  1. Great news~! Something to look forward to
  2. Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary. My condolence to you and your families about your grandfather. Time to celebrate his life~!
  3. Come to think of it, it is kind of slow today.
  4. Weedman, I agreed with you saying good fishing before the storm. But my experience told me, it's only good when there's structure(a small canal doesn't have much structure so they all move out to the lake). Two years ago I was fishing in Orillia during thunderstorm watch, it was raining like crazy and windy. From time to time, there were period of calm (no rain or wind), that's when the Pike striked. Cast after cast Pike were hitting like crazy. Last year I caught my 9lbs Walleye from Rice Lake during a storm. Still both location have structure/weedbeds. Btw, where did you catch those 12inches Rock Bass? dsn, that's some funny experience with sun on one side, and thick rain cloud on the other. But nothing was crazier than watching the dark wall of rain coming towards you while the sun is shining behind you.
  5. I wanna use a piece of dead leave on the ground, but as I wrote on it, it crumbled.... so the next best choice was my hand
  6. love fishin, I was fishing near Keswick up at Cook's Bay.
  7. That's some awsome photo~! Thanks~!
  8. I arrived at the fishing spot at around 130 this afternoon, the place wasn't too crowded. Since the storm front was approaching, I knew that the fishing will be slow. 30 minutes after I arrived, I was able to catch a 10 inches Rockbass, it was one of the biggest Rockbass I've ever caught. From time to time, small Sunfish were bitting on my tube. 30 minutes passed again, and suddenly my float sank, I set the hook and it was heavy, it fight like a bass. As I landed it, it was a 11 inches Rockbass. This time it's the biggest I've caught ever. Another angler who was watching behind me also surprise to see the size of it. He said he has never seen one this big before in the area. Not much action for other anglers, they were able to catch odd couple of baby Crappies, baby Bass, baby Sunfish. After a total of two hours of fishing, I called it a day as the storm was getting close. 2 minutes after I was in the car, the rain started~! Here's 10 inches Rockbass Here's 11 inches Rockbass
  9. No matter what, let it go. Let the nature do its job.
  10. With my brother's help, 30 perch took us 1 hour to filet (skinned). We were still trying to figure out how to make this process faster.
  11. I think 98Fahrenheit is referring people from China as "Mainlander".
  12. If I were there when they kept the bass, I would go back to my car, get a Regulation booklet, turned to the page that shows season open for the division, put my hand into their bucket grab the bass and threw them back ><
  13. Thanks for the report Nice photo as well I've never caught a Bowfin before, but I think sometimes those chinese supermarket sell them.
  14. Could he just stop sliding the poor muskie on the boat deck like mopping floor.....Any kind of fish should be slided like that ><
  15. That place is so crowded that when you look sideway along the shore (parallel to shore), you can actually see some artistic like action as people casting their line one at a time. I was really lucky to find a spot and with anglers who respect each other's space beside me.
  16. That is one of the best looking ribs ever~! Even tho I just had my dinner, I still wanna eat them NOW~! ><
  17. Can't wait to try my first Carp ><
  18. I went to Cook's Bay at around 7am this morning. It was already crowded with people, I was lucky to find a place to fish. The fishing was kind of slow, but I met another fine angler who always fish in Rice Lake (he couldn't wait 1 more week so he came to calm his itching fingers). We were sharing our fishing experience, and from time to time, we hooked into some Crappies and some big Sunfish. As we were talking and fishing, we saw three huge Pikes cruising along the shore, they were spawning~! Omg it was a lovely sight~! I was lucky to have three nice size Crappies (10+ inches well compare to the normal 5-6 inches they were already jumbo in that area), one of them were badly bitten and we guess that Crappie had a nasty encounter with the Pike we saw earlier. As time passed, we could actually figure out when the next school of fish were coming. All we needed were to look to our right hand side (Canel exit to Cook's Bay), as people started to hook onto the fish, we got our rod and lines ready Overall we caught around 20+ fish (Crappie, Sunfish, and one Rockbass) threw the small ones back and kept the other for lunch. A day of fine weather, nice fishing, and nice chat with other people who love to fish........what a wonderful day~! btw no Perch were caught.... I guess they all went up to Orillia for the Perch Festival
  19. What a beautiful kitty cat~! I think my mouth would be like "cat" in the last picture WIDE open~!
  20. Closed in 2009?! God can people keep their trash to themselves?! Very soon there will be no shore fishing spot at all anywhere within 3 hrs of Toronto if people keep leaving their trash.
  21. It seems that the weather pattern has shifted. Remember we were having fall like weather in December and early January? I guess the good old winter is going to stay until it serve enough of its time here with us.
  22. As usual it's crowded in both location. I went there several days ago and same thing, the biggest crappie people caught were no bigger than 6 inches. Even with the bad weather and a weekdays, those area are always packed.
  23. Before you buy any item from an E-bay seller, see if they have tons of +ve feedbacks. "Usually" the seller is "trustworthy" if they have 1000+ +ve feedbacks. Go ask the seller questions about the item you want to buy/bid, be sure to ask about the price on shipping. I've bought items from E-bay(nothing more than $50), overall my experience is around 95% positive.
  24. Use Jerkbaits, retrieve in slow to medium speed with jerking motion, let it sit still from time to time (when the jerkbait starts to move again, that's when they usually hit). Try and find weedlines through out Rice Lake at a depth of 8 feet.
  25. Nope Spring is not here yet since we are going to have a major bucket of snow coming for the next couple of days ><
