  1. I don't care where we go as long as it's a short ride to the fish!
  2. Wow, very sensitive to voltage drop!
  3. December 15 for muskie. See you there Joe!
  4. Keep in mind, this foam will not meet coast guard standards for floatation and should not be used to replace existing floatation foam.
  5. Yep, that's about right. My 1/4" 2x2 angle was $80+ each for 20ft lengths, flat bar was $60 ea. You don't even want to know what I paid for the 3/16" sheets. And I got a deal compared to what MS was asking! When I decide to sell my boat, somebody is gonna get a heckuva deal! LOL!
  6. It would be a lot less effort to just buy Gerritt's boat! MS, sadly, is about the cheapest in town. Ask about off-cuts and don't settle for thier first quote. Better prices if you go in person.
  7. Marine ply in London? Good luck, nobody stocks it. Try Jim, at Heritage Marine, he can order it for you. It doesn't appear you had floatation foam in the hull so no need to worry about that. In fact, the plywood will offset the extra weight in floatation. What are the tubes for? Can they be used for underbracing?
  8. Marine Ply is the way to go.... $125 for a sheet of 3/4" at Hamilton Plywood (Stoney Creek). I have a sheet in my garage if you want to weigh it. Marine ply is signicantly lighter than regular ply and probably half the weight of pressure treated. Aluminum is not as light as you think. I'm doing my floor with 3/16" sheet and need 1/4" underbracing to avaoid deflection. The boat originally had 1/2" ply and felt sturdy. If you want to lose weight, try Jenny Craig - or- 1/2" marine ply. Does your boat have floatation foam? I removed and replaced about 200 lbs of soaked foam in mine. It was costly to replace but it will be a huge weight savings. The new foam will benefit you in weight savings and provide a study base for your flooring. A 2-part pour kit (1gal part A & 1gal part B ) will cost about $140 at Heritage Marine in London. One kit did one side of my 18' deep V.
  9. Put me down for Steve (for tackle and rods) and Jocelyn (reels and accessories). I know it's been a while guys; I miss you! Pretty soon the boat will be done and I'll be back in the stores with some frequency.
  10. Joe Mercurio - Boca Grand Tarpon JP DeRose - Erie Bass Pete Bowman - Fraser River Sturgeon A lot of other likeable hosts out there... Scott Martin, Kelly Jordan, Dave Mercer, Charlie Wray, Jim Saric etc. For every one I'd like to fish with, there must be ten others I wouldn't want to be trapped in a boat with!!!
  11. Nice post! Geez, I wish I had fish like that in my backyard!
  12. Cancer schmancer, what about us bald guys? I would have given anything for that hair!!!! Great report and congrat's to Sydney on her PB. Best of all, congrats to Syd for making you proud parents!
  13. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy a few trips like that. Now, it's off to bed so I can enjoy another one!
  14. The kids are going to want to camp at the launch ramp next year instead of going up north!
  15. Thanks Emil, I should have went with you today!! I would have been way ahead of shecule with my boat floor if I didn't decide to replace the floatation foam. You probably won't need to in your basement. You should re-think the laminate flooring, my aluminium floor is looking pretty good! I'm doing the tricky bow cuts now; I have to get it right the first time. -Brian
  16. Good job Emil! Your basement renovation might be done before my boat renovation!
  17. Big deal, let's see him do that in a kayak!
  18. I don't have data to back it up but just guessing, I would have to say that in my time fishing LSC boards have taken 2 fish (at least) for every 1 at boat side. I don't think it's because these fish are skiddish; you're just covering more water and putting the odds in your favour.
  19. Reminds me of a joke... Q- How many flies does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A- Two, but don't ask me how they got in there!
  20. 14 to suggest going to see Jos in Woodstock for a better deal on a lightbulb. 9 to suggest you can get it cheaper online. 16 saying we should support our local lightbulb stores.
  21. I never thought of putting wheels on my muskie tackle box... great idea! I think they're neat, along with the larger Scion and Element.
  22. I only read the thread that was closed... shame it went the way it did. As for picking on grammer and punctuation; grow up. English may be his second language and his typing is still on par or better than most. I'd have him out the boat and probably learn a few things.
  23. I would have him throw it in but not install it; save it for a bow mounted sonar or sell it. Pick the unit you want and install it yourself. That way you get to drill where you want to. So many of these installs are without serious thought. Example; why drill through the transom into plywood below the waterline if you don't have to? You will also get to decide where the head unit is going to live. You may want to mount a Ram or Johnny Ray quick release for the head unit now and only have to drill those holes. When/if you upgrade sonar, you don't have to drill new holes.
  24. The tide came in? And I thought I had a bad weekend spending $1000 on my Tahoe only to have the diff blow on Monday... spent another $5000 on another vehicle today. I hope the damage is minimal and glad you were prepared. Need any full size chevy parts? LOL -Brian
  25. Well done Mike! What a nice way to cap off the vacation! -Brian
