  2. Oooo Old Port Montreal~ I was in Montreal for 5 years and never had a chance to fish there. 5 Perch and 2 Walleye is really some good fishing trip especially in January and around Montreal~! Thx for your report
  3. Keep on trying and reading OFC is the only way to break any fishing curse
  4. I've never fished in Credit River before, is there anything I need to know before heading to the area? After today's downtown fishing, I'm totally wanna try out some more places before the real ice coming down to us

  8. Finally went for some fishing today. When we arrived, several people were already fishing. They all said no fish all day. We tried and same result as they had. At least we were able to see a "dying" Drum slowly cruising in circle close to shore. Shoreline wild life is also a wonderful scene in a warm January ice free day Ahhhhh that really cured my itching fingers~!!!!!
  9. We have decided to go fishing tomorrow rather than today. Partly because of the wet weather (suppose to be over by now that's why I never fully trust weather network). But tomorrow looks kind of cold~ but still it's January soft water fishing
  10. Thank you both for the tips I'll try to fish at the waterfront tomorrow then Even if there's no fish, it's already something special fishing soft water in Canadian January~!
  11. My bro, my father, and I am going to Toronto Downtown for some rare January fishing. Anyone went there today with +11c temperature? How was the fishing? We are still thinking if we should just stick around the lake front or head to Toronto Island Any suggestion?
  12. I went to San Francisco for my X'mas Holiday and had a chance to fish Sturgeon. As you all you, we don't have much chance fishing Sturgeon in Ontario, so I'd say this trip is some what special. We arrived at the Marina at around 7am in Pittsburg (40mins from downtown San Francisco) Our captain is Captain Kevin Yost who pilot Lucky Strike. The weather of the day was sunny with cloudy periods. Wind was strong at 20 to 30 mph, water temperature was 45F (the temperature shown on the fishing radar was 10F off). From the fish radar, the Sturgeons were at depths from 50 to 60 feet. The bait we used were Salmon RoE and Eel and here is a photo of our gear setting (65lbs test line) After 5 hours of waiting, we managed to land a 47 inches 30lbs Sturgeon. The fight was very short due to the cold front and the cold water. This was the only fish that we've caught, and it's also the only fish caught that day within the delta area. Overall, it was a fun and memoriable experience since I've never fished Sturgeon before. Click here for the video that we took when we landed that sturgeon.
  13. I'm thinking to head down to Toronto downtown for some fishing with my dad and/or my bro. Still thinking i we should just head to Ward's Island or just hangout right at the waterfront and fish beside those docks Now all depends on if they are free or not
  14. I wish you all Merry Christmas~! Happy New Year~! Wonderful Holidays~! Countless Wonderful Fishing Trips in the up coming 2007~! As for me, I'm heading to San Francisco tomorrow... My uncle has already booked a boat for some San Francisco Bay fishing (but the weather doesn't look so good, therefore it might be cancelled... finger crossing)
  15. Never knew a small crappie would go for a jerkbait like that Baby bass that ate anything~!
  16. Most of the resorts around Rice Lake are good for family vacation. As you said you don't really kids around, it will be hard for cottages. I too will recommand you to search for private cottages. Those are more "isolated" from the kids (except if they had tons of kids next door).
