  1. Asian Carp This is when people want to play with nature and introduce one species to combat another species, and in turn it ruined the whole ecosystem. Just like the cane toad was introduced into Australia to combat French's Cane Beetle and the Greyback Cane Beetle. Eventually, the toad multiplied like mad and killed tons of the predators because of their poison on their skin.
  2. All the panfish and carp are on season right now. This weekend will be sunny, so I will suggest you fish a little deeper.
  3. I agreed with you kennyman. I actually think get him jail a short period of time (a taste behind bars), then a huge fine (into conservation), plus community work. Jailing him for 2 years is a waste of tax payer's money. For sure he'll never have any sponsor ever.
  4. Any day out fishing is a good day Thanks for the photo and report~! I was planning on going to Centre Island myself today, but I need to fix my backyard and cancel my "trip". Planning on going next week though
  5. These guys wasted so much gas just to chase one single stingray, and the way he handle the spear gun is kinda.....................
  6. Golden Beach Resort in Rice Lake should be good for you. It's located 1.5 hours drive from Toronto. Golden Beach Resort
  7. Have fish or no fish it's still a wonderful report. Helping a stranded pilot is something that don't usually happen And helping people makes you feel good.
  8. Now I know why people in the States love to fish pre-spawn bass. I still feel bad because this is the time when they start to search for good spawning area and build up another lbs reserve before the real spawning begin.
  9. Wonderful reports and photo~!
  10. We need more MNR officers period~! For the past year or so, they seems to be disappearing. I remember they were quite a common sight several years ago.
  11. You should be able to see them now, photobucket kept on giving me this red X even when I have unlimited bandwidth....
  12. Wow that's some big Stripers~! Thanks for the report~!
  13. Thanks for the report~! Wonderful photo
  14. Except for boats running over my float, everything was excellent~! I have a feeling that it's gonna be another wonderful season for Rice this year
  15. Oh i forgot to say, one of the Crappie actually attacked my float as if it's eating some giant juicy bug on the surface of the water..
  16. All Crappies were found at around 8+ feet of water. Hope this will help you chase them
  17. My dad, my brother, and I arrived at 797-BOAT Rental in Bewdley at around 645am. After we got our boat, we head to the spot where we had some luck last year. We were lucky to be one of the first boat on the lake, therefore we were able to drift around to locat the Crappie. After drifting for like 20 minutes, we managed to locat them. The bite weren't that frequent, for the first 2 hours, we were able to catch 20 of them. The size were from 8 inches to 12 inches. My dad caught 4 Largemouth at the same location. At around 9, people started to show up, boats didn't really care if you were fishing, they just drove a couple feet away from our float. After that the fish disappeared. We kept casting until 12, and we finally decided to leave the now extremely crowded area, and head to another location. There were no boat around, except one which was pretty far away. Once again we drifted, and after 5 minutes we found yet another school of Crappie. This time they were in feeding frenzy, Crappie after Crappie; we had many double headers, and one almost triple headers. The size were from 6 to 12 inches. Caught around 15 Largemouth (kinda feel bad about the bass being caught at spawning season). After an hour of boat free time, boats started to rush onto the spot where we were fishing, once again, they drove right on top of our float, and the fish disappeared. At around 2, we decided to head home, our arms and backs were sore from all the hook sets. Today is by far one of the best Panfish season open. We were using Pink/White tube, as well as minnow like bait. We are looking forward to a wonderful 2007 season. The beauty of the early morning Rice Lake The Canadian Goose are heading back home First fish from Rice Lake in 2007 The first Crappie (target fish of the day) of 2007 A little Perch ]
  18. Today I had a little spare time, so I head up to Cook's Bay with my dad for some pre Rice Lake open warm up. Arrived there at around 1145, there were already 20 people lining up along the canal. The fish were on and off, didn't catch any Crappies though, one of the guy beside me caught around 20+ baby size Crappies, too bad he didn't let them go... He's the only one who managed to catch that many Crappie. From time to time we managed to catch some small Sunfish. Right before we called it a day, my dad hooked up a 15 inches Pike. I'd say it's a great way to end the day. Now I am at home get prepare for tomorrow's season open for Rice Lake. One of the tiny Sunfish we caught today. The poor thing fell off my hand as I tried to turn on my camera. Here's the 15 inches Pike
  19. I will suggest you to go to Golden Beach Resort http://www.goldenbeachresort.com. They have an area for you to setup tents, restaurants, as well as boat rental. or You can try Serpent Mounds Park http://www.serpentmoundspark.com. This place is for more serious camping people, no boat rental though.

  22. Big fat yummy Perch~! Thanks for the report~!
  23. I have food allergies as well, but mainly allergic to MSG (monosodium glutamate). When I went to the specialist to test my allergies, it's so funny that almost all the food they tested on me had some sort of reaction. Right now I'm the portable MSG tester, whenever my family and I went out for a meal, if I had MSG allergic reaction, we would mark it down and never went to that restaurant again
  24. This friday night will be like new year's eve for me From the weather network, Saturday will be a lovely day, which means crowded on shore and on the lake~!
  25. Nice report and photo~! 400 Crappie in 2 days?! Man I've never caught 400 Crappie in my life
