  1. Give the Whitby store a call: https://www.royaldistributing.com/Catalogues/Main/2018-Spring-Fall/140/
  2. I'm old, 8's weren't out then. The kneeboard and big surfboards will last for years behind the 8hp
  3. Yup, I did as a kid. Even surfed on those big styrofoam surfboards into my teens being pulled by a 7.7
  4. Jalapeno ring's for added flavour and yes they are poppers. SOOOO good!!!
  5. My day yesterday....
  6. My fav. combo of woods to use
  7. Two decades ago when I worked a future shop all open box items had to be marked and reduced. Gives the customer a chance to 'take a chance' and save or buy new in box. I'm shocked that isn't mandatory in retail...
  8. This is my fish brine. Brine: Soy (500ML), water (2L), honey (3 spoons), sweet chili tai (1/4 jar), pinch of brown sugar and then diced fresh jalapeno peppers. Then I boil the brine and then let cool before I use it so the brine is well mixed. The wood used for smoking is key. I like apple & black cherry in the smoker together for fish. When I make a brine I keep some for a misting/spray bottle. Part way through the smoking process I'll give the fish a mist. The fish turns out super moist and not like a dry jerky. Also I don't pat it dry I put it right in the smoker after it's sat for 24hrs in the brine in the fridge. My old unit had a large drip pan and I was learning at the time but if I was going to make some anytime soon that's how I'd be doing it. Big Cliff has eaten it this way and said it was great, so has young_one (or what ever name he's using now). My kids even love fish smoked this way.
  9. Yes you can get chunks. They are smaller than you may guess but bigger than the wood chips. TSC may have what you are looking for Mr B as I know I have purchased small bags of chunks before but cannot recall what store... When I have access to apple wood and black cherry I take it and make my own chunks from the limbs ans smaller sections of the tree.
  10. Very nice Mr B
  11. Hence the reason I posted ASAP after seeing this still going on, cheers
  12. Amazing answer! I would still call it in to the tips line no matter what if you are 100% a law is being broken and in this case SMB a law is broken.
  13. True. Gagnon's sell's Streamside so you can hold it before you buy.
  14. Warranty is in Markham too so not too far...
  15. Dutch, have you checked out any of the Streamside float reels? I had a rod they made and was very happy. They have 3 float reels I think and are decent price points.
  16. Naw B, When I sold my float gear I haven't looked since. I know I got my Aventa for $100 or so back then
  17. when I had a pin I had one of those and then switched up to the Okuma Raw II. I got it new (the Raw 2) at Sail for $189.99 plus tax. I told them "Gagon's across the road is $189 so if you can match that I'll get it here vs going back over there" and they did without question.
  18. Congrats Simon and I hope all goes well and you enjoy it
  19. Nice fish and so close to home. I'd have stayed in had I seen that black cloud in pic's 2 and 3...
  20. Today looks like the ice finally went out on 4 mile lake. It was covered yesterday when I was there but it was starting to bust up...
  21. At least she din't ask why or how you wash your gas...
  22. Oh yeah! I've had to stop casts because I was going to be too far from my target (ie hung in a tree or dock)
  23. See my home lake is a 'land locked lake' but does have an underground river to another lake. 4ML is my home lake. Since selling my tinny and truck I am stuck there unless as a guest in another's boat. Hence the reason for my question to everyone. To see how other lakes are producing. Hell the local college fishing program net's 4ML yearly and has yet to catch a crappie yet I know 100% as a member of this board's daughter has caught one and he sent me a pic. I even know the spot from the background. Yet to find one... If he read's this he can post the pic as I will not as it is his daughter holding the fish. May try more this year to find them too if the winds stay low as the tinny is sold...
  24. Yeah 35-50CM can be kept here OTHER than Balsam. Keep the post's coming as I enjoy reading others findings. Makes me think I may have to change things up a bit, not much but just a tad...
  25. Hey all. So what are your thoughts on the slot limit size 35-50CM in FMZ zone 17 other than Balsam lake? Do you see it working? I hope it is!! No I'm not 'fising' for it to be changed... Last year I got a lot of too small and too big fish and not many in the slot. If you fish this zone often for walleye what have your findings been? Don't get me wrong as I always put the big one's back (pre-slot size coming into play). And on day's where I wasn't catching 2 or 3 keepers they (slot size to keep) would all go back as I wanted to ensure enough of a fresh not frozen meal for myself, my kids and my parents. So what are your findings in relation to what you are catching and or seeing? G
