What a year! Congratulations on a great year and a fantastic report. My favourites are the ones with dad at Buckhorn (I'm a cottage/family type guy). I hope that you are feeling better soon. Thanks for this. Jim

What a great year. I too always enjoy your and Sugarpacket's reports and photos. You are a lucky family. A family that plays together stays together. And a family that baits together, well, nevermind. Jim

Born in the booming metropolis of Mount Hope, Ontario. Then after 20 years in the manufacturing industry, a couple of college diplomas/certificates and then teacher's college, I got smart and moved to the booming metropolis of Caledonia! The small town that everyone moved to because it was a small town that thankfully will stay a small town (I think they should put that on the welcome sign). Jim

Looking for Opinions on Lowrance X510c Series Sonar
Radnine replied to TroutnMuskieHunter's topic in General Discussion
I don't really have an opinion on the sonar you mention, but your daughter sounds like a wonderful person -
A great report! Congrats on a productive year. But maybe your goal for next year should be to fix the docks at Lake Seymour Jim

Any guy with a Molson Golden belt buckle is alright by me (it says more about your style than the fish do). Welcome aboard. Jim

Just incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks for taking the time to post. Jim

God, that brings back memories. I too remember that from public school. I used to love that feeling when you would walk into the class and see the projector set up. It was like Christmas every time.

Hey Steve, What a great report. Thanks for it. Just how much time do you spend on the water (sorry if you mentioned it in the text of your report, I only buy this magazine for the photos!)? Ontario's loss is BC's gain. In Ontario there are about 1000 bass smiling to themselves. Safe travels. Jim

Congrats on what looked to be a fun and productive year. Thanks for the post. Jim

I am still laughing as I write this, even though I now have something else to think about Thanks to all for the advice and the kind wishes! Jim

Hi all, Has anyone had surgery to repair a small umbilical hernia? I am wondering about the recovery time. I have the surgery booked for the 18th of December, and am wondering if I will be on my back through Christmas (as My wife fears) or I’ll be up and merry in a few days. Thanks. Jim

What? A book with my thoughts! I smell a lawsuit. No, I have not read it, but thanks. Jim -

You are to the point that you can quit watching the calendar. You are a non-smoker. People that never smoked don't wake up saying "it's been 46 years, three months and ten days without a ciggy". They just get on with life. Forget the bloody things, they aren't a part of who you are anymore (much like your mullet, or ex-wife, or plaid bell-bottoms, etc). Congratulations! Jim -
Awesome fish! But even dogs know enough to get in out of the rain. Little wonder you are letting them de-index your pension! Seriously man they are nothing short of stunning. Care to let us in on the lure de-jour?

I can imagine sitting at the end of the dock in a Muskoka chair with a cup of coffee and cursing the kids with their jet-skis. And, telling everyone that will listen that the fishing is better off the end of my dock than any where else on the lake, Goddamnit! Hey, it could be worse. Jim

It seems that they "pre-load" to a point and play till that point, and then they stop and stay there. I have never been patient enough to find out if they will continue. I mean, I have waited some but not very long. The videos on the site mentioned (myoutdoortv.com) seem to be worse than most youtube videos (I have written them to see if it is anything on their end).

Hi All, I have a question about watching videos on-line. After watching one of the Saturday morning shows, I decided to check out myoutdoortv.com (one of the sponsors). It looks like a great site, but while watching one of the videos it kept stalling. It seems that some videos play right through with no worries while others stop every so often. The weird thing is that the ones that stop can be re-started by clicking on the little moving indicator, and then they seem to take right off and keep going. I have high-speed cable internet and an IBM ThinkPad for viewing. Any idea what gives? And can I do anything differently to watch videos uninterupted. Thanks Jim

Hi All, I am sure that this topic has been covered before, so please bear with me, but I am wondering about the vast fluctuation in rod prices. I am also wondering what features are worth having and which ones are complete luxuries. Note that I am asking the average fishing types that pay for their rods by posting here (as opposed to writing to Bob Izumi). I am also not trying to get people to justify why they bought what they did or paid what they did. I am just trying to figure out what makes a $300 rod a $300 rod (coming from a user of $60 rods). Thanks, Jim

Same. I converted this year. I like it. Jim
