Thanks for the replies... I figured by posting "Antique" I'd get a lot of interest but I didn't think 10+ in the first hour! I have one guy from Thunder Bay VERY interested. I didn't want to eBay it but not a bad idea given the action on this thing. Might consider that. No info on it other than it came from my Mother that got it from her Mother.

So, I'm reading this article in Great Lakes Angler (May 09) and they discuss fishing 250'+ for salmon. That's where the big ones tend to be. I've never fished deeper than say 120' or so and my riggers only have 200' of cable. This summer I would like to experiment fishing deep in the BZ and I will probably run Torpedo Divers off the downriggers - or- as mentioned in another article featuring Torpedo's, "shirt buttoning' them on the same line. In other words, max out depth on the first Torpedo, add another, add another etc. The articles I'm referring to are on pages 8 & 25 of this months GLA Anybody have any deep sea fishing experiences from the 'Blue Zone'? Is it worth the effort? These guys are fishing Lake Michigan but I suspect Lake O salmon lurk deep too.

You've probably fouled your new plug. I usually leave last season's plug in for initial start up. As Wayne mentioned, ensure the safety switch is in. Leave the choke out until it runs, keep the throttle in the start position. When it gets going, it will rev up. Back the throttle to the idle position. When it begins to stumble, push the choke in. Since you've tried the full throttle thing, remove the plug and clean it. If it seems fine, you might have a fuel delivery issue. If it's soaked, you're flooded. While you're cleaning the cylinder can air-out a bit. Try it again, choke out in start position.

If nothing else, get auto pilot Mike. PowerDrive or Terrova (nicer deployment on Terrova) 80lbs will run great, hook 'em in serial.

I use Daiwa Heartland dipsy rods for trolling, no issues. At $35 each and double as a salmon/trout dipsy rod, I certainly get my monies worth. I use Shimano Tekota 600 linecounters and Penn 209's with them. As Raf stated, linecounters aren't a huge benefit but can be handy. Since you're not generally trolling huge depths, the margin for error is smaller than if you were trying to get a dipsy down 80-100 feet or so. I use a Riviera 7' planer mast and triple boards for trolling. Inlines are also very popular but I can't offer any recommendations.

I don't see that being any cheaper than re-skinning with plywood once you factor in labour and downtime. They might have issues with the coating as well. Thanks for the thought though! They'd enjoy that too much - twisted bunch.

No fiberglass allowed other wise we'd use FRP vans. No metel rub rails either It's like a moving target with this customer! Last night I delivered a rush load *hot hot hot*. They refused it, I was too early. I think another option might be body filler - they'll accept that. It's not quite as handy as whipping out a roll of tape on-the-spot but if maintenance could incorperate that into their PM schedule, we could update the fleet rather quickly. There's a lot of gravy in this contract so I can see why they're putting up with the fuss, just have to get through the growing pains. I might end up doing the pickup in Ohio (Bowling Green) myself rather than just the Windsor - Toronto delivery leg. Meet for coffee? LOL Thanks for the links. -Brian

The purpose is to smooth out the interior walls of a trailer. Interior walls are plywood and scuffs/gouges/fist holes leave rough edges. We've had several trailers rejected for interior damage while loading full trailer width skids. The litmus test is wiping down interior walls with a piece of foam. If the foam catches, the trailer is rejected. I remember using a vinyl tape years ago, about 3mm x 12", extremely durable and would probably stick to butter. That's what I'm looking for. Gerritt, the tape we're using now is similar to dynamat but it's tar instead of butyl. Ohiofisherman got it right, it's intended for roof skins. Btw, brown bread is better and cheaper than dynamat!

I need to find a source for, lack of a better name, speed tape. Currently we're using a tar based adhesive with aluminium skin but it's not cost effective for the purpose in mind. I'm looking for a durable vinyl tape with super adhesion in a wide roll... preferably 6". Product names and where to buy? Thanks in advance! -Brian
