  1. Quite the Sweet June.
  2. Don't make me come up there !!!!!
  3. Just as I was thinking.
  4. Sounds good. From my reading, it sounded that way. Thanks Paul. (It must work, I recall seeing a Lund blow right past us a couple weeks ago )
  5. Not sure I left any muskies to be caught ... but good luck anyway.
  6. My neighbor picked this up at Walmart. A little cheaper than Stabill and 1 oz treats up to 16 gallons. Says it is good for all engines and for E-10 and E-15 blended fuels. Courios if anyone heard of this or uses it ?
  7. Same here. Just add a twister tail. Pike will hit just about anything.
  8. Something out of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"
  9. Sweet. Already a great feeling on a new PB. Still got some more room there to do it again. I seem to be stuck on 49" for mine .... one of these days.
  10. Hand her the card and say "SHOW ME"
  11. Doesn't seem all that long ago we hit 60 million. Will the counter handle 100 million ?
  12. I currently use 100# Flouro on my musky rods = 18"/24" in length. Of course, sometimes you can't keep the pike off the lures. I check the leader carefully after each catch to make sure there are no nicks or bite marks that could weaken it and cause the loss of a really nice fish. I used to use steel leaders, but after one fish, they can get bent up pretty bad. I also tried Titanium leaders as well, but they can get a bit pricey.
  13. I had purchased MapCreate for Canada some years back and made my own map of the entire area. All this gives me is the contours of the shorelines. No depths, no hazards, etc. I basically created this for my GPS unit for navigation. As I encounter a rock/shoal, I just mark it with a waypoint for future reference. If the OP is fishing the North Channel coming out of Green Bay, as mentioned before, you have rapids on both ends, so in a way, you're locked into that stretch. Can't really get lost or turned around.
  14. Congrats. 2 PB an hour apart don't happen too often. Lots of room left to keep raising the bar.
  15. We pulled out around 4:30am and got home around 3:30pm. 11 hours as expected. One little surpise coming home up on 69. Driving along and hear something hit the side of the truck. Patsy looked back and it looked like a crow that was along the road decided to take flight and smacked into the truck. Not a sound I like to hear ... stupid bird. No damage. Traffic was fine except when we crossed Hamilton Harbor on QEW. From there to our side of Niagara, it was pretty busy. For some reason, everyone likes the middle lane and quite often, don't even go the speed limit. But, it was a good trip home and it's good to sleep in an air conditioned bedroom. Hope you all have fun up there in August.
  16. Correct. It is pretty clear for the entire stretch. Coming out of Green bay, heading up, you have some rocks sticking up out of the water along the left, but they are easy to see. However, there are a few just under the water surrounding these. Just a wee bit past these rocks, on the opposite side is a pretty large shoal and it typically has a marker on it - but it covers a wide area I believe. I don't often go further than Ash Bay, up towards the rapids, but have a couple times. Not all that familiar with the water up there, buit as Chris suggests, don't get real close the shore line and you should be good. I actually have to launch my boat there at the public launch at Green Bay. The launch at Rainbow is just way too hairy for my boat - due to the width and length of the launch. Patsy landed a 49" last year and I boated a 49" and 45" - all within a 36 hour period in the North Channel last September.
  17. Well, we booked our annual trip to Lakair while we were there last year. Hoping for another great time with all the OFC'rs. As we approached our time, it looked like nobody would be able to make it this year. However, as we had our reservations, we were going anyway, but would be a lonely week. What a great surprise that Lew and Dian booked and were coming up and then Paul and Joey for several days. Dan said he would stop by for a day. So, we had us our own mini get-together and we had a great time. We made the 11 hour trip on Friday. By the time we unpacked, got settled in, we were quite tired. Set out for a bit of pike fishing near camp, but nothing was caught. We were really looking forward to Saturday as that was opening day of musky - and the arrival our our friends. Headed out Saturday am to the West Bays in hopes of latching into a nice Lakair Musky. All dead quiet that first morning other than the odd aggressive small pike. Headed back into camp around lunch time with Lew and Dian arriving. Paul and Joey arrived a short time later. Thus, starts the mini OFC GTG at Lakair this year. Sunday turned out to be a rain day with off and on rain, and a few down-pours along the way. Things were looking a bit nasty and we headed back to camp. Just coming past Tombstone island, she just let loose with a torrential downpour. So bad, we had to stop as I could not see where we were going. Not the kind of water to be messing/guessing with. Overall, we had great weather with the occassional late afternoon/evening thunderstorm mixed in. Wednesday and Thursday saw some pretty windy conditions and some nice rollers out in the bay. We fished in the morning and remained in camp the rest of those days. Spent many an afternoon over at Lew/Dian's cabin, just hanging out, chatting, and admiring the fantastic view up there. Thursday evening we dinner with Lew and Dian, which was a real treat. We were very happy to have the company of good friends for the week and catching up with, even for a brief period. We're already booked for the musky opener next year. Cabin 9 again. Ok, everyone wants a few pictures, so we'll see how this works out. New laptop and all. Still trying to figure this thing out. The old way of downloading pics onto the OFC media center kept giving me errors during the upload, so I switched over to a photobucket account. Here she goes. We'll start with some scenery shots I took. Such a beautiful part of Ontario. Shot from our cabin. Couple other shots: Sunday's rain storms: OFC'rs: Paul and Joey OFC'rs: Lew and Dian I guess this is why he is a boxer. Our "Mini" GTG: Alright .. Alright. Here's your fish pictures. A nice 45" musky: Patsy got a couple shots at the release: Ok. One final one. This one was caught Sunday am during all the rain. I actually hooked into two muskies that day, but one took a hard dive under the boat and I lost her. However, this nice 49" girl stopped in to say hello. The 49" went very well, throwing the hooks while inside the next and she took off right away after the release. That's it until our two week trip to the French River in September. Lakair 2013 - Here we come.
  18. Are you on what they call the North Channel of the French ??? We are at Rainbow Camp on the North Channel in September. One week at Wolseley Lodge and the second at Rainbow.
  19. Yeah. Lew was keeping the pike out of my way. (ha ha ha)
  20. Some great shots - but why the snake ? Glad you folks could come up for a while. For a while there, Patsy and I thought we'd be all alone - so we really appreciated the good friends. Too bad abount the camp fires, but we did have some heavy rain, but that didn't stop the fishing. Had dinner with Lew and Di this evening in their cabin and we've spent the last couple afternoons over there - enjoying the shade. One more day and we have to head home as well. Hope to put something up this week-end. Oh yeah - did you eat all your coke bottles yet ? We're already booked for next year for the musky opener. Hopefully we all can hook up again.
  21. Ya'll better hurry up. sure is nice up here.
  22. Oh man, that is one really sweet ride. You'll enjoy that one
  23. Let's see .... a). I doubt Lew would ever put such a fish in his boat. . Depending on when Paul/Joey arrive, they may be too late. c). Same for Dan. d). My odds are getting better and better ..... The more I think about it, I may just run over around Chris K's place on my way up and pick it up.
  24. And a better chance the trophy could make it's way across the border.
  25. Aw man ... you are torturing me. Great weekend eh ?
