  1. I had a chance to play with the curado 70 MGL. Oh boy is that a nice reel. I just don’t like the small spool. Would be great as a dedicated flipping reel for sure
  2. LA county California had the earliest and most strict lockdown measures in the entire country. Their deaths per capita were the same as New York. The correlation between safety measures and outcomes is not there. hiding behind masks and lockdowns is not the answer. Vaccinations may be a short term solution but improving our resilience would most likely be the best path forward. I am glad that this thread is not locked yet because we are having some really good debate on this and I am happy to hear the opinions from everyone in here. I hope we can all get through this
  3. How come it’s okay for people in our country to fill themselves with fast food, cigarettes and alcohol and the become overweight with cardio vascular disease or cancer? But they deserve a bed in ICU? At the beginning of this pandemic we should have focussed on creating a healthy lifestyle for ourselves. Instead we close the gyms, lock ourselves up and drive ourselves stir crazy. look at the stats in the US. Lockdowns don’t work.
  4. I’m pretty sure these ones listed on eBay are legit. Could be wrong tho. I have to tell these reels are pretty slick. I have always been a fan of the Curado reels since the old green ones and now 20 years later that’s all I have. I hope the curado Dc is as good as the other generations with with its durability. Considering I have 4 of them now lol. The SLX dc is almost as nice , casts a country mile and has a nice light frame and compact size. You may want to consider that one to save a bit of cash
  5. $ 150 to have the entire Ganny to yourself on opener is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
  6. I’m in a really bad place right now. Not mentally........just Ontario last I checked there was 522 people in ICU in all of Ontario. Just sayin
  7. I would suggest a medium heavy 7 ft rod in the 125- 150 range for your first rod. It may end up being a rod you will have for many years to come. I have some really high end rods but some of my favourites are my lowest priced rods that I have had for over 20 years. I personally like Shimano rods as the warranties have never let me down.just remember like anything, you get what you pay for
  8. Nice work. About 22 years ago I started tying this fly because there was an old guy on the river that hammer steelhead with a massive stone fly. Like almost 2 inches long. He let me in on his secret and I came up with this version. Back then it was hard to get the good jig style hooks. Nothing pretty but the steelhead loved it especially late winter early spring. Was my secret for a couple years till everyone caught and stated refining it to the nice ones you see in the stores now. I always experimented with different colour combos. I remember an all white one with yellow was the ticket one year
  9. Excellent re cap. Thanks for taking the time to post ! Get me out there next season. That place looks like paradise
  10. Not to sure about this. Look at Lake Erie with their trophy season. The lake still kicks out giant bass on both sides of the border. I would be more concerned about the effect on other fish species. Could you imagine fishing BOQ up shallow in the spring for “bass “ ie giant walleye and pike during April. Either way there are going to be rule breakers and people that take advantage of the new regs
  11. Used to have an evinrude 115 fict injection. Never had so many issues with a motor. Made the switch to Yamaha and never looked back. So , no

Thanks for all the kind replies guys. 2020 has definitely been a roller coaster ride. Old Ironmaker said it best. We should be very thankful for what we have and appreciate and be grateful for all the little things. I have for sure put my time in and am very proud of some of my fishing accomplishments this year and hope you guys appreciate the fish porn. Had some more pics to share but couldn’t load fir some reason. Maybe next time. Let’s hope for a great 2021

    2020

Despite 2020 being a complete $hit show, I had some fun out there on the water. was a later than normal open water season for pike but we did well teaching the young lads how to fish for spring pike. Explaining the finer points of jerkbaits to the kids it was fun watching them hone in on their new found skill. bass fishing was hit and miss for me this year. I fished a total of 8 new lakes this summer which took up most of my bass season. Some a complete waste of time, some still on the radar for further exploration next summer. My typical late season largemouth trips went right up until November 22 and may extend to one more trip. Possibly a couple trips to the mighty Niagara coming up soon but with the borders closed and no drifting allowed on the US side I may focus back on pike to round out the season. Here is my best fish porn of 2020. Enjoy
  17. You may also want to consider the horsepower and weight distribution expected. I have a 16 ft SC with a 50 hp and if it was a tiller it would probably have a hard time getting up on plane with my fat a$$ at the back of the boat. I do love the open space of a tiller tho
  18. All the pics are great ! I especially love those green buckets ! Nice
