  1. I would have gone to see them in the mid-90's (Jester Race era) but now...yikes. I used to like Soundtrack to Your Escape when I was a young gaffer, hasn't aged so well hehe
  2. Some dandies there. Still hoping to see ND myself. Early 90's Sep would be unreal!
  3. Do you like bass fishing?
  4. First concert I ever attended was Judas Priest and Queensryche, saw Judas Priest once more after that, both incredible sets. Best show I've witnessed was Iron Maiden on their 'Somewhere in Time' tour, I think 2009? Saw them twice more after that and they're always mind-blowing. Saw Motorhead at the OHL arena in Oshawa few years back. Lame crowd, sound sucked, band wasn't into it. Very disappointing, wish I could have seen them in a bar, where they belong! Seen Megadeth twice, mediocre as hell both times...YAWN Used to attend underground metal shows frequently...most memorable was Absu at the Annex Wreckroom a few years back...oww my neck Saw a few shows at Massey, Matt Good (great set for an arrogant prick), Deep Purple (sans Richie Blackmore, Ian Gillan in a cast still sounded fabulous well into his 60's), went to see Colin James a couple times there when I was young, never liked his music but he is a great live performer and excellent guitarist. Kyuss reunion at the Sound Academy was amazing! Michael Gira and Swans was the most loudest, most spell-binding musical experience I've ever witnessed, and I doubt very much that will ever be topped.
  5. The fish of summer! Always nice to be done before the heat kicks up. I have that same stringer and it's excellent!
  6. White twister tails are an underrated trout killer!
  7. Make sure you have a graph, look for steep breaks, 2.5-4 oz weights with wabblers, cleos, Cyclops, lucky strikes, jointed raps. Start in 40 feet, shouldn't have to go more than 80.
  8. I do it through my performance programmer, but I don't see why you couldn't go to a shop and get it done.
  9. You'll be fine, like others have said you will have a slight speedo discrepancy and your alignment will be slightly off, but the difference is fairly minimal there. My 245/70/17 winters are at least 3" shorter than my 33" summers, so I recalibrate my speedo in the fall and spring with my programmer.
  10. Awesome morning, you made a good choice. When the waters warm, my trout stay in the water unless I plan on keeping them. If I really want a pic I'll do the 'hold hour breath' rule for keeping g them out of the water
  11. Wow, that bigger fish has some amazing colouration! Gorgeous fish, guys.
  12. Unreal wisdom on this track <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pBQDWsBewSs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. Chunky laker! Was in North Bay shortly today, wouldn't be a fan of dodging all the jetskis and bowriders out there on trout!
  14. Hell of a start, nice dark fish too!
  15. Are you aware of something better for brook trout fishing, because I'm not...
  16. You may see an elk...
  17. Awesome report, amazing trip. Next year you will find your white whale.
  18. Jet's and Dipseys require heavy gear, a 1 or 1.5 oz keel weight or bottom bouncer is all you need on a long lead. Jointed Rapalas and various wabblers and lucky strike spoons should all work. Lakers usually arent that picky if you can present it properly in their strike zone.
  19. Shouldn't need to go deeper than 40-50 feet, may even find them shallower than that. If you're on a new lake you may have to troll to find them, and they may not even be schooled up enough yet (full summer mode) to have a whole lot of success jigging, but who knows. I would suggest finding a way to troll though.
  20. They're all good, and they're all pieces of junk I have a 13 Sierra, 64 k hard kms (harder than what most trucks see in a lifetime) and all I've had happen is a blown lightbulb. I don't give 2 craps about anything other than reliability and 4x4 capability though, which my Sierra has in spades. There's no clear winner. If you're coming from a highlander, then your lifestyle probably doesn't require an overly tough, rugged machine so just about any of the models out there would fit the bill for you. Try em out and pick what ya like best.
  21. Put in at Thorne, they have a nice launch built there now. Since you will have live bait, I suggest you stick to the Ontario side or don't bring the bait, the Quebec wardens are handing out $400 tickets like candy right now to people fishing on the QC shore with live bait fish, as ridiculous as that may sound to you. This time of year you really don't need it if you're competent at jigging plastics. These first couple weeks after the sanctuary lifts is typically good fishing, but you won't be alone, and you may have to wade through a bunch of dinks. Never caught many bass or pike in that stretch oddly enough, just lots of walleye and sauger
  22. Incredible guys. Your enthusiasm for these trips really shines through in your writing!
  23. Very cool, pike and lakers definitely love a burbot snack. I once caught a big burbot full of pike fry, too lol. They're not 'freshwater eel' like the guy says though. There's tons of species of freshwater eel, and burbot ain't one of them.
