  1. I'm one of those with you... Like Rick..
  2. Yeah Rick the musky here are a different strain and are very, well, fragile. They don't "play well with others" I have been told from the musky guru's. Hence the reason I gave up fishing for them...
  3. Good to see you (and this time Sue too) again Cliff B!

Thanks and save those files on that Lenovo and I'll get it running in top shape in no time

  4. Not heading there this weekend to try but if my daughter wants to hit the ice then that may change a bit then.
  5. You can make ANY unit portable and don't always need a second transducer....
  6. I only buy local minnows to the lake I'm going to fish on in the winter for other lakes like Simcoe (if I even buy any at all). After a member here sent me the pic my kids and I went to the same spot (knowing the background ) and used the FishTV camera and found a bunch of perch and seen 1 crappie on screen. This is a small lake and has a rather deep underground river to another lake I've been told (on here). And yeah Brian fish eggs stuck to a water landing bird can be deposited into another water body when it lands but the odds of survival are very low I would guess. So where to try and target them? I never fish for them as they are not know in this lake... I can find them close to home (not at the lake I'm talking about) but that's in the summer...
  7. I recall that...
  8. It is... And things like that are why I wouldn't trust me changing heads on the cords. However I never leave one plugged in at all times either and that seems to be the case there in the link.
  9. The sad part is that this lake hadn't had one in there till as of late
  10. I don't hunt and I want one!!
  11. So I was wondering, if crappie get into a lake they haven't been in where would one try and target them in the winter? The whole North end is about 20' deep with random humps and rocks and the ONE and ONLY that I have digital proof of was caught in that area in the fall. The rest of the lake is about 60' deep and shaped like a bowl in the deeper area.
  12. Seen the 1st pic this fall and it was NOT a tiger, 100% pike... About mid 30's too
  13. TJ I have seen pic's of them caught posted in Rice and recently Scugog as well. PIC proof. Not natural and 100% invasive.
  14. That's what I grabbed a bag of as a back up. I still have a 1/4 or less left of driveway salt so I should be good but wanted to give the others a heads up to not go out shopping for salt if you don't have to go out in Lindsay.
  15. My kids are 13 and 10, they really liked the FishTV underwater camera just to look around with. If you don't have an underwater camera see if you can borrow one. Or a sonar at least. My camera is dead now but a decent sonar let's them see the fish too and makes it a "game"
  16. well it IS bad in Lindsay right now and not a single retailer has road salt left in stock. The earliest they "may" get some in is Friday. Be safe all.
  17. I am NOT shocked here. We ALL come from different walks of life too so yeah I'm never shocked as to who is here reading what is being said. Like the new shirt I got?
  18. That's part of Simcoe still from the looks of it...
  19. If on a jig I have gone in the mouth of a minnow and out through the eye socket and YES they do stay alive and active. I too have gone away from live bait but won't turn it down if offered...
  20. currently I have a pack of #6 hooks for steelhead/trout
  21. yup! hence i said 'out the nose'. between the lips and the eyes as you are not 'braining' them and killing it.
  22. up from the base of the jaw and out the 'nose' and the barb will keep the minnow on 95% of the time
  23. Dad is that you? My fathers set up the same way. Me not so much...
  24. That's what took out my "go to spots" last year on my home lake. I'm a walleye guy more than a bass guy so those changes really messed up my walleye spots 10x more than my bass spots. It was an odd season last year. And I didn't find the fish in any deeper or shallower, just holding to different or hiding in different structure.
  25. I too plan on making one for the lower effort needed for when in snow VS the toboggan being a plow
