  1. You know you can store a net in a rod holder too if you are just casting or trolling slow, right? I have a 14' tinny and my net can hold a high 40" musky and it's not in my way. eTackle.ca can order you what ever you need too. I just ordered a few lures from Phil that they don't carry but he could get them and got them for me at a better price then others around could offer too. Just a thought and no, I don't work with or for the folks at etackel.ca to set the record straight.
  2. what outhouse were you all fishing in Randy?!?!?!
  3. smart you could come but that's a heck of a treck for a short time. Hence the "people I have fished with" because I know they are with in a reasonable drive time...
  4. Nope, not that I know of. Bruce, we have yet to get out but any time is a good time! I hope all is and or will be well!!! PM HH and I and if either of us can maybe we can visit, your call. Damn Wayne, you know you and a few others "frilly Friday" folks are welcome any day! It's guys like Skeeter that worry me... I mean my folks place would never be the same after that CHILI! Feel free to PM me anyone interested. Fenlon Falls area might be real close to you (Big_Cliff, Beans?) or real far from you (Limy! ). Either way, I'm looking forward to getting out on the water again either solo or with someone from here, cheers. Geoff
  5. I know what those plans are and because I have to help my dad is why I'm not going to be there too. By the way, we never see ____ in this part of the lake...
  6. sounds or looks like someone is messing with your account. If not, a match, a stick-o-dy-no-might (a la Jimmy Walker voice) throw it out and wait... now if you don't have that then I guess you might be in a bit of trouble then...
  7. Hey all. A few of you here and I have gone fishing from time to time. it could have been BOQ, my folks cottage or any trib any time or any lakes close to home. So, anyone of you care to get out for a bit at my folks place on Sat. for a bit? I have some things to do to help around the house before I go up and then at the cottage so I plan to be there before noon. I'm going to fish from noon'ish till dinner, then right back out for as long as I can. Sunday I am booked up in the afternoon but if you can make it by 7:30'ish AM ( ) then maybe we can get out for a bit as I have to be back by lunch for company. Let me know if it's worth the drive and time for you to get out for a bit, cheers. Geoff
  8. now till Nov is my fav. time of year! the kids go to bed when it's getting dark and that means I get more time on the water and off the dock! I'm soooo looking forward to this weekend.
  9. I got some real good deals from Dave last weekend and I plan to stop in again soon.

  11. Simon, have you been told today? as always, nice going!
  12. what kind of wood are you going to use? I get a 450 or 500ML bottle of soy sauce and put it in a large pot. Add 1L of water 100ML of Honey 4 table spoons of VH brand "sweet chili Thai" either a had full of hot pepper rings or 2 small jalapeno peppers (cut to rings) Let simmer but not boil. Cool and then put fish in a container with enough brine to cover and the rest goes into a spray bottle. Let fish sit in the brine for 24 hours in the fridge. heat smoker and get the smoke going and add fish at 200* to 225* The wood chips I soak for 12 to 24 hours too and when I do fish it's 1/2 apple and 1/2 black cherry. with my propane smoker I'm done in 2 to 3.5 hrs depending on the thickness of the meat. I open the door from time to time to make sure the smoke is going good and when I do this I give the fish a little squirt/spray/mist of the brine I made so the meat is moist and has a lot of ALL flavors used. Good luck! Cheers. Geoff
  13. hummm, I'm going to have to try fishing with a few rubber duckies this weekend then...
  14. some places still sell them. I know the Walmart in Stouffville cleared them out at $25.00 each rather then the normal $75.
  15. Well Paul, I just might have to do it again and have someone close by with a camera. even more so now that the cottage right next to us has new owners too so they missed it when I did it...
  16. That was my point to doing it. That guy thinks he knows everything there is to know about the lake and fishing... what one? the flying one or the giant rapala?
  17. Paul, you should have seen the look on the guys face 2 cottages away when I got a big bass off the dock. The best part was I had a rod rigged up with one of the giant rapala lures on it in the boat hidden so he couldn't see it. I got the fish in, held it up and yelled over to him. "Hey Randy, what do you think?" he said "nice fish, what did you catch it on" so I held up the rod rigged with the joke lure and watched his jaw hit his dock... The lure de jour...
  18. I would be up for that but the wind swirls too much…

  20. cliff, if you decide to try a leader, 6 to 10LB floro with a uni to uni knot to tie the two lines together. the uni to uni goes through the guides no problem. I'm going to do some testing this weekend too...
  21. Did you try an PM pikeslayer?
  22. so you figured out the trick did you? you know, the one where you say "this spot isn't know for ____" and you get the big ones...
  23. Hey all. I know this link is old but I ran into the owners daughter today and YES there is still hope the dog is alive. There has been spottings/sightings of the dog all over Brooklin. The most common areas that are sending the calls in are from the Carwith Rd area at the East end where the road ends and to the North of there towards Columbus Rd. I'll be going for a walk in the woods today in the area to see if I see her. if you spot the dog don't try and catch her, call the number and keep an eye on her, cheers. http://www.durhamregion.com/article/177598 Geoff
