I dont mind the cold temps out there. What I have found this year though is, I,ll be going thermo next year, I have had enough of the frost in the hut even with the heater on full. Getting to old for that crap.
Enjoyed the vid Simon and yes, I like the nipples like that as well. LOL
Right on Bill.
AK, sorry you got skunked, but you were on one of the best grounds in the bay. When they are on, you would of had a great day. I fished all weekend .The warm spell we had before, the fish were on the feed. Then the cold snap came again. Caught fish, but it was a tough one. Simcoe is a beast. It can be tamed though. Just need to put time in. Dont forget. You were in a permy. You got what you got without being able to move around. Well you could of. Nothing stopping you from going for a walk with a auger or a spud and search the area you were on. Callum is a great young fella. I hope you learned a bit from him.
It was a very loud morning of cracking and booming from start to finish. I thought for sure, fishing shallow was the wrong move. That was til it was go home time and this one said, take me, Im yours.
My 5 ah was outside this morning from 6am til 11 am -19. I only drilled 4 holes at my one spot. For the hell of it, I checked the battery. Still full 4 bars. New battery's have come alonggggggg way.
The lake harden up just nice. Easy walking. Not so easy fishing though. The ice was cracking and booming so loud. Would mark fish at times and then a BIG KABOOM. They gone. I was to at noon.
I was out after work Wayne last night. It was not that bad out there. This north wind is going to firm it up real nice. If it hasn't already. Walk is not far. Fish are shallow. And my new korkers are so nice for walking on that stuff.
They have posted no parking at one well known area, but I seen no tickets on any of the cars or trucks. All other areas I know really dont have road access here. Parking lots that charge $15 for a day or $3 an hour.
I cant speak for other drills, but I did notice that Paul (Tybo ) was running a large Dewalt last weekend. 20volt if Im not mistaken. When I get my 6" finbor 3, I,ll be using that. Just drill 2 holes side by side, if Im going after lakers, which I hardly do. Im a whitie guy..
That model does not have the kick out feature. You will not be happy with it. A 6 will be no problem. I started with the 1st gen. Moved up to the gen 2. Much better for the 8".
