Chaudiere is an excellent choice. Not sure you'll get any 'trophy' Northerns but the fishing ain't bad on the Upper French. Steve is a great host and the Lodge and Cabins are very nice. Beautiful water too! Expensive but you'll be completely catered to! I also highly recoment Totem Point Lodge on the Wolseley Bay section of the French. The food they cook is awesome!

14-16 hours days???!!! I'd be surprised if I fish more than 6-8 and thats on a fishing dedicated trip.

If you're used to a MK PD then thats what you should get! I have a Terrova 80 w/ Auto pilot on my 16' Lund and I love it. Upgraded from a PD55 a couple years back and that extra power is great in the wind, or on the Niagara where much of my fishing is done. The 55 was fine in no wind or no current.

Pressure from tournaments, fish released in the Hotel Harbour are some of the reasons the LM fishing isn't the same there as it once was...I've been fishing it since the 80s too!

What defines a qualified shop? I installed my own Fulton kit, same as Sebastion. No shop monkey could do a better job! Its pretty easy. Not doing it yourself for fear of insurance reasons is kinda like not changing your own oil cause you think it'll somehow affect your warranty.

Going up to the Boss's cottage on 18 Mile Island for a guys weekend on the May 24. I'm no walleye angler but it would be nice to fry a few up for the guys. Anyone fish that part of the French in May? I'd appreciate any tips!
