property for next weeks hunt, and came accross my stand and thought they would be jerk offs.Ohwell,like water on a ducks back. So after hooking up,it was time for a quick bite, then work was to be done before the afternoon hunt.Yep move the field stand and make the ground blind. We started the field stand first.Like I said before,I wanted to move it closer to the cornfield, and alittle deeper into the bush. Done Now off to construct the ground blind. The beaver gets to work. In this vid,you can understand why I stayed my distance.WILD MAN WITH A BLADE. The view from inside the ground blind. Good job Skud. So after all the work was done,it was time to sit til dark.Nothing again. Ohwell,some great fresh air,9 hrs in the stands and the outdoors, and great company. Looks like Doug and I will be teaming up next year.From start til finish.Looking forward to that. Not the report I wanted to post,but hey,theres always next weekend. Yea,were going to sit in the stands til noon. Then finish setting up the ladder stand in the field,and also make a ground blind where the doe has been coming out the last couple nights. Good luck to all this weekend and next week.

I,ll be on it Saturday.Skud and I, are doing an all dayer.Dark to dark.

Im betting this year,you will see more rabbits. Just have to know where and the cycle of them.

Leave work to move the stand, like I said in my last post.It gets dark so much faster now. Park the truck along the corn field,get dressed,lock and load the crossbow and off I head.As I walk the corn field edge, leading to the stand,I see that massive 10 point,AGAIN. I spook him and he crash,s through the bush.I stay still for a couple of minutes and give a couple of grunts.Hopefully to give him peace of mind.After that, I head to the stand.At this point,Im thinking,maybe sit for a bit before I make the move to the new local,and see if he come back.So I sit for 30 minutes.Nothing,so ,I set up for the new local for the stand.Just 15 ft or so in from the edge of the corn field.With darkness coming,I decide to sit in the stand,didnt move it yet.Do that Saturday.Get set and dont I look way yonder, and see that doe come out again.Yep, 130 yrds away again.I decide not to do anything.No bleets or grunts. Let her do her natural thing .She had no intent coming my way tonight.Wind was blowing,so I guess her best bet was to head back from where she came. Moved the trail cam like I mention, on that beat,n down area by the corner of the corn field Tuesday. Few of pics, Look at me mom.I made OFC. Another weekend to come,(it,s going to be a go for broke)before the second shotgun hunt. Thanks for reading.
