  1. Great shots! I've still yet to catch a coho in the tribs. Not much of a run in my typical haunts, it seems.
  2. Sounds like a return trip is in order...get out yer snowshoes! I'll have mine on.
  3. Beautiful! And on the centrepin to boot. musta been a huge thrill.
  4. Roe will work well for anything that eats roe as part of its natural diet, which is more species than you might think, depending on the type of the year. Fishing great lakes creek mouths with roe will most definitely be productive.
  5. Awesome rig! That thing is set up perfect.
  6. Good stuff!
  7. It is a great tool, and have gotten a lot of use out of it, but I can't help but wonder about the effect of having such information so widely available. No more need to do your homework, I guess.
  8. Got out for an evening fish a few days ago for the inaugural trip of 2011 for the 'ol pin. High, green water brimming with fresh chinook made for an action-packed evening. I managed at least a half-dozen or so beautiful chinook on bright coloured flies and jigs. Throughout the trip, I kept noticing steelhead running and gunning between the chinook, and scored my first chromie of the year. A FAT 23-24 incher. Definitely the highlight of the trip. Bring on the cold weather! tight lines
  9. I bet it makes your garden smell terrible!
  10. Those are some solid fish. Nice goin
  11. You let him outfish you...AND play you his CD??? Just kidding...awesome trip boys. That was a hard one to read. The bay's calling me back already.
  12. Springsteen - Used Cars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGiHPu1Q1DA been listening to the Nebraska album all day.
  13. Sometimes it outfishes him too...
  14. a 3 oz. egg sinker and massive treble hook!
  15. + 1 That's a helluva platter
  16. As soon you hit about 14-15 FOW the weeds begin to thin out since the water is so off-coloured. There's some pretty distinct weedlines around those depths. Slow trolls those areas with bright cranks and spinners and you'll get walleye. Plenty of largemouth in the thicker stuff.
  17. Was there last weekend. It's a very turbid, shallow lake with lots of weeds like others said. It's a productive lake with lots of water to cover.
  18. Floating cranks like husky jerks and orginal floaters work well behind bottom bouncers. .1 1/2 oz. should be plenty for 20-30 FOW in a canoe. Keel sinkers work great as well.
  19. Nice goin'. I fished two new lakes today in search of walters with nothing to show for it aside from a few jacks. Labour day weekend is just about the slowest time of the year for most fish, not to mention insanely busy Bring on the cool temps
  20. Nice goin. I'll be makin a few treks out there this month
  21. I spent 3 years there, and hope to be back there this fall. I would have no problem settling down there, and hope to one day do so.
  22. Yeah, I was out this evening with the same results. Thunderstorms tonight...
  23. I've seen multiple 15-20 lb pike get caught down 80+ FOW in May while lake trout fishing. Smallies are everywhere, but I'd suggest a bottom bouncer/3-way rig in 20+ fow with either stick baits or harnesses for walleye/pike. It's a beautiul lake. You'll enjoy your trip regardless.
  24. Gotta love the ladderbacks. This is my favourite time of year to target kings.
  25. - Yes - Kind of a moot point around here anyway since natural reproduction in GTA tribs is minimal (with chinook) - Snagging is very illegal - I've had tons of big salmon hit in the creeks, but they're definitely more fun out on the open water - Most creeks have many runs of salmon throughout the fall, so i guess no.
