I did well with them for specks once last year when we werent getting any on spoons or minnows...i think the fly looking hook at the end was the trick. Might look like an emergent coming out of the bottom.

I know they work...ive seen them, and fished with guys in which thats all they use for lakers or specks, I just cant seem to get them to work for me and ive tried. thats all right though..the arsenal is large and loaded.

It was a great game...not a classic. The better team won, they had better Defence and Goaltending, which ended up being the difference. Petrieangelo was a dud...cant believe he's playin in the NHL. Lots of great hits in the first period by both teams, it was entertaining to watch. Poor Jake Allen...bad time to have a bad game, but didnt have much help in front of him in his own end.

They are the first lure i grab for for specks...jiggin line and set lines...they are dynamite for me. As for colours...the greyish one, and the green/yellow are the best for me....deadly little lure.

Good on ya for getting out....I made it out on the 31st when it was warm and we did well...we planned on going all three days but each day was getting cancelled due to the extreme cold...-30 here all three days around 730 am....cant really fish they way we wanted to with that so we stayed home....the cold just woke the giant though...gonna hit them hard the next few weekend thats for sure. Nicely done again Doc! P.S. Its nice to see also people letting them nice fish go and only keeping a a few for dinner....there is hope for us yet....and it makes it easier to tell ya where the trails are broken too Did you see the new lake trout limit...not a nice slot size, but will definitly help the fish and keep a lot of people out of the area.

White Tube jigs are golden up here....also forage minnows (there a spoon) made by northland tackle....amazing through the ice. Also, nk 28 jigged have produced well before and continue to do so. All of the mentioned tipped with a minnow or half are deadly.

IM not sure about the doc...but on mine...all i have through the spool of line is a small nut and bolt....i can keep it tight, or reel loose depending on the species im fishing for...and i use the exact same set up.

thats what i am using to Lucas...the exact same set up. Works well for me for everything from perch to lakers and specks to eyes. My buddy modified his though....he uses pvc pipe and a dowling as well...however, he put a fuse or something on the top so when the dowling went down a certain distance it triggers the fuse and makes a sound and the top will light up. I think the light is a light from an over. Works great...especially when your not paying attention or for eyes at night.
