  1. Thanks, yeah I still have the ad. I tried emailing Abu Garcia several times and I got no response from them. I'll try BPS.
  2. Last winter, during BPS's Spring Fishing Sale, they had deal on the Abu Garcia Revos. If you bought a Revo, Abu Garcia would send you a PFD valued at $89.99. I bought the Revo, I submitted the form to Abu Garcia, and to make a long story short, Abu Garcia will not be sending me the PFD. Apparently Abu Garcia did not intend on issuing this promo in Canada, and will not be sending out the PFD's. My question is do I go after BPS who printed the ad, or Abu Garcia who will not offer the promo item. I think there's a couple of BPS employees here that may be able to help. Did this happen to anyone else on the board? Thanks in advance
  3. I have a couple of the Abu's. Perfect for ice fishing.
  4. Tip your sabiki with bits of meat or squid for quick bait catching action. If the pinfish are around you'll have a dozen in no time.
  5. There are some cheap salt water alternatives on the Gulf Side. You can surf fish for free on the beach and maybe hook into a monster snook, redfish, shark, mackerel, sea trout etc. or you can take a head boat deep sea fishing for app. $70-80 for a full day trip and hook into some grouper and snapper. Send me a PM if you need any surf fishing tips. Good luck!
  6. Smile...I'll pay for the stitches.
  7. Nice fish dude!
  8. A pardon is only good in Canada. US Customs still keeps records of any convictions regardless of a Canadian Pardon. As previously mentioned, check with US Customs prior to your trip. If the crime was minor they will probably make you sign some paperwork before you enter the US. Good luck.
  9. Be careful what you eat out of there. The factory on the lake may have something to do with it. Check the Fish Eating Guide to be sure.
  10. Are you allowed to use two rods per person on Lake Erie? Thanks in advance
  11. Try using fluorocarbon leaders, there invisible in the water. Use a uni to uni knot and you're good to go.
  12. Great report. I've got that same Abu Garcia combo. CTC special.
  13. Funny enough, the cops have been out the last two weekends. They have been thoroughly checking every boat in Scugog. The one officer mentioned that he handed out 16 tickets two weekends ago.
  14. I've bought 2 large spools of Power Pro. 40lb for my baitcasters & 20lb for my spinners. In the long run it's a lot cheaper buying in bulk. These 1500' spools cost app. $110-120 bucks on eBay, but be very weary of knock off product. The store that I've been using on eBay for years is called HarleeRod. Good luck
  15. Thanks for the report. I'll have to check out the action myself this week. Cheers!
  16. Scugog was tough this weekend. Good to see someone caught something.
  17. How exactly do you pinch down the barbs?
  18. Secure. eBay owns them.
  19. Thanks for the responses, I'll have to take your advice and slow it down Mark. Those bowfin do have a great tug on them. I've had a few spinnerbaits destroyed by them. Cheers!
  20. Hey gang, I normally spend my weekends up on Simcoe pursuing LMB's, SMB's, pike, and perch. I've noticed, and in speaking to others that frequent Simcoe, that the fishing has been slow this year. Perhaps the Carp die off has affected the bite? I've also noticed that there have not been too many reports out of Simcoe this summer. Have you guys noticed a difference?
  21. Thanks, cool game.
  22. Thanks for the tips guys. I'll probably be booking with Figure 8. I'll make sure to send a report. I'd like to do LSC one day, but I absolutely can't stand the drive from TO to Windsor. Cheers!
  23. Agreed. I did make sure that all the shark were properly released and handled in the water
  24. GCD, I haven't met too many people on this board, but I definitely want to meet you. I wouldn't even talk fishing, I'd just make note of your 100's of one liners.
  25. nice pic, must have been one helluva hook set to knock the lip off
