I had to check this reel out after you posted this... sorry, a junkie... So I looked on http://www.etackle.ca/abu-garcia-revo-premier-spinning-reel/ and from the looks of it I LIKE it. But I would have to get rid of that EVA handle. I had Shimano Ci4 and sold it ASAP because I just didn't like the feel. I am however VERY happy with my Shimano Stradic FJ 2500 on my DS rod.

I have one (bigger Aqua-Vu; not micro) and it does help when fishing through the ice. My kids loved looking at the fish we couldn't catch... LOL. I have fished with the better units too but as long as you can shadow the display to see it in the sun it's all good. You just need to made an arm to sit over the hole to spin the camera around slow if the unit you buy doesn't come with one. The motorcycle battery I got for mine lasts a long time too in the cold.

you just said it right there the reason you don't NEED a flasher... lakes up to 50'. Why spend unless you want the toy when you don't have to? Based on the 50' comment you don't have to. Use anything. When fishing deeper water for lakers and so forth then a flasher can be very handy to see the depth and so forth but not needed in my mind based on your OP. Now if you want to get one and invite me to go test it with ya, I'm all for it! G

I will. I plan on heading out soon and don't have OFC on my cell yet, but I will soon. I also found this old post about the area and I'm glad I did! http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19044 My place is SO close to the area and to find out it's closing in a week or so sucks but it's a good thing too. It's a good thing so I didn't go out and break any laws. Now to find a panfishing spot below the locks is the key for me...

Hey all. It's been a long, LONG 2013 for me but I'm finally back. I hope all is well and I look forward to seeing what's going on and with luck post some reports. I just moved to Lindsay so my fishing is going to be very limited while I get set up around the new place. But if anyone is in the area and is looking for someone to fish with PM ME please!!! I don't know a soul in this town or where to go. So for now I'll just work on the house... Unless that river's holding some fish then look out I'm on my way... It's GOOD to be back! G

Iron Mike WILL be missed by many and I sure am one of those many. I have been listening to 97.7 since the 90's until as of late (been out of range) and he was by far the best radio personality ANY station could wish for. You will be missed Iron one...
