  1. I would rather the pop up if I was to start looking today because when it's closed you can still strap a small tinny to the 'roof' when in travel mode. And I have seen them as low as $1,500 locally in good looking condition. Never went in to check it but from the curb it looked good. You may find a great deal on one and if you have a place to store it then you're golden. Storing it is the concern for most...
  2. A(Atlantic)+B(Brown) = C C=Caught a nice fish..
  3. welcome, enjoy, have fun and a nice intro.
  4. As for the storm drains, yeah I know 2 in Brooklin some kids moved minnows into that were right after the rainbow run and where the minnows were taken from they were about to all die anyway due to lack of water. I want to go back to the one my kids friends plunked about 40 into... But I don't live there now...
  5. Most of the courses in Ont that the PGA stops at have all the bigger ponds stocked with bass. Been there and done that to know first hand to be honest.
  6. I just shaped a 'faux cork' wine cork the other day thinking I need some better floats for the price. Nice going B!
  7. looks like a spot you missed raking up in the fall when you made a pile of leaves...
  8. I grew up on the North end of Hali lake Cliff. Delaney Rd was longer back then (went all the way out to Hali lake rd) and named Delaney Dr after my grandfather who's team brought the Hydro to the area. I can tell you a whole lot of SMB spots on that lake and a trolling section...
  9. I have used both. I have a few bags of wood chips to go along with the wood chunks. The chunks I have are all cut from logs I have/had. Check your email Rick...
  10. for fish I use the blend like I posted on page 1 (black cherry and apple). when I make my brine for the fish I keep some for a spray bottle too. keeps the fish nice and moist... a great brine makes a huge diff too.
  11. this is easy and doesn't cost much at all http://www.tscstores.com/30-COOKMASTER-PROPANE-SMOKER-P15624.aspx
  12. mind you I got this last season and I'm looking to convert the right side for propane to have a steady heat source... http://www.tscstores.com/3-BURNER-PROPANECHARCOAL-BBQ-P12041.aspx
  13. Rick, what kind of smoker are you after? There is a decent propane unit at TSC that I used for a few seasons that worked great. I made one many years ago out of wood and used an electric hotplate as well. It really all depends on how you want to use it and how often and no matter what; you will not get the same feedback either way... lol I'm on my 4th smoker unit now... PS, I had the $199 1 door master chef unit and I would rather of had the 2 door for the extra $50 based on what I had just seen on the CTC site. *hence the edit*
  14. I smoke fish often but for some reason I didn't last year... Cliff, Will (the former young_one) have sampled my cooking and said it was great so I'll take their word for it because I think its great too. It's funny when I do smoke salmon, trout or even walleye it's gone in a few minutes when anyone's around; my kids included. They eat it like it's candy... I get the best flavours from a mix of black cherry and maple wood. The leftover water in the bucket I use to soak the wood chunks (it smells like a wine) so I tend to put some of that in the drip bowl too. Not sure if it helps the flavour or not but might as well put it to use...
  15. Nice report gents. Poor, poor "Rubins" I can hear him now talking about the "packing" he does right Joe? LOL! It's good to see all had fun and from the looks of it all caught something so nobody went home with streaks down the back. Good job on the report Cliff!
  16. I KNOW you can pull this off 'brother' and get through it and you have me and others to lean on when needed!

  17. When in doubt, use a pre-paid credit card. If you know you are about to buy a $100 item then go pick up a pre-paid card and use it so they can not take more cash than the $100 on the card.
  18. pax and pam's together just don't go as well as one would hope....
  19. I was just pointing out the "public" part of your statement was not required.
  20. The problem with a "wholesale" ISP like tecsavvy is that the company they rent off (Bell, Rogers, Cogeco) can and DO slow them down to offer the customers they (Bell, Rogers, Cogeco) provide service to a faster speed.
  21. What if what BillM said was not done in public but found out about later? Same story? Either way I like what Canuck2fan said about the Dr being tied to the future outcomes if there are any. Yeah Old Ironmaker those "pams" are not the fun one's to hang out with. They too can kill someone or bring them to the end of their rope...
  22. nice going Chris and young Chris! I'm off Wed if your passing by and want to head out again, just saying... LOL!
  23. seeing how plasma is a gas based unit let it sit for a few days and try it again. Could be as simple as a fuse too. Hate to see you dump a TV for a simple reason like a fuse. Google is better based on your model number to find answers than this fishing site...
  24. Now that doesn't make you the king of pop-up-anchoring now does it Bunk... HA!
  25. It's all good all. I know what a pop up is like in the wind considering a had a 'hybrid' of that with a Clam 2000 (hard base fold up) and have had that move like a kite and I have used other pop up's a bunch of times in the recent past with others. When the ice is thick enough and the Ram and I can get out that's the primary anchor and wind block for the XL2000. My initial question was for cost, ease of use and quality. The XL2000 is exactly what I was after from a quality, price and weight (if needed to carry or drag in a sled) point of view. The best part of the transaction was when I walked into Sail and said "Hey Jackie" and he said "Hey Geoff great to see you again". That's customer service on top of a great product and a great deal...
