  1. Looking good Pete!
  2. Hey Joe, This happens quite often at work and it's usually the ignition wiring harness corroded; different makes and models. On some of the trucks adjusting the tilt steering will get you going; on others, a good slam with your forearms on the steering wheel will jar it into submission. I know it's not a fix but it could help you in a bind. -Brian
  3. Pokerface? It looks like you just ate a bug at 40mph! Congrats on your fist 'ski and thanks for the report & pic's!
  4. I love Bert's tracks; currently running (2)36" and (2)24" tracks with Bert's downrigger swivels and S-17 Salty's. They have a ton of accessories available. They're ratcheting rod holders are incredible and are now available in plastic at half the price. I can't vouch for the plastic ones as I haven't tried them yet. The planer mast is nice and it was a toss up for me between Bert's and Riviera. I opted for the Riviera 7" telescoping mast but if it wasn't on sale, I would have went Bert's. There are a few manufacturers in this format; Bert's, Traxstech and now Cannon
  5. It's broken, I'll give you $100 for it. Which 'ducer do you have for it? single freq 200k or dual freq 50/200k? If you have the dual and are running on 200k, no arches isn't surprising. The cone angle is so narrow a fish swimming through the cone may just leave a blip on screen. Make sure you have the latest software updates and give the jig a try. If you can make your way to Woodstock sometime, Jos at Angling Outfitters can update and set it up for you.
  6. What a report! We all dream of days like that.
  7. No need for arm stretching with a fish that big, what a tank! FB page is hilarious. I'll bet Jay thinks twice before trash talkin' in print again! Sorry about your 3.5lber; seems a little insignificant in the same thread!! LOL!
  8. LMAO!!!! Good read!
  9. Nice results Emil! Thanks for posting!
  10. The fishing industry like none other that come to mind can withstand the monopoly. We could all get off brand name goods and buy from local producers. I'm just not ready to give up my Shimano reels. Think for a moment how many people we know just on OFC that produce tackle!
  11. LOL!!! Great intro and looking forward to some reports! -Brian
  12. I use Ryobi and have been happy with them. My only gripe is trying to find a bulb for the flashlight. I especially like the One+ 18v system. They decided on a design and haven't superceded it. My 18v tools/batts from 6+ years ago interchange with todays offerings. I considered rebuilding some Ryobi batteries but bought new ones instead, 2 for $55. They're not Rigid, DeWalt, Milwaukie, Makita quality but for homeowners... money well spent.

    WFN

You beat me to it JP. What John was suggesting pretty much describes your show. WFN's re-roll gets tedious and there are some shows out there that just kill me. When they do, I watch something else.
  14. Your best bet would be to moor it at a marina - cheaper than buying another vehicle. Not to beat a dead horse, but... Too many people are fixated with having enough power to get up to speed or traction for pulling a boat up a launch ramp. Passenger cars, truck and vans are designed with 75-90% of their braking power on the front axle under normal conditions. When you add tongue weight to your vehicle, it drastically reduces braking efficiency and steering control. Add a morning dew or a gravel road to the mix and you're asking for big problems. You can lighten your tongue weight by shifting axles or shifting the boat but you're still faced with the tow vehicle stopping the load. Asking a 2000lb car to stop a 5000lb boat in the best of conditions is a lot to ask. The answer, trailer brakes? (addressing those suggesting trailer brakes will solve your problems) Why not have your trailer do most of the braking for you? When you apply the brakes on the trailer, the tongue dives and will lift your tow vehicle's front axle, thus no braking and poor steering.
  15. Great report Clive! The family and I are planning a 'down east' vacation; I may have to bring the boat with me! Brian
  16. Outstanding! Some of the best photos I've seen this year. I hope you do this trip again; I wanna see more!
  17. Suck it up and get off the EI!! Okay, sounds harsh but you'll find better opportunities from the inside looking out rather than the outside looking in. You may not want to use him for a reference in the future but at least you'll be taking home better money.
  18. That sonar shot looks like the lower Grand River... except there; it's bolts, anchors, tires, Christmas lights etc. Nice job guys!
  19. The 5200 needs 7 days to cure depending on environment. The 4000 cures much faster... maybe 48 hrs? The 5200 seems to be more fluid. This might help or hurt you depending on the surface angle. If flat, it may seep into the gaps. On the other hand, it may flow away from the gaps depending on the angle.
  20. I love 'em all but my favourite is... Superman wears Chuck Norris pyjamas.
  21. I love 209 & 309's. Silky smooth drag, large capacity, great clickers and bulletproof. The downside is slow retrieve rate. If you're buying new, have a look at the 209LC - linecounter. The benefit of a linecounter plus a slightly better gear ratio.
  22. Oh man!!! That's a bummer! Get well soon Ryan.
  23. For those that like to cram your boat full of gear for travel or just want to set up you bunks and axles for proper weight distribution. Tongue weight indicator
  24. I wanted to see you too, Mike Working nights, I force myself to go to bed and try to wake up for 4AM. Normally I'm not getting to bed until at least that time. My usual pre-fishing sleep is normally an exercise of tossing and turning and the best I can hope for is a nap! Eight minutes late is pretty good considering I drove 100 miles and stopped for a coffee for Captain Rob and I. I stopped by Dan's on the way home to say goodbye but you weren't there. I had saved up a ton of quality insults, I'll make up for it next time. -Brian
  25. Eight minutes late. Had I known you wanted to see me so bad, I wouldn't have come! And why are you so focused on my legs?
