misfish

So I have been using my first knife for deboning chicken,trimming up pork loins and such. What a great knife for doing this. I have yet to use it on fish,as I haven't caught any since I purchased it. LOL Took a wander in the same store I found my first and they had some 6" left, so grabbed another. At the back tool wall, they had the larger 9" one. Same price,$4. Had to get it, as I know it,s going to make a great roast and turkey carver. If you like a sharp quality knife, I would advise grabbing these. Totally impressed. The frog supply was pretty much history.

Is it just me, or is the sun coming up earlier every year? On the water at 4:30 and it was starting already

Both my flipping/pitching reels have 60lb. There is no floro or mono lead. (Flipping/pitching, is a quick reaction bite). The reason is when I set the hook, I dont want it digging/burning, into the spool. I wont say you are good for your purpose,as I do not cast that heavy of a line. Most I go for casting is 20-30 lb. I would , if you are worried, spool it on a musky reel. JMO.

Why I wear a hoodie, even in the warmest of days, fishing a river or creek. Always walking through high grass and what not. Take it off when Im done, throw in the box of the truck. When I get home, it goes straight into the washer. Wife always says what a waste of water. I guess I could find a rock on the rivers edge,wash and bash the hoodie to do the job. Your thoughts on this? I seen many signs today, alerting of this heading north.

This year for me, is everything on a fly that I can in Ontario waters. The fly rod will be on the toon every trip this year. Perch and smolt bows have been completed. I have gotten a few small mouth, but I want bigger. Same as the bows. I think a pickeral is posible, since I have gotten them on top water baits.

Down the road form Fairbank pool. Yes. The outdoors store was at Dufferin and castlefield area. There was a CTC there as well. Do you know if Commisos is still alive and well? That area had many big companys. Parker brothers coffee. Freshie, Hilroys. There was also a paint company. CIL ? They had rows upon rows of panels out side covered in different paint colours. Beng older, Im guessing it was a longevity test of paint. Staying on topic, we would also throw live moths in a pail of water so they couldnt fly away. You talk about a great bass bait . Small sinker, hook a big o moth on a hook and drop it . WHAM. Oh and Free.

And salmon. Under a float. I never believed it til I saw it. It,s my go to now.LOL Chicken livers work great for cats. Land and water ones. Edit to add,,,,,,,,,, If you want to buy cheap shrimp, hit the asian store where BPS is. It,s my go to store. They also have great steam dumplings. $2 each. YUM YUM.

10 in 74. Man you brought back an old time memory. Towers on Eglington near Keele. When they opened a KFC near by, it was golden. $2 for a large box of fries. $5 for a bucket chicken. Me and my brothers would eat half the fries walking home. Pop would give us an extra $2 so he would have some when we got home. LMAO. Man thats a memory. Staying on topic. We picked worms back then for bait. FREE.

I dont disagree, but, how many fish did you catch on them? I,ll bet 70% to the 100% you started with. These baits are, consumable. I can go through a bag of tubes in a month. Hell, I have used the same tube for probly 6-8 fish. Fish that tube til there is a single tentacle left. LOL

If I went through all my stuff, I,ll bet I wont find one that I have spent over $20. I buy bags of tubes,swim baits for $5-$7. Add another $4-$6 for jig heads to go with them. Terry and I split on a lot of spinner baits. All top end baits. There were 40 of them. Cost, well we,ll keep that to ourselves. We got a super deal. 1/3 the price new. Just like the full lot of jig/tube hardware we got. Buying in bulk pays off. Body baits? I do have some jerks that get close to the $20. Did I pay full price? Not a chance. I search a lot of classifieds and find them at 1/2 price or less. The tackle swaps are a huge $ savings. I got no problem dropping a few bucks on baits that look cheap, but work great. Up grade the hooks is all I do. When you can get a couple of guys to buy a lot of stuff, you save big time. Our local tackle guy find lots of stuff. He will pass on the saving to his customers. Example. 5 -1/2 & 1/2 hammered spoons last year, for $20. That,s 1/3 price, if I had bought them all at reg. price. Deals are out there. Search for them.

Lots of bush wacking, lots of beautiful river and your scenery coverage was sweet. That was one great video. Enjoyed very much.

Read on another board, it was a great time for all. One that has participated, I can say the smiles on the kids, is heart felt. David and the rest have done a great job with this event for many years now. But there seems to be money grabbers at work for the future of this giving event. This is truly a great event but for next year Sibald Park wants to charge over $3000.00 for the use of the park. It would seem to me that there are some causes worthy of supporting even by our Provincial Parks. This was my reply Now for my rant on this cost to hold them at these parks. WAKE THE HELL UP. Ya I understand we do it for them, we got to do it for the rest. SO WHAT. SUPPORT THE CAUSE. No one is pocketing this cash. It goes back into the communities. Unlike the charge you want to charge to hold this event. In your pockets. Money grabbing ignorance.

Thanks bud. I have seen them, just didn't know If I would use one. It,s on my shopping list this weekend. I do love roasted carrots too. Maybe a maple glaze would be fitting. It all will balance out for my diet.

Hey Joe. Napoleon is open on the weekends. You can buy direct from the factory store. I will say this though. They are not like they were years back. Before it was 100% made in Canada. They now bring parts in from China. So Made in Canada, should read, assembled in Canada.
