Thanks Norm. J/K Bud Myself and Terry were talking about this today while we seen this. I had mentioned , how can the carp be dead and not the bass. I hAve no idea why this happen,but talking to the guy I payed for the launch,he seems to believe it was done on purpose. To kill the fish,means they cannot lay eggs. Just what he said. Still a nasty sight

When we were in the 19 footer, I had a chance. He couldnt cover everything,but when yer in a 16 footer,well,I get the endtrails sorta speak. Terry left me the back spots. I like the ones deep in there,he takes the front spots.(That didnt sound right I know ) No worries,smallies will be his down fall.HAHAHAHA Im still smile,n about gett,n out. I just need to get my brake line that busted on the way home fixed in the morn. Glad it happen close to home,not on the hwy.

Great fish congrats. I wouldnt be to worried about the crop,I would do the same.

Not touching a rod since last November,it was time to get out and get back into the swing of things. So after yesturday and seeing all the boats and fish,I was ready to hit the waters again. I met up with my bud Terry at the river and it was a great calm morning. During our trip down the river,there was a stinch in the air. Hundreds of dead carp floating all along the banks. It was,a very sadding sight. Im not a carp fisher,but I can just amagine what this kind of site would mean to one.At first we thought it would be a waste of time fishing for them buckets with this kill happening,but we gave it a go anyways. Tought conditions to say the lease. Trying to pitch in good spots and there would be a dead carcuss in the same area. Decided to try a run further down the river,maybe the dead carp would be less. Sure enough we found a few good stretches where the carp die off was limited and we,well Terry started to get into them. The forcasted rain that was to start around 9 am did not really appear,but we did get a bit of a drizzel,then Terry got another. I believe the score at the end of the day was Terry 8,myself 3.He put the smack down on them. I told Terry I was fishing for quality,you know,those 5 good bites. Cant be playing with thos small fish. LOL Baits used today were craw tubes on jigs and beaver tails and bucket slammers. Terry has the rest of the phots as I knew my cam was crap,so we used his most of the time.Plus his makes my fish look bigger. HAHAHAHA Thanks pal for the time today. Garry was the first OFC,ER I met personally and fished with.Got to be 8 years ago. He,s a real stand up guy and I am looking forward to heading up to take a spin in his new toy. And yes,he is a mean chef,thats forsure. Glad you enjoyed your time John.

Just back from helpping out David Chong with his event up on Cooch. Let me tell ya,it,s alot of work to pull this off,and to the many other volunteers that showed up and all the boaters,great job. The skys opened up early this morning,and with lighting happening,the boats held up in the lot. Then the rains stopped and the boats were in,the kids showed up and what a great day and what a great feeling it gives one to see so many smiles on kids that got to head out and fish for a half day in a bass boat. There was a great mix bag of fish brought in. Rock bass,perch,buckets and smallies and 2 nice pike. Sorry I did not get any pics of the fish as I was kept pretty busy setting up and making sure fish bags got to the boats and to the live release boat. I did take some time to take some photos . There were a few OFC,er there,Al Russel,Mark Kulik,David and myself. Looking forward to helpping out again next year. Many put out alot as far as gifts for the kids. This pic is bags that have a rod reel and tackle and a small pop up dome tent. Everyone of the 65 kids got one of these bags,along with a prize off the prize table. Like I said,it all about the kids. Some assorted pics. Dereck Strubb had three on his boat and they all caught very nice fish. I beleieve the biggests was 5.11. Mark Kulik. Great seeing you again Mark. The MC and the one that got this going. Great job David. Also to Andy from CSFL for the stage. There were bags for the volunteers and boaters, and I got a nice surprize. Thanks Mark. More slammers. YES,and the colour I like best. I got my flipp,n stuff ready for Sunday AM. IM GOING FISH,N.
