  1. I would be down for a day out like that. A lake with safe ice for sleds would make it even better. Sled, portable hut and auger, good to go!
  2. Any one know whether Dalrymple has safe ice? Sled safe? Thanks Ab
  3. This is my new sled. New Sled.zip
  4. Wolverines are the largest member of the weasel family. Essentially the fisher is a very close cousin, just more aquatic in nature. lol
  5. Simply put...Princecraft cannot be beat. Lund will match and sometimes offer more, but a Princecraft is a well built and proven performer in each and every class of boat it manufactures. Getting the Holiday DLX with a windshield and second hand will be a tough challenge. Most people who own a Princecraft are often reluctant to sell as is. Considering the model you seek seems even rarer then most, your quest may prove very tough indeed. Try calling Keswick Marine. They may be able to help you out. They are a Princecraft dealer and John and Mark have always proven very helpful to me when needed. Ab
  6. We were the group leaving when you were arriving. We had a great time at Richter as well. We must of caught in the neighborhood of thousand fish over the 7 days. I personally had a day where I caught over 100 fish. It was absolutely crazy. I have been meaning to do report of my own, but have not found the time. Getting back into the work schedule has been taxing to say the least. I am also waiting for one of guys in our group to send me the pictures that he took over the week as well. Richter is a fish factory. Non stop action all day long. Even on a slow day, I would catch in the neighborhood of 50 fish. The biggest pike we caught, came in at 36inches. I had one slightly smaller at 33inches. Good times and freaking great sunsets! Ab
  7. As a result of a rough night of drinking at the local sandbar, this is Musky Puke! Ab
  8. What lake were you on Terry? Just curious. It would be good to know. Ab
  9. I have stayed there in the past. Bryer Lodge is a great place. Very clean, the location is awesome and the cabins are very nice. I have stayed a variety of place on the French now and this is by and large my favorite. Ab
  10. I don't really know much about "Roosters" playing hockey or whether there are many of them playing in the NHL. Unless you are referring to Bettman, in which case I would easily agree...he is a real C@#$@! (Rooster) However, this having been said, I do know that as far as Rosters go....their are 11 Canadians playing for the Canucks and 17 playing for Boston. We are talking 6 players on a team that does not exist in any Province In Canada that I know of by the name of Massachusetts. The fact that the Canucks are on this side of the border, easily makes them more Canadian then 6 players playing for the dark side! lol Ab
  11. I have the Holdiday DLX with a 60hp on the back. Great boats! Just like you, I went from the Fisherman to the Holiday DLX. I am now looking at upgrading again to something with a full windsheild, bigger motor and all the tops and bling that go with it. Guess what boat manufacturer I will be buying from? You guessed it! Princecraft makes one of the best boats hands down! I will be a Princecraft owner for life. Ab
  12. Man you are killing me! I have a wedding to attend on the May 24 weekend. I was pissed that someone would plan their wedding for that weekend as is! Now I am rotten! lol Ab
  13. The Nucks are my team! I live, eat and breath Canucks Hockey! Last night was a total nail biter! That game was perhaps one of the most amazing playoff games one could ever watch! Whether you were a fan of either team or not. Fast, furious, amazing hits, spectacular saves and all the drama one could ever handle. In the end the better team prevailed. Cory Crawford was absolutely astounding! What a performance put forth by that young talent! We will certainly see and hear a lot more of him in years to come. He was simply the only reason the Hawks had even the slightest chance last night! As for all this nonsense about officiating, it goes both ways! Get over it and move on. In previous games, the Nucks had plenty of reason to chirp aswell! In the end, Vancouver gets to celebrate a much deserved victory and Chicago gets to work on their golf swing. It could have just as easily have been Vancouver booking their tee off times today. That's just the way the puck bounces in Playoff Hockey! Truly Amazing!!!!! Ab
  14. I have a 2010 F150 XTR with the 5.4. I love it! This having been said, I test drove the new 2011 EcoBoost 3.5 liter V6 today and HOLY! That thing would kick the crap out of my truck! Honestly...you have a hard time keeping the wheels from spinning righ off of it! I am totally impressed and disapointed that purchased my truck before the Eco Boost came out. It gets phenominal fuel milage where as mine is absolute pig! I get on average 17liters to the 100k. The Ecoboost is like 14 in the city and 9 on the Highway. This all having been said, its the power that blows your mind! It really really really pulls! I just could not believe the difference in torgue and throttle repsonse between my 5.4 and this 3.5! The ecoboost would literally leave us guys with teh V8's standing still! AB
  15. I have seen this before and though you will not believe it, this work was done by a Pileated Woodpecker. I have witnessed the exact same distruction on a couple of trees in brothers back yard. Trust me! The handy work is identical. Here is a link to show you what one looks like! http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birds/pileated-woodpecker.html They are the largest of the Woodpecker family standing between 16 and 19 inches tall. If you ever see one work, you would rub your eyes and scratch your head in disbelief. They can and do tear our large shreds of wood from the tree. Just like the ones you see on the ground in your picture. If you havent seen one in your back yard, consider yourself lucky! Ab
  16. Hey slop, can't you ice fish it in the winter? Looks like an awesome place, I dont think I could manage having to wait an entire winter until my return! lol Ab
  17. The Toureg is one of the worst Consumer rated vehicles on the market. I would highly advise looking at consumer reports and used vehicle reviews regarding the VW before you consider buying one. They have a reputation for being huge lemons! You cannot go wrong with Nissan or Toyota really. I had a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder that I drove the freaking heck out of. The motor was... and still is bullet proof! I put over 240,000km on it before I had to sink any real money into it. Even then...it was just maintenance and everydays ware and tear item replacements.
  18. I have not been able to find the knipex cutters. I have been looking for awhile now. Suggestions would be helpful. Ab
  19. Here here! Bettman is the leading bottom feeding maggot of Professional Sports! Ab
  20. This is another thing to consider as well. The solid rear axle is great if you actually intend to use the bike to tow a great deal of stuff! Ex: Pulling wood out of the bush or towing heavy loads. Otherwise, its not really good at all for trail riding, road riding or riding in the deep thick rough stuff. On trails, The solid rear axle offers no articulation of the suspension. This will often lead to one tire being high sided and not having contact with the ground, resulting in traction loss and a tipping hazard. Riding on roads with a solid rear axle is okay, but when you go into turns at high speeds, the solid rear axle cannot suck up the turn like independent suspension will. This leads to wheel hopping and yet again, a tipping hazard. In the deep thick rough stuff, the solid rear axle almost ALWAYS gets hung up on something! As such, you either must have winch (highly adviseable anyhow) or you have to dismount and start lifting, pulling, pushing and generally humping your backside off in order to get the bike unsnagged. Not so bad or difficult with a little 350 or 400cc bike, but a major back busting, butt sweating hassle if you are riding a 600lb Big Bore or Twin 650-800cc quad. The question will be... do you use the bike specifically as work horse, or do you intend to pleasure ride with some occassional use as a work machine. If the answer is the latter of which, the independant suspension can pull, push and hump just fine, but it will also afford you a great deal of comfort and safety when riding for pleasure as opposed to a solid axle bike. 21. ' Well Colin, you will get many varying oppinons on this topic. That being said, I do have some thoughts of my own to offer. I for one own a Suzuki King Quad 700. The Suzuki King Quad is ranked as one of the best over all, go anywhere ATV's on the market. Down sides, it is heavy! The Suzuki's are very reliable and my beast has never left me stranded anywhere and has cost me very little money in maintenance in the time I have had it. Now, as for the other brands, each have their pros and cons. I personally would stay well clear of the Polaris and Artic Cat brands. They have the reputaion of being great when they are new, but they have a heavy burden on maintenance and lack relaiability down the stretch. Their resale is really not that great either. Honda has the reputation of having the best reliability of any bike on the market! They are simply bullet proof! However, their technology is really behind the times when it comes to ATV's. They do not have authentic, true 4X4 capability. Their 4X4 system is a limited slip set up. Meaning, when you really get into the deep nasty stuff (that you WILL encounter on occassion, even if you have no intention of looking for it) the Honda lacks the ability to select the 4X4 Differential Lock. The Diff Lock will get you out of stuff that the a limited slip just cannot. Anyone who tells you otherwise, has not really buried their bike bad, whether accidentally or intentionally. Kawasaki Big Bores are monsters! Total hair raising beasts. Though I have heard they have some issues with reliability as well. CAN AM's are way over priced for what you get. This all having been said, I will tell you the same thing I told my brother when he was looking to buy an ATV. I have a Suzuki King Quad and I love it, but bang for buck...you just cannot go wrong with the Yamaha. They offer everything! Reliabilty, easy maintenance, an abundant availability of parts when things do go wrong and they are one tough peice of kit! The Yamaha name is one of most recognized and distinguised brands when it comes to ATV's. They can do it all. Push a plow, pull a cord of wood, dig down deep in the mud, raise hell with big bore power on the straight stretches. They also have EXCELLENT resale value. My brother bought his Grizzly and thanks me often for guiding him in this direction to this very day. Anyways, thats my oppinion on the subject. I would also advise you go check out this website. www.nyrocatv.com. It will virtually be one of the best resources that an ATV rider could ever have! The members on here are super helpful and will assist you with any questions, problem or concerns you would have as an ATV owner, Rider, or potential buyer! Save it in your favorites, because it will come in handy! TRUST me on that! Ab
  22. I fully agree with the above. There is absolutely no way that all three securing methods failed at once! Maybe if they maintained it like they themselves owned it instead of the tax payer, this sort of nonsense would not occur. I have never had, nor have seen any ONE of those straps fail on any of my boats over the years. Let alone all of them! Ab
  23. You just cannot go wrong with Nissan! The 3.5 litre engine that they built their brand on is absolutely bullet proof! I can assure you, it will go down in history as one of the best motors ever built. I know they just upsized their motors in the Pathfinder to a 4.0 litre, but if its Nissan, it will go the distance. Ab
  24. I would have to say I am in the same boat as Pigeontroller on this one. I have a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. It is a beast! It too is quite hard on gas, but she tows like a dream. Real deal 4X4 that has never left me stranded and the reliabilty is unsurpassed. I currently have 230,000k on it right now, and the motor still runs like new. It has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned! I have not had to put one cent into this thing beyond your usual maintenance items like oil changes, brakes, tires etc. Same story on the buying new one as well though. I love the Pathfinder, but I am looking at pickup trucks as my next purchase. I have an ATV and a boat. I would like to take both with me on occassion and the Pathfinder does not allow for this. Ab
  25. Cat and dog kibble work real well. Ab
