Ya my pop has the propane one. First attemped he had a passer by stop and tell him his house was on fire, there was so much smoke coming from it.LOL TOOOOOOO HOT. I am happy with the little chief,my first,never will forget it and will keep it, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, If I want to smoke 12 months of the year, I need to find me a 12 month of the year smoker. With that said, I thought I would take advantage of this mild weather and do a smoke. First to get some fish. Did. Then I wanted to try brisket. So I seen on sale and bought and gave it a go. Ya I cheated, got one already cured. Safer for me to buy then try right curing self for now. I am very nervous about nitrites. Do not want to get it wrong ANYHOO Did the beast today. 2 hours of smoke and the rest in the oven to finish. Very damp cold today. Not as warm as they called for. Nice light dinner tonight was on my mind. YUMMY. Smoke was perfect. While the beast was yonder way, steel head was bathing, and is now in the fridge getting sticky and ready for Sunday afternoon smoke. Busy day, I must say. Now to look at the many smokers out there that will serve my purpose. I am thinking I will stay electric. Have heard propane is very hard to control, and needs to be watched more. Buddies on the hands free talking away and all of a sudden, the talk gets heated, hands free rage starts,distracted, wham,into the back of a car, or goes through a red light. Not paying attention to his surroundings. Distraction.

If you want loons and mallards and divers, there are tons here right now. I didn't have the camera. It was cool to see the different clans.The loners would work their way into them and do the rituals, then become a member. Even watched a loon fly low right through the hoard of fowl. Never hit one. I was amazed. Owls are the coolest.

I need to find those jigging hooks. The ones with the eye turned up 90 deg. Those would work better, but used what I had. As for the tail/ tentacles , I was going to use micro tubes, but I found a bag of those spinner bait tails for 3 bucks. Right color and cheap. LOL

My brain never seems to take a rest. I am always thinking on how to do. Sometimes, I wake up from a dead sleep and an idea comes to me. This drives me nuts, cuz I just cant let it go. I sat today and had a picture in my head. What I needed to do this fly tie goby.Sure the first offs are not as planned or for seen, but once I have something stuck in my head,I have to at least try. I fish shallow waters for white fish,so big weight is not really important to me. Also thinking that a light weight fly like this,they will pick it up and not feel much weight in their mouth. Then they feel the hook set. My first attempts. Some shanks are wrapped with lead, then I found some old weights I had . They worked perfect. Now for the white fish season to open to give them a try.
