A leader is only used here (for me) rarely and I direct tie to either super slick8 or spiderwire stealth on spinning reels. Most lures used are a reaction lure and not fished slow hence the lack of a leader for me. If not using a backing on the spool then a single wrap of electrical tape works well to avoid any line slippage.

Very interesting. I'm of the idea they DID or DO have a few out there to try and fight the Yote problems. In Lindsay there is a TON (or sounds like it) of Yote's yipping in the North end almost nightly. Next time I see my cousin who (last I was aware) worked for MNR in PTBO I'm going to have to remember to ask her a few things and this is one!

One thing you didn't say was with the "4 adults" is pleasure boating and slow comfort rides part of this or is it "just for fishing"? I have an 18.6 Glass bowrider that can be rigged with a trolling motor. The rig is a Northstar then became Grew and who knows what they are called now. It's powered by a Johnson 115 FastStrike and ZERO issues here, not even with the impeller. Sure mine doesn't have a back casting deck but the seating area design let's 2 people (mainly my kids) fish from the back on either side of the boat and have a more stable lower to the water casting area. I stand up front on the V bench and can add a removable deck over the seats if I ever wanted to. I also have a 1970's Lund 14' tinny. Made so well it still to this day doesn't leak a drop. What would I do today if I had the cash to go out and change it all up? Not sure. Depends on my current needs and future needs. You don't have kids yet I'm going to guess. Think future use too for if you ever go down that path... Nobody want's to buy a boat every few years cause things have changed at home...

what get's me going is in the past they were told by the CRT that they cannot raise the volume of TV ad's (so you hear it in the other room as that is when you are likely to get up and do 'something") and that went away for a while but I have a buddy with a S or * branded sat company now in his home and the ad is so loud no matter what channel he has to mute the TV.
