With the smoke this unit puts out,I had to run an extension cord out to the pasture allowing the n/w wind to flow the smoke away. LOL I do not want to piss off the neighbors. I did have one come out and ask for a sample when it was done.
I couldn't get the smoker past 155 deg. Tucked away out of the wind. I could of had it in the sun like the old one,but I want to see what it could do.
These chunks were thicker then I would usually do, but I wanted to give the new smoker a work out. A light brush of Canadian maple and 6.5 hours later, it,s done.
I sampled a piece and it was good,but I like it cold the next day. Really give the true taste IMO.
Yup. That is what I am finding as well. WAY more smoke. And yup, it gets hot fast. Got some trout smoking right now.
Going to have to try the chops and ribs. Do you finish on the grill ?
Thats why I wear them baggy shorts Lew. They work as a towel after landing them greasers. Sometimes I have to take them off for a wash out there, but hey, no ones watching. ?
Back 20 years ago or so,I got this fold boat off my uncle. It looked like a suit case. You flipped it open and secured it with 2 bolts on the side. It had two molded seats in it. It was fiberglass, 8 ft long and 4 ft wide.
Edit to correct. Probly more like 30 years+ ago. Age creeps up on the memory.

There was a bass tourny on. . They were out sat and sun. I have my net way up in the air. Hope they see it. ? I found it funny that all the boats went to the east side. Guess there are no bass on the west side. LOL
If you were close, I would take one of the covers,make it as flat as possible,trace on to a piece of cardboard,plasma cut and bend to shape. Like the ones I have now. ?

Man just after posting this,I had to unplug and pull the pan. Those chips I got with it stank like a burning house and smoked like crazy. Is this how yours smokes C ? And to add,it gets hot fast.
This was with in 10 minutes.
I have always used the chips dry. Maybe I need to go 1/2 wet, 1/2 dry ?
I just filled the pan and doing the first smoke before anything goes in it. WOW,that burner got hot fast. I opened the chip bags that came with it. More like saw dust. I will keep with what I have been using. Nice small chips. I get it at Walmart. Been using it for the past 2 years. Works well for my needs. I have used the large chips from Cabelas. They smoke way to much for where I live but do like it. I don't want to piss off the condo neighbors. ?
There is a hole on top of this one. My top loader doesn't have one. Do I want to restrict it a bit to keep more smoke in ? I am thinking it,s designed like this for a reason. Hole for temp gauge. Thanks C
I want to see what temps I get with the new unit. I really would like to do meats other then fish.
