  1. Thursday I'll have to drive my sister to Humber River Regional Hospital (400 & Finch) at around 1pm, and I have to wait there and pick her up at 5pm. Do you guys have any suggestions on where I can fish while waiting for my sister? I thanks you all in advance
  2. I'm really sadden by this news. I was all excited as bass season getting close... I really hope everything will go well soon.
  3. If you are going to fish there, I would suggest you wear shoulder pad, knee pad, elbow pad etc... it will be crowded, especially during weekends.
  4. Kawartha Panfish opening for 2007 will be last saturday of April (April 28, 2007).
  5. My goal for this year's season is to be able to catch some carp.... My fingers are itching again ahh
  6. I remember there was a fishing show(forgot if it's Bob Izumi or another show) last year saying it taste good after you only use the white part of the flesh (cut off everything darker than white under the skin) and fried them. I'm not sure if the host is pretending or not, but he seems to be enjoying them. Chinese people do like them, you can see carp sold in Chinese supermarket.
  7. Tube tv as a computer monitor is not recommended because you won't be able to see things posted in OFC clearly And if your computer has a video out, then basically you'll need to buy another tv card for it.
  8. Nice pike~! One thing for sure in the world of fishing~ just keep trying and you'll for sure catch~! Nice report I wish I had the same result as you today
  9. 10 lbs goby?! Did he mean total weight of gobies he caught that day? 10 lbs of one single fish = heavier than the heaviest fish I've ever caught in Canada LOL.
  10. Nope, nothing At least I went out and had some morning fresh air
  11. Thank for the report and lovely photo. I really should learn how to fish for them~! I went to downtown Toronto in the morning and it was iced up LOL
  12. The problem right now is night time is below zero. Even in downtown Toronto, there are thin sheet of ice in the morning. Hopefully the rain that's coming on Sunday will be able to melt most of them. But from the long range forcast temperature is going to fall again.... Hopefully the weather forcast is wrong as usual I'd say give the water at least a week, probably two weeks. Here is a pic of my jerkbait laying on a the thin sheet of ice this morning in downtown Toronto.
  13. Went up to the Cook's Bay area today and tried to find out the ice condition Here are some of the photo I've taken. As you can see there are still some ice. About a foot of water on top of thick ice in the shades, very thin ice where there are sunshine. Thin ice over Cook's Bay channels Thin ice over Holland River A yummy frozen dead carp~ I wish it was alive so I can catch it >< Ahh all these ice >< I need to be patience until the ice melt~!
  14. Taking off season fish is bad enough, and he actually tried to hide them means he knew about it. I thought it's the MNR officers' job to fine the poacher and sieze his fishing gears at least. At least that's what the officer did early spring last year when a couple of guys fished without a license from shore. The officer walked to the fishing spot, checked everyone's license (including myself). He actually took all their gears away into his truck. I guess when someone didn't pay for the license, they will sieze their gears. As for the poacher, I guess since the guy didn't owe MNR any $$ so the officer let him go with a fine only, then the guy can poach again and get caught again (probably that's how they get their funding).....
  15. This happened to my pro on Rice Lake 2005. We were fishing all morning in his pre fished point with no luck. Then he decided to move to the Otonabee River, in no time we caught our limit + some more. At the end, we were top in the 1st day of the tournment. But on the 2nd day, he went back to the river but it seems that fish were gone. Same thing happened on my 2nd day Belleville, my pro went to a spot where he caught 30+ bass on his 1st day; as we went to the same spot on the 2nd day, there wasn't even a bite. Different pros have different way to fish their tournment, that's when we can learn different types of fishing style
  16. I usually fish from shore in Rice Lake during autumn. Berkley's Frenzy Firestick, Frenzy Diver all work well.
  17. True, not all of the pros fish as well as the top famous pros. But you'll be able to learn alot not only from the pro you fish with, but everyone that fish in the tournment, talk to them, share techniques. One thing for sure, I was very lucky to be able to fish with top pros like JP, Mike Desforges, etc. There were also an AM that paired with Dave Mercer for both days of fishing. Just try and enjoy the event
  18. Here is the registration form. Registration Form for CFT Super Series
  19. Wind speed and moon phase are all important for walleye shore fishing. A night with no wind but full moon means walleyes are not coming into the shallow, the moon light is bright enough for them to fill up their tummy in deeper water.
  20. ROFL~! I can't believe I watched the whole thing LOL~! It's hilarious~!
  21. I'm sure that pike eventually swallow that trout. Always use big lure for big fish I've caught a sunfish with a big spinnerbait, a crappie with a jerkbait an inch longer than it.
  22. You will expect excitment, fun, wind blowing at your face 60 mph as the bass boat that you are one flying on top of the water (hang on tight). Bring enough water, expect very early day during the tournment, do not leave immediately after your weight in (you'll be on stage with your pro during weight in) talk to your next day pro about where and when to meet, where and how he/she is going to fish, so you can prepare your tackle as well. If you don't have the necessary gears, they will for sure let you use theirs. Bring some snacks with you, you'll need all the energy. ONE THING IMPORTANT~! When you are in their bass boat, you are there to assist the pro as much as possible, which include netting the fish, turn on or off the live well pump, sometimes set way point on GPS, etc. DO NOT eat anything that will upset your stomach before your tournament!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most important~ Learn and have fun~! Here are some pic that I took during 2006 Super Series just to give you an idea
  23. Yes, I've been fishing in CFT Super Series as an AM for 2 years. If time permitted, I'll go for 3 of the 4 events. First of all, you'll be able to learn years worth of fishing experience from the Pros that you fish with; second, it's fun, meeting other anglers (pros or ams); third, you'll totally get hooked after you tried it out. Only thing you need to be careful is to try and book a hotel/motel room in advance (or stay with your friends) those rooms will be filled up very fast. Be there earlier on the registration day, after you get the name of the pros you are going to fish with, look for them and ask when to meet, cellphone number etc so that you guys can communicate just in case you get lost and can't find him/her. I was able to fish with some of the best anglers like Mike Desforges, JP DeRose, Les Zancy, Scott Palmer, Paul Climpson etc. If you have any question, feel free to ask
  24. My idea of Angling Code of Ethics doesn't mean that we should put down a "Law" to force people to follow. But like Code of Ethics of programming or Code of Ethics of medical doctor in which all try their best to follow and help spread the words about being a better Angler. I've also seen many wonder Anglers who politely asked if it's ok for him/her to fish beside me.
  25. LOL~ Too bad "Mythbusters" didn't test this out while they were trying to bust the myth of other ways to beat the breathalyzer~! LOL
