  1. Gorgeous fish!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I'll wear those out when we go 'ski fishing :) We usually pack it in around 11am or so, boat traffic gets insane along with the jetski's.
  3. Can't see it from Google Earth?
  4. Oldman and I hit the Maclean lake launch at 4:45am on Sat morning and made our way into Gloucester Pool. Launch is about 10 mins from my parents place so it's extremely convenient. We are slowly putting together a milkrun, week after week we try a different spot that looks good on the chartplotter and depending on the results, add it to the list of 'hot spots'. We've pretty much figured out a pattern, which doesn't make much sense but it seems to be working Hit up spot #1, landed a couple of small fish, but nothing to even break the camera out over.. End of spot #1 something missed my Zara Spook and left a big swirl... One cast back and it didn't miss, unfortunately it look leader and all. It was big... I am guessing a big pike, easily over 15lbs, but I only saw it's back and it was thick!!! 5 mins later I see my spook float to the surface..w00t!!! Big smile came over my face as I scooped it up with my rod tip. I am not even going to mention the word musky, cause if it was I'll be ticked! Hit spot #2 and immediately my dad got into a 3lb+ fish.. Then the heavens opened up and the rain came down in sheets.. Dawned the rain gear and kept at it.. I had a miss by a decent fish, then dad landed a nice pike about 5lbs right behind the boat. About 30mins later the rain stopped I landed one about 3-4lbs, and we continued on this spot, turned around and gave it another go. In about 19ft of water with decent weeds, a big old girl with a fat belly decided she was hungry and ate my spook. Almost a twin to the nice fish my dad picked up early, bit with a bigger belly came un just over 4lbs. All in all we caught about 10-15 or so, kept 4 + the pike. And one from last week.. notice the weather was a bit better, lol
  5. We saw a deer out in the middle of Balsam a few weeks ago also Didn't look like it was to bothered, just hanging out swimming away.. lol
  6. Nothing beats topwater fishing for smallmouth Which you should have no problems doing on Nipissing. I like the Zara Spook Jr's in frog colour along with the Zara Spook puppies in fire tiger. Make sure you use a leader
  7. Send the map, I'll mark all the good fishing spots
  8. I really don't wanna add up what I've spent in the last 6 months.
  9. My buddy's dad owns a cottage on Manitouwabing, fished that lake for years when I was a teenager.. Turtle Bay is definitely my fav There are some BIG fish in there.
  10. I don't think a dogfish shark has ever been thought of as dangerous
  11. Terry, do yourself a favour and look into the Nfusion or the NeoSat (NeoSat has patchy IKS support though).
  12. Personally I think people are remembering one good day they had, compared to a few bad days.. All of a sudden that combined with old age and the loss of long term memory turns into "Back in my day we'd catch a 100 fish in 2hrs!!!!!"
  13. The water temps shouldn't be warm enough yet to drive the fish into deeper water, especially on Simcoe.
  14. FTA goes down, hell even my Nfusion was down for about a week when IKS was renamed SUNS and new servers had to be implemented.. FTA is a awesome TV solution, but if you think it never goes down, you have a nother thing coming.
  15. I was out on Balsam a few weeks ago and my Navionics Gold+ map was dead nuts on...
  16. Can't beat time spent on the French, even if the fishing didn't work out as planned I can't get enough of that place!
  17. When my dad and I were on Balsam and gave up the musky hunting once the sun came out, we focused in on any shady spots for bass. Even right up against the bank. This is an extremely good tactic if its blue and sunny out.
  18. I have a solution to lew not taking pics of muskie.. He needs a partner to work the camera!!!!!!!!!! *puts hands up to volunteer*
  19. I think the only hand controls I could use is the actual in hand remote.. I use the foot pedal on our MinnKota bowmount without to many problems.. It does take a bit of getting used to, but having both hands free is really nice. The 30ft cord is also nice if I am out there by myself and can use it from the rear of the boat.
  20. Sounds like another candidate for a Darwin award
  21. If you just bought it, take it back. Make the dealer worry about it.
  22. A 30lb carp won't destroy anything if the drag is set properly..
  23. 1. Unhook fish while still in the net. 2. Get hands wet, camera ready. 3. Pick up by gill plate and support the belly.(Muskie, pike... Bass just lip them ) 4. 2 pics to make sure atleast one is good Get her back into the water and don't let her go until she is good and ready under her own power.
