  1. Congrats. Fish of a lifetime. I vote for fish of the year on this board.
  2. Whatever happend to "You can't go fishing without the net"? Just yankin, nice vid. Thanks for sharing it with us TJ.
  3. Yep, As you can tell, I'm of Polish heritage and absolutley love going to Kaszuby. Been there every year since I was a youngin with the family and hertcesze (sic?) (scouts). Dziękują i zwarty linie (thanks and tight lines), reefrunner
  4. Oh yeah, Stormy Lake....brain fart.
  5. Looks like a wonderful place. Never fished there but have in Kippawa, just North. Best Laker trip I ever experienced. They were taking minnows on gang trolls, lead core about 5 colours (or in your case colors, lol) off. Remember a Quebec fishing license would be required as I recall the conservation officers being very strict on that point as well as respecting regulations. The license is pricey to out of province residents.
  6. Good luck. There is a small river/creek that connects Restoule to Rainy Lake. It is very shallow with a strong current so be careful. Beautiful country up there. Hope the racoons are behaved. Last time I went they were pretty fearless and didn't mind shuffling through our wares, lol.
  7. Best of luck Rickster, hopefully the weather holds out for ya!
  8. Amazing report dude. Not only were the pics great, but your description of the general area and hospitable diners are amazing and handy for my next trip that way. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. Looks like an amazing time in an equally amazing place.
  9. Thanks AC, This is the place I rented from years ago, I can remeber the OMC delaer now that I looked at the link. I'll give 'em a call. I used to summer there annually as well. Beautiful country up there! Thanks again, reefrunner
  10. Congrats on the successful weight loss regimine. It is an amazing feat. Stick with it bud and giving up the smokes should soon follow.
  11. Hello all, Taking a camping trip to my old childhood summer stomping grounds on Wadsworth Lake near Barry's Bay at the end of the month. As the quality of fishing on this lake has declined in recent years (btw mikeymike, how'd you do?), I was considering renting a boat for the day on the Madawaska River. Preferably, I would like to rent a boat closer to Combremere as I'm more familiar with that stretch of river, plus renting a boat in Barry's Bay means facing the big water of Kaminiskeg in a small rental. I recall renting from a Marina years back but cannot find a listing. Any one know of an affordable and quality boat rental outfitter in the general area? Thank you all who reply, reefrunner
  12. So far this year, I've fished alot less. But its not the weather, hmmnnn...maybe different kind of whether "Wonderin whether you'd be available to come by this weeknd and help me..."
  13. Thanks gone fishin! Next time out I'll hunt for some crawdads
  14. Tubes, white with silver flake. I always wanted to try crayfish, how do you rig it up? what's the best size?
  15. Next time introduce her to the bottom of your sneakers Coach! Geez, yalls gots to be careful when playin in the yard.
  16. Awsome report JohnnyB! You certainly covered alot during your week, wow. I second in giving Canal another try
  17. I got a friend in the wind farming industry and, yes, migratory birds are an issue. Tapping into the grid even tougher. Our energy market is run like a cartel. Government contracts and bids for sites go mostly to the big energy companies.
  18. Good times for sure JWL. Nice fish and great photos.
  19. You can try your luck at the mouth of the Credit (Lakeshore and ?, by the bridge). Float and bottom rig a worm for small cats. There's free parking available just North by the park and a parking lot just South of the bridge.
  20. I was sold on the short walk, lol.
  21. Registered and signed the petition. OFC members, please take the time to become knowledgable on the forthcoming assault on our waterways. If you so choose, kindly fill out the petition and/or send a letter to your MP. Thanks for keeping us updated Verminator!
  22. You could, but every hit and fish on will tear your senko and you'll go through a bag in no time. It'll save you senkos and $ in the long run.
  23. Very nice pics and a great report. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! Good "metal" face, lol.
  24. All good remarks here so far. As you are using natural colours and it may be tough to visually follow the bait to the bottom, I would suggest leaving a little bow in your line on the drop. This will allow you to see when the bait hits bottom or a twitch or change of direction in the line indicates a strike from a fish. Small bass nibble, big ones take it sideways from my experience. Good luck out there!
  25. learn something new every post. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. P.S. That rod bends so much I'd be scared to hook up with my on the backcast, lol. Nice fishies
